  1. soooooo pumped to see it built up!!!!
  2. The new trialtech lever has a shorter lever blade with a smaller piston to achieve the same power....
  3. Longer levers will always feel spongier. The extra leverage causes more flex. Still good to check everything and make sure it is a solid setup. Personally I always run a 4 bolt booster with longer lever blades.
  4. I'll be sure to install amazon ads just for you Thanks! Historically BikeTrials.com was pretty amazing, but hadn't been updated in about 10 years. It is a bit empty at the moment. The forum section will take a bit of time to get rolling. I'll continue to post articles as trials news / events happen, but didn't want to dive too far into the past just to fill it up. The tutorials sections needs a good deal of work, and I'm hoping to have some help from the greater trials community to achieve that. You know, initially I was going to go for stunting.co.uk, but I really wasn't up to the pressure such an awesome url demands.
  5. Hey everybody. The new BikeTrials.com launched today. Take a minute and check out what we have so far. More features and updates will continue to be released. I would love to post updates on the UK and Euro scene, so if you have anything article worthy feel free to shoot me some info. -Craig
  6. Except for the music I thought it was good...
  7. Yeah, those rear disc 24" echos were hard to find.
  8. Depending on where you bought it you might be able to get a replacement frame at cost if the warranty is up, so long as it's not years old. It's worth a shot asking.
  9. This line was worth suffering though his trainer talking. (But really, I skipped all the talking rubbish.) That line though!
  10. I'm in the same boat. Not even jumping up a pallet, but just going to something an inch higher and my body just doesn't want to commit, right around bar height. Ironically the higher you go the more commitment it takes. Normally my highest sidehops are on days when I'm feeling good, and just happen to roll up next to something without taking the time to compare the height to my bars and just go for it. Over-thinking never helps.
  11. That's a pretty looking bike! Good to hear about the durometer.
  12. A long time ago, when I was just starting to ride trials, BikeTrials.com was a really useful and helpful website. And now it's getting re-launched. The goal is to create a hub for the trials community with a forum, articles, tutorials, product reviews, competition info, etc. Currently the site is under development, but my goal is to have it's launch be a community effort from the trials world. There are a number of people already backing the project and producing content to put on it. For now I just have a splash page up at BikeTrials.com, however if you'd like to get on the mailing list for updates, there is a form at the bottom of the page. If you'd like to follow on facebook the page is: www.facebook.com/BikeTrialsdotcom/ Message me if you'd like to contribute to the site.
  13. Just a "wee" drop gap as you guys like to say. Still getting used to the 24" and rear disc. The rear disc is holding great, but something about it just makes me feel weird.
  14. It's a because color 24". I just realized I don't actually have a picture of the bike WITH the tire in it. So the 3C compound comes in a few different flavors, this being the softest one available. I'm not sure if it's 42a all the way across, but it seems super sticky. They have meters to measure durometer right? Might take someone with one of those gadgets to figure it out.
  15. Ok. I got a 24" bike built up earlier this week and have had two fairly long rides on this tire. Still getting used to 24" and a rear disc, and have only ridden urban on it. The tire is legit. I've been running about 21-22 PSI and haven't got a flat yet. I've been running similar PSI on my der Kaiser and been finishing every ride for almost a month with a flat. (Yes, I ride like a sack of bricks). The Maxxis is really grippy, I rode in the rain yesterday with no complaints. Doesn't seem to have quite as nice of a feel as the Conti, but I'm going to drop the PSI another lb or two next ride and maybe it'll have more life. I haven't ridden natty on it, but it is really stable and grippy, so I can't imagine it would be bad. But for 24" bikes, I really think this is a great option. A bit heavier than some people are looking for, but for a reliable, flat resistant, grippy tire, there really isn't anything else for 24" bikes. For 24" pure lovers, this really is a godsend. I had to trim the side knobs to fit in my because frame.
  16. I think it looks pretty amazing. Bar angle isn't my cup of tea, but these are pictures of Vincent's bike, and that's how he rolls. Having the brake mounts shoved up next to to double seat stays should really help reduce flex too, at least it seems so thinking about. Can't imagine how much it'll cost, but have a feeling I won't be buying one.
  17. Post some pics! My 7 year old daughter is showing some interest in trials. Some of the super light parts are normally sketchy, but way more than adequate for a kid.
  18. Was really excited to see Crewkerz release this frame! I loved the old Freed frames, they were incredible for the price, but the geometry was a bit outdated. These frames are reasonably priced, well built, and unlike the freed... in a more modern geo. Not sure why. That color looks weird in pictures, is it nice in person?
  19. So I investigated further today and think I figured out what happened. The Trialtech blade is painted. The paint wore off in a half circle on both sides of the pivot, but on opposing sides. I think this was probably due to the sideways forces trials riders place on it. I lightly sanded the remainder of the paint off and it seems to be working better. Any little imperfection is highly magnified by the length of the lever.
  20. Are other people getting massive amounts of lever play developing in their racing line brakes? I have the 2005-2010 CNC'd replacement lever body (the first one they released) with the Trialtech Blade. It used to be really solid, but has developed a ridiculous amount of play in the lever blade, about 3/8" in each direction. A little play doesn't bother me, but this is too much. The pivot bolt is as tight as possible without binding up the blade. It almost looks like the blade / body have worn down only on one side of the pivot point. Anyone else experiencing the same thing? Good solutions other than a replacing the whole thing?
  21. I've thought about Contacts just for that reason. (Maybe LASIK someday). I'll have to look into the contacts idea again. The idea of touching my eye really weirds me out, suppose I can get used to it. This year I'm doing a lot of shows after dusk. Even with proper lighting, I'm going to have to wear my glasses. (also having to buy lights this year ) My eyesight isn't soo bad the warped vision is too difficult to get used to, although I imagine it could really throw things off for someone with bad vision. I have really enjoyed wearing them a few times on natty. Being able to see all the little variations in the surface is super neat. They still drive me crazy getting sweaty and smeared up.
  22. Over the last few years my eyesight has gone downhill. It's not wretched, but with astigmatism it impacts my entire range of sight. When riding MTB I have to wear them, otherwise I cant see the trail super well ahead of me and have trouble picking a line fast enough. On the ole' pogo stick I'm not moving as fast, so I can get away without them in the daytime, but after dusk all the corners get super blurry so I have to wear them. (I ride a lot in the evening). They kinda drive me crazy though. Keeping them clean / sweat free when hot out seems impossible. Anybody else wear glasses when riding? Or would you rather have some blurry vision and not deal with them? -CW
