I hope it's not a serious question...

How was it? I went to Silverstone a couple of weeks ago as Joe Seddon was doing demos there, so dragged me along, free tickets for the weekend so can't complain. Really enjoyed it, although the touring cars were surprisingly a little dull compared to the Porsche GT cup and the Renault Clio Cup, they did sound and look awesome though. No pics (shan't expose you to the rivetting images of bits of pipework and crap) but ripped out the SAI, N112 (inc vac reservoir) and N249 on my car this weekend with the hope of removing a vac leak. Need to get the thing smoke tested. On a side note, does anyone know where to get fluorine lined silicone hosing (19mm ID) in black for less than £40 a metre?!

Watched Jurassic World last night and was actually quite underwhelmed. Have Terminator Genisys and San Andreas to watch and most likely make Jurassic World look awesome. Spy was quite good, some pretty funny moments.

Bunny hop toboggan, 'nuff said!

Yeah that's two lots of postage, once here and once back, including the additional insurance on both trips. That's with Paisley.

It's been in progress since 5 minutes after i found out. He's refusing to budge and give me anything, apart from a full refund once i've returned them at my expense. In that case i'll end up 90 quid down and nothing to show for it. So i'd rather not. That's all I could hope to get through paypal.

Apparently it's my fault that the wheels and tyres I bought came with 4 completely different tyres in a completely different condition to how they were described to me... Being dark when they were wrapped up, getting them cheaper than the going rate and him agreeing to letting me organise a courier, rather than the collection only he advertised, are all legitimate excuses. Some people are f**king special. So i either send them back at my expense (because obviously it's my fault), keep them and run them with 4 shit and much more worn tyres (not really a safe option), get some tyres fitted (could have got a better set of wheels and tyres for the same money) or flog them on and try and recoup as much money as possible. Anyone fancy posting a burning shit through a letter box in Stafford for me?

Ah right and I assume the seller hasn't got a clue? Yeah, you don't really want to be running rods in one of these engines without rifle drilling from what i've read, otherwise you'll be doing even more work at a later date. Think i'm right in thinking that the OE rods are rifle drilled, must be a reason VAG specced it.

550x230x65mm 63mm outlets, need to take some wires of where the bends need to route, buy them and get someone at work to weld them onto the end tanks. Then I need to do the same and get a turbo outlet pipe fabbed up and a MAP sensor boss welded on. No rush, want it done right. More welded pipework means less joins and less potential failure/leakage points...hopefully.

All the Eagle H-Beam rods i've seen for sale Ash haven't been rifle drilled. Probably be cheaper to buy a set of IE's that are drilled, than getting the Eagles drilled. Where are you looking at buying them from? Just bought myself a spare set of wheels and tyres (Michelin/Dunlop pairs) for the winter as my tyres are dead and the wheels need a refurb: Got a bit of kerbing to them, but the time the tyres on these are dead the other wheels will be refurbed and then I can get these sorted. Finally started ordering FMIC bits too

Cheers for the use of your drive, jack and being provider of the ever vital mug of tea Brakes are now behaving as I approach junctions at walking speed now.

Forgot you were coming down dude, more riders!
-
Cheeers for the offer dude, was really looking for a single pass type set up.

Details on the FMIC kit?

This is just getting out of hand now...

You back in God's country then? If so and you need a hand with the car this weekend then let me know.

Shame they haven't fitted it with one of the BB mounted bash plates like Ozonys etc.

Rack went and I don't have any shocks left either

Copy pasta: Made a bit of progress on the car over the weekend, fitted this pile of bits: These: Along with: LCR top mounts 256mm vented rear set up New bearings, bushings and bolts all round Oh and some new rear lights as mine decided they were going to crack and craze when I washed the car a month or so back. Gave them a quick buff with the DA as they were a little scuffed and scratched: New bits going on up front: Bits fitted up back: In typical British summer tradition...rain stopped play..... several times: I say stopped whilst it was peeing it down I did climb underneath and finally fit my lambda spacer, no more EML Bits up front all done: Everything went together all ok, no seized bolts or dramas. Apart from finding the disc retaining bolts had both been sheared off in the hubs, but certainly nothing too taxing. All finished (photobombed by next doors cat...). Then trailered it off and got it all hunter 4 wheel laser aligned, not surprisingly the handling is so much tighter. Just wants to grip (comparative to how it was) and for some reason actually wants to go around corners now. The stark difference was definitely made even more obvious by the fact that what was taken off was on its last legs! Having brakes that want to stop is novel too. Slight issue with the brakes in that the ABS kicks in on the front drivers side when coming to a complete stop i.e. below 5 mph, so going to clean up the ABS ring and sensor, see if that sorts it. No faults otherwise. Going to get some braided lines off of Bill @Badger5 as the original flexis were a little tired, what's the best way to clip the lines to the shocks to keep them out of the way? Can imagine zip ties are an MOT failure... Now i've got it stopping and going around corners I can plan to send the manifold to Bill to get it ported, get an uprated actuator from Dan and sort myself an EBay FMIC setup before mapping.

They look pretty good from reviews and seem pretty keenly priced; although sound a little scary in the wet/cold.
-
Need some new tyres, currently running Dunlop Sport Maxx RTs that were on the car when I bought it, so gents any recommendations?
-
Seems like it's a running theme with this booking MOTs after they ran out, mine ran out beginning of last month booked in for Wednesday...
-
Yes. Definitely. Made some good progress with brakes and suspension yesterday, today rain stopped play for a lot of the day. But finally got everything fitted and brakes bled. Off to get laser alignment done tomorrow, might chuck a few pics up when I get home, maybe even a before and after pic..

Yeah there are several different ARBs, think this is the 17mm one as the superpro polybushes that came with it are 19mm. There was only one on this one (off your old golf) as the other had disintergrated. If they're nothing special i'll just epoxy some plastic pipe of the right OD/ID to allow the polybushes to fit until i can get a proper 19mm ARB. Car should drive completely differently once it's all done, fingers crossed it all goes smoothly and I haven't forgotten something Luke have you done the SAI delete yet?
