  1. gordon brown apparently only has 1 house that he uses. I don't think he agrees with other MPs having more than one house. a normal MP gets £61,820 per year but also gets £200,000+ in allowances for staff, computers, housing, living in/commuting to london, 40p per mile in the car and 20p on a bike, 10k for communications, 25k for additional allowances (whatever they are) and 40k for a winding up allowance (what the hell is that?) . a top lawyer will be lucky to make that.
  2. i've taken mdma which is basically e in a pure form. I'm not going to take it again because i don't think i really need to i'm having a good enough time without it atm. it is properly amazing though great feeling but i get the same feeling of satisfaction from riding downhill and sometimes trials so basically e is a lazy way of riding downhill lol I don't tend to drink ever these days and was fairly partial to the odd joint but i've cut that out too. also for decent pills here (ie not just pill powder with e stamped on it or something worse) your looking at 10-12 quid each so if you take 2 every weekend your basically wasting 80 quid a month which on my shitty apprentice wage would take you 2 days to earn. not really worth it in my eyes i'd much rather go out and ride one of my bikes.

    Weight Loss

it's not that bad an idea, if someone would design something similar to the thing used on the inside of a rally cars tyre it would help prevent snake bites and impact punctures it wouldn't stop thorns etc but who really cares about them.
  4. exactly every little helps. even if it's more hassle than its worth for most. people who think they'll save the planet on there own by using their own bags are just being naive. But if you think about what would happen if everyone did it thousands of tons of plastic would be saved every year. which means less waste and less for the eco-mentalists to moan about.
  5. one of my mates is. we said we'd visit him in hospital after he said he can't wait to do a wall of death lol I think the line up looks pretty shite this year i much prefer reading leeds/t in the park but each to there own.

ooh i too will be riding tomorrow night after i've picked up my roadie from town so if you get a call from 07590749278 it'll be me.

    Mechs...

give kev a phone chis he's the master of this sort of thing. put the mech on like normal, replace the gear cable with a spoke and set the mech up so it's in the right gear and your sorted. i guess you could tie wrap the mech to the frame but i don't think you need to i did mine on the echo by removing the spring aswell but to be honest i don't think its worth all the hassle
  8. I want to go there. nice riding and nice pics as well. Good to see you can still turn your hand to a bit of photography. next time your all planning going somewhere like that I'll see if I can take a car full. mind you I'm working as much overtime/ homers as I can at the moment so might not be able too. Hopefully jamie will pass his test soon so he can share the driving with me Rick that bike looks mental haha nice to see something a bit different.
  9. Wogan when they were announcing the points lol 'In your own time dear' ... 'she won't be doing it next year' ... 'well that's malta off my christmas card list' i laughed so much at those
  10. i've been the last 4 years and never ridden in any of them. watching it is so much fun. there is tons to do if your interested in other aspects of bike sport it's well worth going. then there is the banter. last year we went and collected thousands of free stickers and put them on people. I got a big foot long hope sticker on the back of a policemans vest and one on a guy wearing a magura shirt so much fun to be had.
  11. yeah your right. if someone needs a job done they will speak to friends or look up the yellow pages but the idea is that they'll look up the business that they saw on the shirt just because the name will stick in there mind or they'll phone up a friend who'll either recommend someone they've used before or recommend the name of a company which comes to mind. That's how advertising works. Thats why companys put there names on the side of there vans. it might not be worth it for some businesses but it will for most. Also there is the trust aspect of it. You don't get many pickeys or dodgers sponsoring football teams. so the customer sees a firms name on a shirt and subconsciously presumes they must be a safe bet because they're putting money back into the community. as for £500 being a lot of money. to most businesses it's nothing, it's just money that they'll be taxed on if they don't shift it. so in that respect it just becomes cheap advertising.
  12. it's easily worth it for a business. £500 is f**k all if you think about it if it's a trades company all the football team has to do is promote them enough to get 1 or 2 jobs and they'll make there money back. go for engineering/haulage/trades companys. they'll easily do it for that little bit of advertising, it also gives them a friendly reputation, and they'll give you the money before tax and save themselves a few quid. our old sponser used to pay for everything. ref, kit, £50 towards boots, balls (50 each), prizes and monthly barbeque/meal. it cost us next to nothing and they easily made their money back. if it's a brand new team your starting I very much doubt you'll get a decent sponser until at least your third year.

    Alcohol Units

I rarely drink but when i do i couldn't really give a f**k about it. I drink to get drunk not to worry about health. it's not really a bad attitude though everyone needs to unwind sometimes if we all stuck to gda's life would be so boring. i'm 17. mind you last winter I was hammered friday saturday and sunday every weekend there doesn't seem to be lasting effects obviously a bit of liver damage but to be honest I couldn't give a f**k. i'd rather enjoy life for 60 years than just get by for 80
  14. I had it on the run up to my exams (for about a year). it was shit. insomnia or i'd not be able to get to sleep then id go to sleep and not wake up for 20 hours. just generally feeling shit. i really don't want it again. also tons of mouth ulcers from being so run down made it so difficult to eat or drink anything
  15. tbf maybe having a 'fashionable' email address is taking it a step too far? I have always wanted something funny though. insert name@abrothel.co.uk something like that.
  16. nah thats balls if she did take him to court over it and say she was raped he might get off with the rape bit. but he'd still get done for having sex with her. more than likely that blot on his record will also be a blot on the sex offenders register and he'll never be able to work with/ in close proximity too kids again. he'll have to show it to his employer for at least 2 years and declare it in some jobs after that. it's really not worth it. i'd just tell her to f**k off.
  17. a quick remap will see 180bhp and 400nm torque. I know this because we have the audi version. there not hugely fast but quick enough to put a smile on your face and still look senseible, Ie you don't really want to start a nice smart new job with a cossie fiesta just because it performs well.
  18. I'd go with the finance (unless your going second hand), then at least if your career goes wrong and you end up out of employment the worst that'll happen is your car being taken. you don't really want to secure anything against your house if you can avoid it.
  19. yeah but i think my car is full.

    Being Ill

i've got that at the moment too.
  21. yeah just like he never checked the depth of the water. so if you never noticed that you had a damaged link in your chain then did a gap, fell, could never walk again, would you expect sympathy? some people crash cars because they don't notice there tyre is damaged, some people fall off bikes because they don't notice a patch of diesel on the road and some people jump off cliffs into water and hurt themselves because they don't know how deep it is. They all deserve sympathy. did you never dive into the shallow end of the pool when you were a kid? you knew it was called the shallow end for a reason but just did it anyway.
  22. booked friday afternoon off work can't wait
  23. muels right i always go from the water aswell. and i've done 20m (well scary) the water would have been well over 6 m deep though and i saw a conga eel when i was under. up to 10 meters you can just jump anything after that you should pin/dive (if your brave) aslong as you check the depth and don't do it alone then really it's no where near as dangerous as the press make out.
  24. I feel sorry for him in the same way i feel sorry for a junkie or a hobo. yes they've gotten themselves into a bad situation. But food has become this mans addiction. He needs help the same way that a heroin addict needs help. and yes again i don't want to pay for it, but when you consider the amount of public money politicians get away with wasting, or the amount of council money thats wasted keeping shitty amenities open for a small minority. you soon realise that however much money the help he needs costs is actually not a large amount at all.
  25. i'm sure it'll be the same set up as it's been the last couple of years. you just buy a ticket to get in i think it was around £15 last time and you can watch what you want. The gondola is also included in some of the tickets. I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get a sunday gondola ticket because it'll be busy with the downhillers but you won't need that for the trials it's all easily accessible if you don't mind clambering up rocks and stuff.
