  1. rode with actual people last night! and here are new spots. I don't have to be up at 4.30am tomorrow, got a work trip that puts me on trials addicts doorstep next week so i can save on delivery for some new bits. winner
  2. little bit of gay 20" from the weekend leenk how do you embed from instagram?
  3. i mean from bottom bracket to wherever you hold the bars, theres more room so you've got more space to put the power through. or it feels that way... i run a shorter stem and lower rise bars on my stock and it feels longer than my mod with 180mm stem and high rise bars
  4. cause the cockpit is smaller, or you have to run a ridiculous bar and stem combo to get something similar going on. it's simply easier to put more power down or through a 26". i always feel like there isn't enough to get behind on my 20" and it is harder to make the bigger moves. plus you get more traction and forgiveness from a bigger wheel. they are a little more cumbersome to start with but i find the benefits are so worth it...
  5. get a stock! at that height your just limiting yourself. i've got both and i always feel handicapped for power when i'm back on the 20". if you want more braking power pick up any of the recent shimano hydraulic brakes or a bb7 or a hope mono trials. get some jitsit or trialtech pads and you'll never look back.
  6. really impressed! you'd think they'd give it a bit of a clean down after grinding the rims though rear brake mounts look so smart and sleek underneath the stays in before pessimism, i wonder how long it'll last
  7. yeah pm your email address and it's all yours
  8. moving flat this week, gonna save me so much hassle comuting and make getting back up north way easier plus TFL have just emailed me confirming that i can take a bike on the tube if it's dismantled. so much f**king win!
  9. dunno if you spotted this or if it's what motivated your post but for £250 it's a steal (i'd break it for the frame and forks and sell the rest on personally....
  10. sintered and resin pads explained and an article on kevlar ones. are you asking in regards to trials? Jitsie pads are awesome and they are sintered. i think kevlar pads compromise on performance in order to give better wear life, but those are MTB problems. i presume your asking for your trials bike in which case buy jitsie or trialtech pads and be astounded by their power!
  11. if you've damaged the alloy that the insert sits in then it'll crap out on you soon enough.. remove the assembly and check the threads for bits of alloy or damage. if it all looks fine you might still wanna take it to your lbs or contact raceface for warrenty or whatever.
  12. 180 rotor on a mod is fine if your a big boy the new hope rotor with straight spokes seems pretty good, i've got one in 180 with jitsie pads and it's daft powerful
  13. i had one to replace an onza zoot; and i really didn't get on with the geo. i'm very much a fan of modern bikes and if i remember your other posts your into quite retro builds so it might be right up your street. That said the quality of the frame was all good and it handled everything i threw at it. the paint is really thick on them too (i removed it and wished i never tried to :P)

    The Angry Thread.

someone has left my office today; they've f**ked up massively on their last shift and now i'm gonna have to be an arsehole to them to rectify everything. really not what i needed
  15. i had my first boat race this weekend, been rowing since last september but work and injuries meant i missed everything last year. we got absolutely rinsed but i'm really proud of the squad and how we got on
  16. jitsie or trialtech pads they outperform everything.
  17. i've currently got 170s in my 20" and 26", but i'm 6ft tall and tend to choose the longer/bigger options. i'd guess they usually spec a shorter crank for a mod cause they're usually aimed at smaller riders. the normal rules for cranks go out the window for trials though...
  18. going home for the first time since christmas this weekend! and i have my first ever boat race next weekend. sweeeet
  19. look at getting a bashguard and investing in a rear wheel with a better hub, or a fixed hub with a screw on freewheel, i'd guess with that having an 8 speed casette you have a fairly generic mtb hub in there and it won't perform or withstand the love you are gonna show it doing trials. mr lemon is right you want to get on an 18t sprocket for the back end for a proper ratio for trials.
  20. i want my old 06 python back, i still maintain the colour scheme on my 20" i recon it'd probably ride like a badly polished turd though
  21. i daren't watch that at work
  22. i saw bonobo last night
  23. i've just added you, i'll get you on our london trials group when i get chance to where abouts are you located?
  24. i am free from night shift! i wake up at 4.30 am every day but i get to see the f**king sun again. so happy!
  25. i bought a wanky gore jacket two years ago for about £130, i wear it all the time, as a summer jacket and for riding in, it's designed for cycling; the arms and back are longer for when your stretched out, subsequently it doesn't pull tight or feel uncomrtable when i'm stretching or tucking for trials, it's not baggy or lose either so it doesn't catch. if you know your gonna use it more than just a trials thing it's well worth it, until i annihilate it f**king up i imagine it's gonna look unfashionable as f**k before it stops being practical it's super thin material so i can usually pack it into a small bag for riding too. something like this or any softshell jacket is probably what you want.
