Good call, I gave a set of these to a very good rider for testing and he's reported back saying they're by far the best pads he's used, much better than Belaey's or LGM's even.

I can comment only on one brand that I know about fairly well, perhaps you should consider a 330d as an alternative to the A4? It's fairly quick but also returns very good mpg and appears to be reliable. The 320d would be the slower alternative with slightly better mpg (not much though!) but a lot less power. If you don't like something about the cars you're test driving and don't know what it is exactly, then I'd hazard a guess it's the interior. The Saab you have has a fantastic cockpit feel about it that you just don't get in other cars. I chose my current daily driver solely on the interior which I absolutely love, no other car I've driven since gives that feeling of being enclosed in a mobile home.

What colour is that?

2:00 Adam clearly thinking about the Hope water bottle warranty issue and not concentrating enough on his riding. In all seriousness though you guys make the best videos. I've been riding for too long to feel motivated to go out after watching a trials video but your vids always make me want to ride.

I did think about it. However, so much work has gone into making the interior look good and tidy that it'd spoil the overall effect more than the carbon weave will. The thing about these CF door cards is that they fit the door very well and cover up all the metal which is painted red, not silver like my interior. Another reason for using them is that they are available on the spot and to be honest I just couldn't be arsed with finding a good looking solution. There is very very little room between the door and cage. Yeah but you're using the material properly. I have nothing against a car in which most panels are made of FG, CF just being a more expensive alternative. That makes for significant weight gains and if you're using FG and racing the car, repairs are dead easy. I do however find it an annoying material for pimping your car. CF bonnets for instance, first thing I'd do is paint it in the colour of the car. One more picture from today. It's still missing most of the M spoiler kit, will look a lot beefier once assembled. Should have the end result on Monday. Rear end is going down and will be wider too. It's funny how much lighter the car is, rear spring height is the same as it was on the estate which was sagging pretty badly.

Either someone is peeing very vigorously during the whole vid or there are some beastly crickets in that wood.

Perhaps I'm missing the point but the value of something is determined by how much someone is willing to pay for it, not by how indifferent it is to something a lot cheaper. If that's the price, then clearly the 182 represents a higher value in the eyes of past/future/present owners than the 172. Short update on the M3, I hear it's leaving the workshop tomorrow. I don't believe it one bit but they are going to try and get it out. Also had to buy carbon fibre door trim since nothing else fits the roll cage, feel very unhappy about it. Carbon fibre is one of the most gay materials on earth unless used as a structural element. I absolutely hate it and I hate everyone who uses it as a finish, be it foil or real, and feels proud about it. You're essentially paying about 3 money (which is a lot) for a stupid pattern that doesn't fit anything. I was recently looking at some S8 V10's and those have carbon finish inside. Carbon fibre in a 2 tonne barge? As if it's going to make the car lighter... Ok rant is over, time for a city picture:

How is some axles, fittings and cranks for like 400USD half price? Spend it locally, at least you'll support a proper retailer rather than some guy on the other side of the globe.

Went to this bands concert yesterday which lead me to look them up on youtube and find this rather epic music video, a reinterpretation of the little red riding hood story: [media=]

It would be really funny if this thread kept on going for the next 2 months.

There's 5 (!) people working on my car now, should be ready this week. It's even starting to look like a car now. Anyway. Engine oil, not sure if it's good since it's only just been released but I was told it should be worth trying: Scorpion dedicated exhaust: Twin calipers tucked away nicely

My friend makes them. I used them in the past, they're actually really good. Not LGM good but you will be happy.

You wish you could stick it up my bum.

