  1. Draw a line between the front and rear axle. then you'll see that the bottom bracket is below that line. 99% of trials bikes nowadays have a bottom bracket above that line.
  2. Trashzen Try here if you haven't already, lots of little clips and multi-frames.
  3. Yeah I get what your saying Luke. I know when to walk away, it just really grinds my gears when they powertrip like that and there's pretty much nothing you can do about it. And the PCSOs around here a pretty good, they most of us aren't really doing anything wrong and use their discretion to let us off stuff like riding on paths because we aren't going very fast and consider pedestrians haha. Except for one who used to be around here who tried to do me for speeding because I over took her (safely) when she went past a speed camera but obviously nothing stuck She had it in for me since then.
  4. I was thinking of saying that if he could prove 100% that a seat and mudguards are a legal requirement then i would get them fitted, but at the time i weren't sure so i thought better not. Cheers for the help.
  5. Yeah that's what I thought, But we all know that it's pointless arguing with coppers. all you get is a fine and possibly slightly emptier shed
  6. I had an incident earlier with the local gendarmes, which almost ended with me getting my collar felt and bike confiscated for trying to discuss the issue. Anyways Ive tried and failed to use the search function and i was wondering is a saddle a legal requirement for a pushbike on British roads? Oh, and also mudgaurds. Any help is much appreciated because this bobby is out to have my bike because he thinks i was back chatting him, when all i had done was reply to him threatening to arrest us for having no mudguards or saddles with "I didn't think saddles were a requirement".
  7. OT: I wish they still sold these frames. My short one is v.good the geo is almost spot on, but i should of bought the long one. I always remember it as being 5mm less than the GU typhoon. (so +55)
  8. How extensive is the damage? Do you have any pics? If the thread is just slightly damaged then a file should suffice but if there is heavy damage then you'll have to find someone who has a big enough Tap.
  9. When you do get new clamps try using 2-3mm of insulating tape instead of the plastic washers. you wont have to do the clamps up quite as tight, and once they've been done up the tape moulds itself to the clamps so that the slaves wont move.
  10. Yeah I ride with him and hes had it on there for almost a year i think and hes had no issues with it at all. He got the disc off of me and i was using a hope M4 with it on my T-pro and it never damaged any components.
  11. Big night last night, now I'm hung all the way over I'll man up soon and go out but for now I'm staying right here till my sarnie arrives.
  12. Just out of interest, what forks are you running? If you've got narrow forks with a wide rim that might be the problem, not the brakes.
  13. Try these! These should do the trick, and because they are slightly thicker and have the guides they should last a bit longer than the old ones. I'll see if I can get you some new bolts for your axle tomorrow.
  14. If they're adjustable at all, and i think it moves further than a piston and with equal pressure with the same amount of lever movement. I reckon if its used at all in trials it'll only be justifiable for comp riders and weight weenies. plus it would have to be kept clean seeing as there is no piston to protect the diaphragm seals.
  15. Basically on a normal brake caliper the piston is pushed out by something called a diaphragm. the diaphragm is what makes the piston and brake pad retract slightly when you release. For this brake they've ditched the piston and mounted the pads directly to the diaphragm. meaning the brake is lighter slimmer and possibly cheaper to make/sell. Also they're are claiming better rotor clearance so, as OBM pointed out, a slight bend in your rotor wont cock things up too much. Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, I know its not as simple as what I've put but its too early for my brain to function properly.
  16. Now there's a guy who is not afraid pushing his limits (or the fashion police ) But seriously he is one of my favorite riders, despite the silly clothes. some of his moves seem to defy physics Major kudos.
  17. (i) Nah its setup so you can pedal normally, well as normal as possible (i) I shouldn't think so. Look at how front brakes are arranged, and (correct me if I'm wrong) I'm sure that there are plenty MTB/BMX frames out there with the mounts on the underside of the tubing. I don't know why I argued those points seeing its just a mess about, like when you take a mod and fit 8/10" travel triple clamp forks to it. Useless, but such a laugh haha.
  18. In regards to the variable piston brake I think it comes down to the concept of if it isn't broke, don't fix it. I mean don't get me wrong i like innovation but I've never had a problem with getting different levels of power out of a standard disc brake. Its just something else to go wrong IMO. However the pistonless brake does seem to be a step forward as it means that calipers can be slimmer and lighter which lends itself well to trials, as long as it performs well in the real world.
  19. I don't think its the Lycra shorts that's holding trials back, Its more the fact of the endless videos on Youtube of riders doing pretty much the same thing. I mean when Damon Watson released a video of him doing a drop gap to front we were all pretty amazed, but Joe Public just saw it as another seatless bike bouncing around. However when Danny Mac released his video which was innovative and extremely well edited we loved it and average Joe loved it because it was DIFFERENT and had that wow factor (flair out of tree, 360 down huge stair set and dropping off of bridges to name a few). I'll probably get burned for saying this, but i wonder if Danny's fame would of been hindered if he had been wearing tights.
  20. +1 I had the truegrip version of these, they were so comfy and never gave me blisters (with or without gloves)
  21. Liked it alot. Is it just me, or does chris wear shorts year round?
  22. Yeah. I used to find this after i got back from a week away at college. The bike seemed so much easier to control for some reason.
