595 is pretty cheap really, I wouldn't complain too much.

Dual disc Echo 24" 2014 - build thread UPDATES PAGE 2
craigjames replied to wilf's topic in Bike Pictures
At the moment Monty Pro Race tyres. Yeah I have and they were lethal in the wet, pinched if you looked at them funny and were just a bit poo. This was a fair old while ago, so if DMR have changed the rubber compound then fair enough. In my experience they are a fairly cheap tyre and a fairly odd choice for a high spec non street trials bike. -
Does Nico not like corners or something? Vettel still moaning the car isn't up to scratch and is slower than the guys up front, but the point is he's still getting out driven by his teammate... So glad Hamilton won and managed to force Nico into an error. A mental victory as well as a result for the Championship.

It's a bit of a non-question. There isn't really much of a comparison between a Mono Mini and a Saint, stick the Saint on.

I know it seems like you need to get into a career that relates to your degree ASAP, but it's all tosh. As Mark said there is no rush, I didn't really have any idea what I wanted to do as a career until I fell into the job I have now. That was at 23 (night on 24) and required 3 years of training. Something will come along soon enough. What sort of area did you want to get into? On a different note i'm getting fed up of my hands getting shredded up every time I ride. I suffer with blisters very badly; tried gloves, climbing tape, chalk etc. make sod all difference. As soon as I start to develop calluses they just rip away and either get blood blisters underneath or just rip off. Just makes riding painful and awkward.

Dual disc Echo 24" 2014 - build thread UPDATES PAGE 2

1. I hope you have a large supply of inner tubes or decide to run silly pressures. They're pretty crap tyres really; paper thin sidewalls, not very grippy at all and if there is a hint of moisture then they're useless. Just an odd choice for the type of bike and the standard of the rest of the build. 2. Fair enough, a much better choice! More in keeping with the rest of the spec. -
Dual disc Echo 24" 2014 - build thread UPDATES PAGE 2

Bike looks nice, but I don't understand; after all that time and effort you've got DMR Moto diggers and those pedals on it! -
Don't look any shallower than a splined sprocket and they certainly have a darn sight more surface area. So I can't see them being an issue.
-
Little update on their website: "Newly 3D designed SL splined cranks and splined freewheel, available now. The new cranks use a whole 7075 - T6 aluminum sheet and adopting the CNC processing technique, will be splined instead of the traditional 1.37''*24T threaded design. The new design ensures correct alignment of the freewheel, chain and sprocket reducing skipping. It is also easier assemble and disassemble allowing for easier freewheel changes." Don't really like the red, but otherwise look great. Looks like the freewheel is held in place by the drive side BB top hat shaped axle spacer.

Bionic B1, had one yonks ago in white (not this one).

Look all ok. The protrusion at the bottom of the slaves is odd (looks like you'd easily snag a shoe or something on it). If that grub screw on the bottom is for bleeding, then what is the grub screw on the outside face for? I expect they will be horrificly expensive, which is a shame as there still doesn't seem to be a real alternative to the ever rarer 05 HS33.

Customized echo sprung tensioner + trialtech sport lite hub
craigjames replied to ericbenjaminjr's topic in Trials Chat
This looks pretty good, never used one or seen one on anyones bike before. The heatsink tensioners were great, even better when run upside down and with part of a 6" steel rule as a spring; the original; springs were rubbish. I've not seen this newer version... -
Call me racist but is it just a running theme that the last three top German drivers have all been, well, just c**ts?

Skate park Etiquette and unwritten rules?
craigjames replied to Ross McArthur's topic in Trials Chat
Snaking. I think it's just a general lack of awareness of other people. Doesn't matter what you're riding/skating if you are observant and aware of the people around you then you should be alright. -
Really? Already? Managed to pick up a bargain Jetex 2.5" SS resonated cat back exhaust, which as mine has just started to blow, is nice. Yeah it's Jetex and they aren't the best, but at the price I paid i'm happy enough. Now to get that 3" downpipe sorted I got from the ever friendly Mr Rainbird.

I owned a 145 cloverleaf for 18 months, didn't break down once and never had any issues. Yes they aren't the best build, but was such a nice car to drive. Bar my mini it was definitely my favourite car i've owned.

I'm glad i wasn't the only one that thought that Dan's video didn't look that bad. If i jolted that much have you checked the engine and gearbox mounts?
-
Ah the blessed naivety of youth. But yes, just because carbon forks are relatively new and you haven't taken up this really doesn't make you old school!
-
Old school?! Hope you aren't serious.... The TryAlls are pretty good, I found them pretty flexy (fore/aft) compared to alu forks which was a little disconcerting. Personally unless you're a light, smooth rider or you have a fair bit of money to throw around i wouldn't bother.
-
Been running the same set of TryAll Karbons for the last 3+years with no issues.

Just a bit mental! 1800cc according to the youtube description; but no more info than that. Have spent far too much time recently watching clips of the European hill climb champs, bloody nuts! Going to just a local hill climb opened my eyes to how much some people will spend on their cars. That and how slow some people drive their incredibly quick cars.
-
They pop up on ebay every now and again for that sort of money, just need to find someone down here that's breaking a car with some.
-
How bizarre. Fair shouts though, be interesting to know why they aren't working properly. Brakes are the next thing on my list, the standard A3 brakes are poo (scary).
-
Is that with 323mm LCR discs? Wasn't sure if you could fit them on the larger discs. Never used the Ferodo pads myself, just everyone seems to rant about them. What brakes are you thinking of going to?
-
Steering boss is here, Nardi wheel is on the way. Just want to get paid at the end of this month to buy some 595's and get rid of these poop brakes. What's wrong with your Brembo 4 pots?!