There's no angry thread and since Tom once said feel free to start a new thread, that's what I'll do. Don't blame anyone for not wanting to read this. All my mates are at work now, going to go to the pub in the evening but needed to get it off my chest now. Today was one of those days you wish never started. So far I'm down one laptop, a bit of pride and perhaps a few unhappy customers who I hope will get their shipments in by the end of this week. And all it took was just one hour filled with unquantifiable levels of frustration. It all started at night during an epic storm. My room was lit like a disco and there was so much noise I couldn't sleep. After I think 2 hours, when it started getting brighter outside and the storm was over, I fell asleep only to be woken up very soon by annoying beeps - there's a power cut and the ups is signalling emergency backup power. I try to sleep despite the beeps but fail, some time later I find it in me to get out of bed and switch the bloody thing off. Yay. Off to bed, almost manage to fall asleep and then the alarm clock in my mobile goes off. It's 7am. Ok then, down to work. Need to pack a few international orders and get UPS to come over and pick them up. Still no power. No matter, by the time I get everything packed and measured, it should be back on. 3 hours later, 1 hour before the latest I can schedule a pickup the same day, I decide to do a rather difficult task - order a pick up online and print the airway bills without any electricity but with a house full of these emergency power supplies which as it later turned out out were all about to die. I'm no Captain Hindsight but I should never have tried to persevere. Firstly I try using my android phone, get online using an Edge connection and find I've forgotten the password to my UPS account. No matter, I'll just re-set it. Hold on, this function doesn't seem to work. The internet is also biblically slow, so with 40 minutes left, I decide to connect a router to the ups and use land line internet. Hooray, it works. I get out my laptop, after about 10 minutes manage to guess the password to the shipping account. I'm in. Half way into booking of the first shipment, I get a "check your internet connection" screen only to find that the power supply got flat and the router died. There's a lot of these emergency power supplies in my dad's room, will just connect the router to another one. But hold on - the router is fixed permanently to the wall. So I run down to my room, get another router, power supply and connect it to a not yet flat ups. Now to just find a land line socket... damn. Need a longer cable. Ok got it, router connected to a socket at the other end of the room but it turns out my router is configured for my business line and doesn't work. So I unscrew my dad's router, connect it - works! Now, back to the laptop, there's still time to get at least a few orders into the system... hold on, why is the screen black? Is it asleep? Nope. Reset. Hard reset. Ok, it must work when I reinsert the battery. Done, powering on. Getting frustrated, on the ground - 10 push ups, 20, 30, 40. Back to laptop, should work now? Nope, still black screen. Getting REALLY frustrated... Laptop punch. Ooooops. Surely it hasn't bent? Wait a moment, the hard disk fell out the bottom. Hold on, the hard disk is bent... No matter, there's still time! Quick, my mum's laptop. Got it. Printer plugged into the power supply, all working. My plan is to upload the airway bills onto a pendrive and then print them directly from that. Ok, laptop is on - wait what? Internet password? What the hell is it? Ah yes, it's on my PC in a txt file. Just need to go down, switch the PC on, look it up. Windows loading screen appears, then there's a long beep and everything goes black. No power left in my emergency power supply. More frustration, where's my bloody laptop. Laptop throw, punch, vigorous screen removal. Ahhh that's better. Oh and the laptop is still on. Would be a shame to wear the battery down. Off switch still works. I still find some last hope in my own router which is not password protected but it all goes tits up when I accidentally pull the landline socket out the wall with all the cables snapping somewhere in between. By then I was out of time and the only chance to get back online was to solder the cables back on but there was no electiricy for the soldering ion... Now I have power and internet in my office but I have no idea how to fix these cables in my dad's room. It's not as obvious as one might think despite there only being two that have come off... I'm inclined to send the laptop on warranty and tell them to ignore it's present condition and just fix the screen. However they might deny repairs because I replaced the RAM and hard disk shortly after purchasing this cheap pile of crap and surely that invalidates the warranty? And I'm sorry if one of you is waiting for your order which will now be delayed 24 hours but just so you know - I tried. Really.

That's an epic car. I'd love to own one at some stage in my life.

He won't have the same problem if he stops shitting his britches and actually goes out and rides. It takes maybe one ride for the pads to wear at an angle. There's no need to pay money for new clamps, wait for them to arrive and then spend ages setting the brake up again or even worse rebuilding your wheel. You can go out and ride, it's free and it will sort the problem out while you're having fun.
-
I think he just wants protein? Surely that can only help if your diet is good? I just try to have a proper meal before the workout and a proper meal afterwards. That keeps the muscles in good shape and ready for another hard workout the next day.
-
Love the colour though.
-
I guess he already has: Get in touch with Hope maybe? They're pretty good with brake warranties, I once had a leak from a Mono Trial and they sent me a set of seals free of charge overseas.
-
They're supposed to wear at an angle.
-
I'm surprised you didn't pull the handbrake and remove the keys from the ignition? If your mate wants to behave like an idiot then so be it but when he's got a passenger on board it's a bit different.

An Inspired freewheel is just a Trialtech. Not sure they even change the logo on the freewheel to be honest.

Getting a hard on less than twice a year is something you should worry about.
