I want new games, I refuse to play FPS games without a mouse (on account of them being shit without a mouse), and I want to spend my PC budget on a decent 3d graphics machine which basically means no SLI and therefore no shiny new games.

Depending on how you feel about other drugs this is either a good or bad thing - personally I always liked the ones with smack in cos you could pop a couple and sit down for a nice wednesday evening playstation session with your mates.

yup, 3ds max- don't get on with Maya. I used mudbox for sculpting the normal map on the bloke in suspenders. 3d is definitely harder than 2d - you have to make the bits you can't see.

Sorry, it's another one of those "where can i buy this stuff from without getting ripped off" threads I want some bits for my fixie like flat bars and possible some sexy new rims. yeah, you don't have to read the back of the box to find out whether it'll work or not. (no offence to the chap having the problems )... minimum spec means exactly that - turn everything off and run at 640x480 and you should be fine with a minimum spec machine - if you want anything more than that buy new hardware.

If it's not what Nick says unplug the router (power cable) from the wall for 5 minutes and plug it back in. If that doesn't sort it try letting windows manage your wireless network . If windows is already managing it, try using the software that came with your wireless card. otherwise I'm a bit stuck so I'll just tell you about my wireless problems instead of helping.... I get disconnected when trying to transfer large piles of data (over 100mb at a time) between machines on my wireless network or if I'm using remote desktop for long periods - I'm buggered if i know why so I'm blaming the router's firmware and I'mm going to buy a new one when I get round to it.
