  1. Yeah i'd go with vegas, final cut pro is the other option but it's more orientated for natural riding.
  2. There already is and i've watched it so.... yes? Anyway, going to shove this in the right section for you....
  3. I have a life outside trials? I can't speak for everyone else but, at least in my case, it's not due to lack of support. It's the may bank holiday, people are going away, the weather is reported to be iffy, I would love to go, bracken rocks is great... and i'm just starting to get into this competition malarky and realising that it doesn't matter just how shit i am in terms of riding ability. Just doesn't look good for me coming tomorrow. i Would make special efforts to go to another comp at bracken though. I've only been twice and i loved it both times!
  4. Those dragon scale vests look pretty good from what i saw the other day. 3d tv's are already here, I want holographic though as thats the next logical step!
  5. That front wheel drop at around 1.15 to 1.20 over that rail was beautiful. So slow!
  6. I just bought a camcorder recently and with all the ones i looked at none of them used discs. Most used either memory cards or hard drive and some used both. Settled on a £200 full hd one and it's pretty damn nice for £200.
  7. Thats not true at all, the past and only two times i've competed i rode in blue. I'm 23 and i wasn't the oldest in that class at all. You're picking based on your riding ability, not your age. There's no point entering a red route (one above inter) if you can't do it. You have to remember that although you could probably do the red route moves in single goes, you'll be having to do them after a day of riding and you'll have to keep at that level all the way through the section. Then there's time limits to think about and people watching and not being able to dab. While i'm able to do the majority of red route sections on my own, i found that the added pressures made them impossible to get through without failing each section. If you do go to one though you can try 3 sections of whatever route first then change if it's too easy/difficult. Even in expert a lot of older riders get trounced by young'uns.

From personal experince on bigger bikes long stem gives more backwheel control, slightly slower to lift up. Shorter makes it more flicky and easier to pull up at the expense of having slouched shoulders and feeling a little more skittish to control when on the back wheel. It's going to be a mod though, in which case i'd say stop being a baby and just buy one. You'll get used to it. I'm currently bunnyhopping a t-rex with a 135mmx15 stem. Any mod should be bunnyhoppable, you just have to get used to it.
  9. Up until recently i had myself a fairly nice riding kona Shred 2004/frame. The brown one. Well i went away for the weekend and on the saturday night my girlfriend and housemate were super dumb and left all the doors unlocked when they went to bed. Unfortunately some pikey scum came into the house, nabbed my 360 games and some dvd's and took the bike. They got spooked while they were checking out upstairs and walked in on my girlfriend while she was sat upright terrified. They legged it once she'd seen them (disguised in a hat and a scarf of all things... clearly pro's). Luckily for those two it was only my stuff taken, although as you can imagine i'm now mega pissed with both of them for letting my stuff get taken. If it was the other way round i'd be offering to replace the missing things but at the minute it's more been a case of my girlfriend not having the funds to and the other guy not being bothered. Anyway, less rambling.... The bike is: Kona shred 15" brown frame Marzocchi Z1 drop off's 130mm travel with ETA adjuster in sort of metallic charcoal colour FSA Orbit XLII headset silver 24seven bars/tranz-x stem (i liked it ) Truvative cranks/bb with single chainring and MRP lexan bashring DMR v8's DK BMX Saddle (the most sofa like seat ever!) Black Pro 2 rear hub on BMF rim Hayes 9 rear disc Crappy vuelta front wheel I know how good the forum detectives are so if any of them can keep an inter'eye out across the web and post up here if by some amazing coincidence it does show up i'd most appreciate it. It wasn't insured yet so no way to claim it back, hence me trying to track it down.
  10. Was a great weekend, even if i did have to take a ride in the ambulance. Lovely venue, it's clear a lot of hard work went into setting that up and it was so much fun to ride it for the short amount of time i did. Thanks.
  11. wd40 works wonders at removing sticker residue oo, just in case you have no thinners, white spirit or ethanol lying around.
  12. That won't be the problem unless he has the fan on the speakers or the cables wrapped around the fan unit. If you mean a quick 'pop' when you switch it on i'm pretty sure it can be caused by either a poor ground loop in your house wiring or a low quality power supply in the speaker not filtering out the power surge when another device is connected within the same power circuit in your house. This can be done with switching lights on and off and desk lamps also.
  13. A model number might help so we can have a look for an online user manual for it. Can't really tell you to remove clip A then press button B if we know nothing about it.
  14. Sorry for the off topicness but i just had to share how much i giggled when i saw that. Top job guys. I spy with my little eye a rainbow coloured trials bike.
  15. It's not so much that, but i found out it's recording in 1080i. If you pause the video you can quite clearly see two versions of an object when it's paused as opposed to the 1080p not really having that problem. Took it out in the sunshine and i have to say i'm pretty happy with the quality. It'll certainly do for the odd biking video here and there.
  16. So i've had a bit of a play with the camera over the course of the day and at first i was ready to throw the thing back as it was all grainy and blurry. Not cool at all. After a bit of reading up and flicking through the settings i removed the low light gain setting and some other features that cause problems with overall quality and it's looking much better now. Still got to try and figure out a way to smoothen out fast motion with it but it is improving and it is certainly a step up from my mini-dv Standard definition camera. At the very least i have 3 years accidental damage so if i use this one for a bit and it ends up breaking when some nicer ones are about it won't be a complete waste. Now for a blurry, unclear fisheye to make me ride better.....
  17. Funny this thread pops up today, just seen a JVC Everio HD camcorder reduced from £499 to £200 in currys so picked one up. I was very tied up between DSLR body and camcorder and for what i'm using it for (holiday vids, family things, riding videos uploaded to the web) I couldn't really justify spending in excess of £1000 on a camera body just so riding vids look a bit nicer. I'm still needing an SD card before i can use full HD on it as my current ones are too slow so i'll have to update with how good the image is from a budget pick me up and press go jobby as soon as play.com have it posted to me.
  18. Actually, the best way of stopping pinch flats after a grinding a rim is to run sandpaper along the edge that the tyre sits on to remove the sharp edge. It's not needed for braking performance as the brake pad shouldn't be touching it and leaving it sharp really does affect the number of punctures you get. I see so many people complaining of getting punctures all the time but they don't sand off the edge of the rim. It's hardly surprising is it?
  19. Sales hotline is his mobile number... nice. I can just imagine dan trying to take down an order for a frame and writing on the back of a popcorn box in the cinema or something. Could explain why the orders get so screwed up i guess.
  20. My name, combined with my social circle nickname concerning the size of my feet.
  21. No selling in NMC please. Repeat offenders will be warned.
