That was really good dude, scary how much you've progressed in the last year or so. Keep it up.
  2. Nice lil vid lads, have to get a ride on soon. When it's dry....
  3. I don't have a massive grasp of video and what goes with it, but it seems like you're Hell bent on going 4:3 because in your mind you've convinced yourself its the right aspect ratio to use, irrespective of what anyone says. Shit, it seems George Lucas or speilberg could come along and (rightly or wrongly I don't know) tell you that 16:9 was the way to go and no matter what they'd say you'd tell them to piss off. Personally I don't know who you are, but when people are trying to put their opinion across you seem to be quite condescending, almost a little rude. If you're so convinced and unwilling to any other suggestion that differs from your own thoughts then why put it up on open forum for debate? This thread almost comes across as a Dick waving competition for how much you know about aspect ratios! Trials is gay enough as it is without this sort of nonsense. Just do the filming and produce the video in whatever format you want, I can guarantee people won't really care between the difference and if your video comes up to the level set by Mark, Rowan and Ben then you've done well. Can't see it happening though to be honest.
  4. More like £7000 for the new Trek 9.9 carbon downhill bike. Makes the Skye almost look like a bargain. Bike looks amazing, geo isn't to my personal preference, but then again I'm not Danny mac. Bolt through axles is definitely a step in the right direction. Next its bigger steerers and then a decent bottom bracket standard. I.e. Bb30
  5. What is your budget? What type of riding do you do; TGS? Natural/Competitions? Do you ride 26"/24"/20"? What do you mean by new style of frame? Give us a little more info on what you're looking for and we can help narrow your options down for you.
  6. I've found it wont remove most of the flex which occurs from the vee posts themselves, hence why you need a proper vee booster on the top. I've only ever used a Salsa carbon booster, but there was plenty of space with that. Might have to be a custom job unless you can find a Salsa or Shimano booster?
  7. Looking good Nick, nice to see your still riding and the koxx is still alive! Hopefully see you at Xmas eve.
  8. You'd have to ensure the steerer was parallel to the floor; measure from the floor to the drop out and then from the floor to the centre line of the steerer. Then subtract that distance from the first and that should give you the rake.
  9. Unfortunately i'll be ooop north that weekend
  10. Looks pretty tidy Mike, this is the black frame Joe was testing? Hopefully those blue bits aren't baby blue in real life like you say! Geo sounds spot on, Koxx Hydroxx with a steeper HA. Good to see a comp bike with dual maggys out of the box too. Any idea on the prices for the frames?
  11. Nice to see you're finally back on a bike mate. What happened with the Rockman 24"? Could try the Hope Trial Pro pads to up the brake performance too? Get yourself back down to the west country soon!
  12. Something like that trialtech stem or a tryall 3D/ rockman forged if you can find one. I run a try all with tryall carbons and 10mm's of spacers on my hydroxx with a +55bb and its spot on. I'm an inch shorter than you.
  13. Size of the rotor and the size of the rotor you'd be able to use without the need for an adaptor, pretty much the same as ISO, ISo +20 etc? So they can provide you with a 180mm rotor and the correct adaptor to allow you to use it with your frame. What bike are you running this on? I'd give another vote for the Shimano brakes, SLX and XT performs really well and is fairly good value for money. Grab a set of 2011 XT brakes if you really want to spend the money.
  14. That's what I said, if you look in my bike pictures you should find it. Just the geo was off, needed a shorter rear end and a higher bb and would have been much better.
  15. It was also said the first proto was quite a bit off what was needed for production and nothing more has come from it. Think the brand is focusing on getting some new solid 26" and 20" frames/forks/bikes out before it ventures into new things.
  16. Not sure, not spoken to Joe for a few weeks. Saw Andrei at the weekend and he was riding an Inpulse, he's not on Onza anymore and is deciding who he wants to go with for the forthcoming season.
  17. The Hope Pro 3 is a light weight cross country mountain bike hub and the Pro 2 trials is a trials specific rear hub, which is much more up to the job of dealing with what trials riding will put it through.
  18. There is a newer proto Joe is on now. Similar geo and weight to a koxx hydroxx. Rides lovely!
  19. Set of trialtech foams and just use a by of e45 cream on your hands after a ride. That and endure the blisters for a few weeks, I find rubber grips rip my hands up hence I suggest foams.
  20. I like! With respect to lighter parts: Onza rimPretty much the lightest 24" front rim i could find. I used a Schwable Fat Albert on the rear, rear grippy and bouncy and was silly light at 690 grams!Tyre With respect to forks i think the only real option you've got is a set of Echo Urban 24" forks from tarty.Forks Changing those bits should save you a fair chunk of weight. Looks pretty damn sweet, wish the 24" i had to ride had geo like that.
  21. I had one of these around 2006, set it up with some rockshox psylo sl forks, a bets long travel link and a single ring up front and it was an awesome play, small dh rig. Really short in the top tube, but that was the only thing I could find wrong with it. I'd say its a good buy!
  22. If you're finding you can't get bite with a HS33 on the front then something is up with your setup. What pads are you running, do you have a grind on the rims? Is everthing set up sqaure to the rim? A bit of money on some pads, a grind on the rims and some time spenmt setting up the brake so it is perfect can make a huge difference to how your brakes perform. Worth a shot before you spend a lot more money on a disc. Do you feel like anything is restricting your riding? Does the freewheel skip or fel vague with its engagements? Do the bar and stem feel comfy? Do you like the grips or pedals? I find changing these parts of any bike (trials or otherwise) can make a difference to how it feels to ride as they are your contact points with the bike. What tyres do you have? Do you find them grippy/bouncy enough etc? It's all down to what budget you have and what you want/need to upgrade. You could upgrade everything and end up with a new bike!
  23. I shall be out indeeds, weather looks good too.
  24. Its no biggy, all the urbans i've had, even the old ones, have been flexy compared to Koxx or Rockman forks. It's no biggy though, better a bit of flex than being overly stiff and snapping.
  25. Hate to say it, but skinnies? Shorts? Ridden with trackies and had no issues. Hate to say it but anything that goes wrong with a FFW will cost a hell of a lot less than with a King. Get an Echo SL wear some shorts and all will be well with the world.
