  1. Even worse than the Vinco.... if I remember proper before Koxx went under they were still offering these to dealers at ridiculous cheap prices. (but who would want it?)
  2. I liked them at the time... but something about the seattube / miniseat position on the old brisa mods just makes me unhappy. Brisa stock was my 2nd trials bike
  3. This is my new favorite thread. Have fun looking at trials bikes without wanting to buy one. Can't believe I used to think some of these were nice.
  4. Put this together over the last two rides.
  5. Thanks! I've literally never felt a bike so stiff. It's honestly the first time I've noticed how stiff a frame was. It's been a lot of fun to ride! It was neat to go to a location I ride often and try all the same lines I normally do on my 2013 Echo Mark II Ti. It honestly made me realize how much geo doesn't really matter, and it's about the rider. Some moves were much easier on this frames, others more cumbersome. i'm going to order a sticker kit from Frank to finish it off.
  6. So recently I ran across a Sinister W T F frame. It's a bit of an american trials classic, Tim Williamsin worked with Frank the Welder to put a small production of these in 2008(? give or take a year). The sold for $900 USD back in the day and were welded within a few hours of my home in Vermont, next state over. Frank is a bit of a local frame building legend and I've always wanted one of these, so when I saw it come up I had to snatch it up. This is also my first dual disc bike. Weight on the frame is roughly 4.5 lbs Geo is 1085, 380, +15. Here's what the frame looked like when I got it: Then primer: Some green: Some gloss clear coat and... With the 130x30 stem and trialtech high rise bars it actually feels surprising trialsy. Not like the Gu I rode last year, but it was a very quick adjustment from the Echo Mark II Ti I normally ride. The frame is ridiculously stiff.... Clearly, it felt good
  7. That's actually good to hear! I really want to get out and do some more legit filming before snow hits. This was just the product of riding for a bit and setting up the camera on a few things. I had a bunch of footage I didn't use because I totally botched the camera angles. More to come soon!!
  8. Thanks! It really is an epic location. Nubble lighthouse is in almost every calendar of lighthouses and such. There's something about taking awesome riding and putting someplace beautiful that makes riding that much more enjoyable. The riding is pretty spectacular too!
  9. Finally got a decent camera
  10. A friend of mine has Five Ten Water Tennies in my size and let me try them. Definitely not as supportive as an ankle brace, but a big step up from the Ribos. The ankle is higher, the Ribo is more of a mid, and the laces go all the way to the top which helps get it tight around the ankle. I think I might end up going with the Five Ten Guide tennies as they're pretty much the same design as the water tennies, but with a more robust material.
  11. I actually prefer a 4-bolt on echo frames. Even with the 4-bolt if flexes. My bike with v-brakes actually has two boosters.
  12. p.s. I know no shoe is going to be as good as an ankle brace. But something's got to be more supportive than the ribos, which are pretty much just laces and a sole.
  13. Hey, I've searched a bit and haven't really seemed to find anything. Any shoes are there decent for trials and have decent built in ankle support? I'm wearing a brace right now with my ribo's but would love to lose the brace and streamline the whole thing. If not I might take a sewing machine to my ribos and try to integrate the brace directly. Rolled my ankle too many times to ride without one now.
  14. My garage is not a normal garage. It's a converted barn and is more than high enough to ride comfortably on a 5' box.
  15. Area is high enough to stand on the rear wheel on a 5' box. I plan on it Just looking to see if anybody has some good ideas for maximizing the use of a small space.
  16. There is not much room, but more than that. Unless I start doing a 15' gap anytime soon there's room to play. Creativity people, it's what makes trials awesome.
  17. Got some to get started. Will be getting more. Luckily pallets are not too hard to come by. I can always stack crap loads of pallets around, looking for more interesting ideas.
  18. Hey guys, looking to see if anyone has some good ideas for or pictures of a small indoor trials area? It'll be 6m x 6m, but some of that I won't be able to use actively. Not much really, enough to do some gaps and enough run in for ups. But was hoping to see if anybody had some creative ideas for me to build up this winter. Thanks, CW
  19. Not sure how the actual process would work in UK, but no matter what you should make some sort of petition with as many names as possible to show there is a need in the community for the trials or skate park. Showing there are a couple hundred riders who want to use it will sound more appealing than just you and a couple friends. Why don't you just contact the Parks Department and ask?
  20. Bumping this to see if anyone has a review yet.
  21. Thinking of picking up a neon training fork, does anyone know the geo on it? Has anyone tried it?
