Definitely keen to see how it works with pure trials applications at low pressures. On my street bike the lowest I can go without burping is just under 40psi, but that's on narrower rims. Definitely a fan of the perseverance!

I see this a lot for various riders and don't quite get it. At the end of the day, surely that's what pays his bills? He is riding for them as a marketing tool, like any sponsored athlete. I see zero issue with it as at the end of the day his sponsors are bike companies and are relevant. If he did a whole edit for a herbal tea brand or cat food then I fully understand the frustration. I've definitely seen sponsor promo crowbarred in waaaaay worse, definitely within trials. That said, I'm definitely not saying that it wouldn't be great to see an Akrigg video for the sake of a video, like him back on a trials bike again. The same does for Danny Mac. Obviously every one of his videos are pretty grand scale and the funding has to come from sponsor deals and promo, but it would be nice to just see him on the street for something along the lines of a Clean video, but that's not likely to happen any time soon That aside, I loved the video. The bike only accentuated his moto style so it's a winner for me

+1 for Spank rims although from rumours I've heard the Spike 33s are now being discontinued? The Contis wear and perform really well, but I kept breaking them and found they kept leaking tubeless. Been tubeless on Schwalbe Crazy Bobs for a few years now and zero issues, plus the performance is great. They're definitely on the heavy side, but I don't find it too much of a hindrance. That said, they're definitely discontinued so good luck sourcing them in a 24"

That's exactly it. Over £200 for a front hub really stings, however with the build I've got in mind I feel like it needs to be done There is zero functional gain, but the matchy matchy factor is kinda calling which isn't good for my wallet haha

I'd definitely have to say @Ali C's Arcade from the launch video with the gold rims. That released about a year after I started riding, although I was only a moto trials guy dabbling in bicycles at the time. I met Ali at 2013 Tartydays with that bike and had no idea who he was but the riding I saw blew my mind! Luckily for me I got a private coaching session with him that weekend (bear in mind I couldn't sidehop up a single pallet at that point!) and then fell off and split my shorts from front to back doing exactly that haha. Nobody told me about the hole though so I carried on oblivious Proceeded to go back to the hotel that night to watch all of Ali's videos that I could find. That bike really reminds me of when trials was all new and innocent to me

Just to bump this again - I'm wanting one of these on the back of my new build. First of all, is the consensus that these are banging hubs? Reluctant to spend out over £400 on something that's going to die or skip under my chungusness @Alex Dark and @ben_travis are you still having good luck with them? @Ali C did I see somewhere that Duncan and Danny are using them? Any idea how they're getting on with them if so? Next, where can I find one in the UK? 135 bolt-in axle single speed in black. I can see shorelines are the UK distro and seem to sell to the public from what I can see, however it's not listed on their site. That said, I've shot them an email and am waiting to hear back. I work in a bike shop and do a fair few tubeless conversions and have got to say that it's all about having a meticulous routine. It can definitely be a faff quite easily, but it's all in the prep. Obviously having set up dozens and dozens of tubeless tyres it's possible to have it done in 10 minutes, but I fully understand the issues you're having. Even now there's the occasional tyre that just wants none of it and turns into a bit of a battle haha. An air compressor definitely helps; the battle with a trackpump can be quite demoralising. I'd personally say it's definitely worth the faff though - just stick at it

Definitely remove the old rim strip. The gorilla tape needs to be stretched tightly onto a clean rim to ensure it sticks and creates a good seal. Pierce it at the valve hole with a round object (like a pick or tiny screwdriver, do not cut a slice or cross as it may split and expand as you put the valve in) and push the valve through. Pop sealant in and inflate and hey presto, hopefully you have a reliable tubeless setup

I believe the tannus has a max pressure of about 30psi, beyond which you start crushing the foam. That said, I ran one on my MTB for a while (below that pressure) and it was great. On the trials bike I run tubeless without an insert, mainly because the Crazy Bobs I run are heavy but bombproof. Seeing as they're now discontinued, I may start experimenting with other tyres and likely inserts. The only issue I have had with tubeless is that I need to run 35psi at the very very least otherwise they get super foldy and risk a spontaneous tyre de-fitting-from-your-rim-ification moment. I run 45 though and they're perfect, having never had an issue in 2 years on Bobs. Definitely a case of picking the right tyres though as I had nothing but trouble with the Macaskill tyres with leaking and buckled tyres. If you're planning on staying at about 25psi then a tannus (or similar) could work, although much more and you'll probably start having trouble with negating the effect of the insert

@aener What is your exact setup dude? I've got some TT splined cranks and would like to put a fixed sprocket on the front and Hope hub rear. I was looking at sprockets but was unsure what would work spacing-wise.

I saw on Instagram the other day that Halo have released a 110mm width "BMX race" version of their Supadrive hub, complete with disc mounts. At 120EPs it sounds tasty, especially by the time you factor in gear ratios/EPs at the cranks. It's cool to see a disc freehub option for mod riders, but the question is - would you ride one? Hi chaps, I remember seeing that somebody was machining up a bolt-in axle conversion for front Hope hubs? I've got a QR fitted to my Pro 4 at the moment but it's not quite up to it so would like a hefty pair of bolts holding it instead. Can anybody point me in the direction of whoever was making these up? Cheers

Hey chaps, Just wondering if anybody has the measurements for a Spank Subrosa 24" rim? It's one of the old gold ones (incase there have been various models with different measurements ). I've tried measuring it up, but a tape measure is only so accurate so thought I'd check with you dudes as I don't fancy buying spokes twice. If you're feeling particularly helpful, it would be smashing if you could figure out the spoke length needed to lace 3x to Pro 4s front and rear (trials version rear). I've got a figure of 226mm and 228mm front and 228s at the back but would like confirmation Cheers, Joe

Pretty much sacked off trials completely (Moto and bicycle) a while back and ended up getting this. I cracked the swingarm about a month after getting it, then it was away for a month being sorted on warranty. Since getting it back the shock has somehow got a load of oil in the air chamber and needs sending off, plus it's suspiciously creaking despite being stripped and thoroughly greased. Despite all of that, I absolutely love riding it (when it works) and it has got me to places I never thought I'd be.

I haven't ridden my trials bike in about 6 months and was contemplating selling up... Watching this for about the fourth/fifth time gave me an urge to ride that I thought I'd never get again! So much so that I went and rebuilt my Arcade back up ready to go and have a play on Seriously good stuff, Ben. Just wish there was moooooore

You can't exactly compare Chris and Danny though. It's like comparing Formula Drift to Formula 1. Yes they both have 'formula' in the name and involve some madmen on four wheels, but that's about all of the simularities

Really enjoyed this. I love the rough yet finessed moto style he has. I also love the fact that Chris doesn't ride a 'non-trials bike' in a gimmicky way like you see so many others do. There's no fakie nose manuals for the sake of it/hopping across rails/those nasty pivot-tap-180-360 things. He just rides his bike how he wants and impresses with the little details like the half cranks that give you the special tingles and techy lines that riders will appreciate rather than cliché moves for the masses.
