  1. Keeping an A-series engine, simple as!
  2. What happened to driving a mini cause it had an a-series engine in it? i tuned mine up to 98bhp at the wheels without going mad with the mods. Fast road cam (266 i believe), ported cyclinder head with larger valves, hif 44, LCB with sportec rear box, 1.5 rockers. People complain that mini's arnt the most relaible cars, and this is true, but i drove mine for the best part of a year with the oil control rings absolutly hanging out!
  3. The tolerances can differ from crank to crank, but ive found even with second hand cranks, they can take a while to 'bed' into the bottom bracket splines, so remember to bring a 8mm allen key with you, and just check them every half an hour or so on your first few rides.
  4. Yeah, this is normal cause the splines on the cranks havnt worn as much as 2nd hand cranks. They will pull on further as you ride them, so for the first few rides, make sure the crak bolts are tight
  5. How many engagements points does the freewheel have? What tool is used for the freewheel lockring?
  6. Well if you wasnt bothered about running disk, it'd mean you didnt have to modify the drive side as much, so you'd have a bit more adjustment for the sprocket to get better chain line, and the hub flanges would be more central so you'd get a stronger wheel build and you wouldnt have to dish it as much.
  7. Any pictures of the non drive side? did you modify that side aswell?
  8. Im not saying that, its just like i wanted to bulk up over the winter, so i ate a bit more and put on 2 stone. I didnt go to the lengths of counting calories and working out how much i eat vs how much i burn off.
  9. Has anyone else trawled through these 5 pages and just thought 'get out on you bike and f**king ride it!'
  10. Long story short, i had a prang in my car the other week. The front pannel got pushed into the top of the injection pump , causing the microswitch to break and the throttle spindle to leak. I replaced the top pannel of the injection pump, and now the cars running like a dog. It'll start and idle fine, and runs alright through the bottom of the rev range, but as soon as you take it above 3000rpm ish it misfires and smokes like a dog. Anyone got any ideas? going to check the timing tomorow just incaase thats slipped a tooth/moved, but cant see it being that. Would really like some help on this
  11. Remove the lever, then push the barrel out in that direction.
  12. I understand all that, I've got a similar spec bike with rain king, trialtechs, ect and measured it with luggage scales to be 9.5kg, but ive got a dual wall rear rim, heat sink booster, heavier cranks, bars, heavier rear hub, ect. Just thought it'd be lighter considering the spec of everything else on it.
  13. It does seem quite heavy for it's spec though?
  14. Anyone know what the black box ontop of an injection pump does? Full throttle switch/sensor?
  15. Only planning to do 24" street bikes, or will you expand your product selection if your successful?
  16. Brad, if that's your miss's, your punching WAY above your weight belt there
  17. You explained it far better than me I'd never go for something like this, even if it was a sensible price, because im bashy as f**k, so im always going to dent/flat spot a rim to death way before grinding it till its too thin
  18. and your basing this on your 20 hours experience? any surface to surface friction will cause wear on both surfaces, so i dont doubt that the nbkohring's rim coating would wear down after a certain amount of time ...
  19. How is the rear wheel tensioned? bolts through the dropouts?
  20. Having a lefty Cannondale even i was surprised with the strength of the fork/ wheel, so i cant see the front end being that weak. Especially with the amount of wheel flex you get from the likes of radial laced wheels. The back wheel is properly another question though
  21. Cant see anything? if the screens damaged, it may be the actual screen itself, and not the signal thats being sent to the screen, so taking a screen shot shows the signal, not the actual screen.
  22. Apart from the stupid bar angle Front end looks pretty high aswell, how does it feel?
  23. Is the try all one the same? cause it looks close to press fit size.
  24. Rb did a roller ball design which was meant to have virtually instant take up, but i dont think it could stand up to trials abuse. I guess depending on the bearing width, you could offset the pawls, and run two sets next to each other? I love it when trials companies manufacture stuff like this, but it'd be nice to have a detailed view of how it goes together/works
