  1. Okay so im looking to buy my first car. I've been speaking to David Sproat (A.K.A Bob) about his 13 year old, 1 litre Suzuki Swift which he wants to sell for £300. Here is the ebay link: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-Swift-1-0l-3-cylinder-3door-MOT-amp-TAX-ready-to-drive-away-/141283305253?ssPageName=STRK%3AMESOX%3AIT&_trksid+p2047675.12557&nma=true&si=QUrulsDIB415O290RPdMCw%252BDj%252F4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc It's done 119,000 miles but Dave has owned it since around 80,000 miles and services it regularly I was just wondering what you guys thought of it? Is it worth buying? It's only going to be used for social driving and no commuting
  2. i dont understand why these descriptions are relevent? They dont really support your arguement
  3. +1 for hope hubs. Had mine on my mod for a year now and only opened it up a few times when I got it to keep it clean but I don't think I've opened it up to clean it in at least 10 months and it still works perfectly! Never had it skip on me or know anyone who's had one skip. I've got one on my XC bike aswell and that's perfect too.
  4. I think the joke is still quite fresh
  5. That is talking about a completely different thing. That is just saying about dominant leg but it has nothing to do with your strongest leg.
  6. Because you are actually using it more. Like I said before, for kicking a football the leg you stand on when you kick the football is the stronger one because it has to hold all of your body weight on that one leg and keep you stable while you kick the football. The leg/foot kicking the ball may have more power as it is using a fast movement to kick the ball but it doesn't have as much strength because it doesn't need a lot of strength to kick the ball, it needs more explosive power.
  7. I've only ever really had crashes on the roads. Worst one must have been when I was around 11 and I was coming home from a mates house, which was on round the corner from mine, in the pissing rain and my foot slipped off my shitty plastic pedals and I cased it onto the grass verge. I got up straight away and carried on home not thinking anything of it. Came in through my back gate where my dad popped his head out of the back door and looked and me and asked "what happed to your leg?" I looked down and noticed I had 4 big gashes on the top inner side of my right calve. They were pissing out blood so I went to hospital to get them stitched up and sanitised. What caused the gashes was the outer chainring on my crankset, just entering as easily as a knife cuts into butter. It had to be sanitised because the outer chainring had a lot of grease and rust on it which would have infected my leg quite badly.
  8. Nah that's not because it's your strongest, it's how you've naturally been used to using that leg/foot to do most things with. Think about what leg position you would have if you were to be running the 100m at the Olympics. I'm right footed, but in the starting gate with the little thing that you put your feet in, I'd naturally put my left foot forwards even though i'm right footed. Then when I set off my left leg would be giving me the most power to set me off as fast as I can because it's my strongest leg. But if I were to have my right foot forward, then when I set off I wouldn't have anywhere near as much power to set off than using my left leg because it isn't as strong. Therefore my leg that I use for most things (right leg) isn't as strong as my other leg (left leg). Hope that makes sense
  9. what dinosaur was it that ran you over? It must have been a triceratops if you came out of it with only a bruised toe, they are quite the gentle creature.
  10. By strong foot do you mean the foot that you kick a football with? Because technically that isn't your strong foot. Your strong foot will be the leg that you stand and balance on while you are kicking a football as it has to be strong enough to hold up your whole body and keep it stable while you kick. So you may be right footed but ride left foot forward because of this
  11. good riding but I found both videos quite boring to watch :/
  12. run the cable up the underside of metal stair support thing?
  13. thought this was worthy of a post http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6iYyk55z8A
  14. Hazard perception is so shit, I only scrapped a pass because that section is so crap. It's not life like at all and the shitty computers they have dont help. Some of the hazards appear way before you see them and then when you can see it you get like one point. It's so flawed
  15. you should have decked the fat f**ker! If I saw someone riding off on my bike I'd make sure they'd end up in hospital
  16. is that better for you George?
  17. I know f**k all about snowboards but I know a fair bit about where to go as I've been skiing 18 times in my 18 year life Courchevel as said before is a good place to go but it depends which one. There are 3 different courchevel villages, 1850 being the highest but most expensive as it is mainly full of rich Russians and bottles of wines cost 3000 euros. The middle and lower village on the other hand are cheaper and quite nice villages. Also it's part of the 3 valleys ski area so you have a lot of choice as to where to snowboard. In the next valley over is St Martin de Bellville which is a small nice traditional village but not a lot of night life. Les Menuirs and Val Thorens are probably the best place to be. A lot of night life, fairly cheap accommodation and Val thorens is the highest resort in Europe so it has great snow conditions most of the time and you can get to pretty much every other valley that the lift pass covers from there. Val D'Isere is also a good place to go but can be quite expensive. Good night life and good ski area. Ischgl in Austria is a great place to go. In the main town there is loads of night life, shops, Restaurants and accommodation isn't too expensive. There is also a really long Sledging track from the top of the cable car that goes back down into the village which I would recommend you should try out. Lift pass also covers 2 other ski villages in the valley. Zermatt in Switzerland is a lovely place to go. Traditional village but can be quite expensive but there is a lot of Beautiful scenery. When I went there though the main way of getting to the main ski area was via a mountain tram/train thing which takes 40mins to get to the main area but I think they have updated it and put in a cable car now. Now the next few places will be a lot more expensive as they are in North America. The first on is Crested Butte in Colorado. When I went there we got a crazy cheap all inclusive deal with Club Med which included lift passes and ski hire for £1000 for a family of 4 but we did have to pay for plane tickets. It's a lovely ski area and night life is pretty good. Whistler in Canada is my Favorite place ever. Amazing scenery, lovely people and a good ski area. Night life is also good and I just can't explain how lovely it is there. Finland is my final recommendation. They have quite small ski resorts and ski areas but are really nice. They are fairly expensive and there isn't much day light but it's still a nice place to go.
  18. this should be in the riding pictures section
  19. 04 raceline maguras front and back both with racingline alloy pistons, braided crossovers, heatsink yellows in cnc backings on back and cousts in plastic backings on front, echo tr washerless clamps front and back and smooth rims. best setup I've ever had and works amazingly with some tar added
  20. i don't think there is a frame with a bb as high and I think it would be less stable with a massively high bb as when I went from a +30bb to a +80bb I felt it was a lot more unstable than the low bb
  21. sit down, right foot on the edge of the radiator, lean to the left, hand in between legs and wipe from back to front. done deal.
