Didn't think of marking it all up before hand then? Also VAG people, I will finally be getting around to fitting new suspension and brakes this coming weekend, I have an S3/LCR front ARB which did have some small plastic cylindrical washsers that the bushes fit around, mine have disintergrated and I don't seem to be able to source any elsewhere. Other than change the effective diameter of the ARB where the bushes mount do these spacers do anything else?

There does seem to be a huge amount of tyre and not a lot of wheel.

So ti's not just me that gets excited to see a woodpecker?... Got a resident green and a black and pied one at the parents. Always hopping around, making a racket tapping trees in the garden.

HMS Sultan. I've not used the Devonport facilities yet, believe even us civil servants can use them Although I do need a couple of wheel bearings pressing out/in...

So....who's gonna buy this carbon stock bike?

Think it looks really nice, don't mind the graphics either; although i'd probably change the colour. Now all they need to do is bring out a 20"... -

Personally I have a fairly light bike, I've got ti bolts pretty much everywhere; I recently switched back to a set of Monty Pro Race tyres from a set of Creepy Crawlers and could feel the difference in the weight straight away. Whether it made anything easier or not is another matter. I think for a top rider having a super light bike is a two fold thing, they're more likely to benefit from and notice lighter parts; but also it must add a psychological edge too. Not having the excuse of this part is too heavy etc. Why do you say this? Thought it was a widely acknowledged thing that Karbons suffer from for/aft flex at the steerer/crown. They're pretty damn good tyres for puncture resistance with a normal tube, but if you're running a tube that heavy i'm not surprised you're ok.

All bought now, did need sodding spacers so the wheels would clear the callipers. Won't be fitting any of it as the old man is back on shift and I've no way to trailer it to get the bleeding and alignment done. Ah well!

Why is it that with no matter how much fore thought and planning you always forget one thing that manages to feck up all your plans. Or is that just me? Booked a week off to get certain things done and I will achieve exactly 0% of them. Just feels like such a waste of time, frustrating. That and the psycho ex keeps calling me (she left me over a year ago....). Joy.

You Sir are a gent, that would be awesome. Guess you're back this weekend then? Pint?

Just spent a painful amount of money on bits from Audi to fit the suspension and brakes to the A3 next week. It physically hurt Although it does mean I should have a considerably better handling and braking car. Edit: horrible thought that LCR Brembos won't fit under my wheels without spacers
-
Kinda the key point there, are you expecting the dropout to stretch open?!
-
Totally depends on what blast media they use, I've had bits done here at work and they've come up amazing. Probably a lazy operator not switching the media out between different items?
-
Awwww so it's not all going their way and they're finding it difficult; makes sense for Helmut to turn into a pubescent teenager, throw a paddy and threaten to run away.

Well I would say I don't sit in either of those groups, personally I feel that the most competent group of people out of the options that were given are looking likley to come into power.

Unfortunately I think that's all you can hope for with a modern government. Nobody is looking long term with their policies, it's all about vote grabbing with short term headline promises. Which is a shame, but hey ho. Aardman animation will be upset that their plan for world domination failed though.

What brake bits have you gone for Ash?

Maybe, but i was trying to make a point that VAG cars when remapped aren't really that unreliable
-
Think the general reliability of remapped VAG cars is down to that, a lack of proper servicing and maintenance. But also the age of the cars, they're getting tired now; things are naturally wearing out and will require replacing. Those points combined with the extra stresses a remapped car puts on it's components add up to give an appearance of poor reliability. I'm not saying that this is the case for all the cars with issue, but there is a right and a wrong way to go about modding/tuning a car; I would hazard a guess that a large number of these cars with issues don't get the long overdue maintenance they require before someone goes out and throws a generic bit of software onto the car. There is also the fact that there are a hell of a lot of VAG cars on the road, which are fairly cheap to modify; so there are also bound to appear to be a large number with issues.

Not everyone buys a dog Mike...
-
Dan do you still offer your injector cleaning service? Got some grubby ones that need a good sorting.
-
Ha it is true Mike, you look back and the cars were awful; but some of the cars in Fast & Furious 6 were awesome!
-
That's like watching The Only Way Is Essex and then being surprised it doesn't make sense... It's a car film, it's about the cars.
-
If you're still watching Fast and Furious films and expecting a solid plot line, with no questionable physics etc. Then you're definitely missing the point.
