I'm sure there used to be a thread on this somewhere, but I can't find it now. Anyway, I remember there was a few guys on here who were quite into it.

I've been exploring the local area a bit recently, few things about, but not much around here really. Just some fields, and a few cows.....

So lets see your photos.

These are from yesterday, it's a quarry in cheddar, but we ran out of daylight to get onto the crane, we were going for the one anchored to the cliff rather than the one of the floor, we set out to climb both, but development in the bottom of the quarry and security cameras put a end to accessing anything from the floor, so we decided to just go for the top one.

Photo's aren't amazing as I had the camera set on auto most of the time, but meh.

Yeah there was a thread like this a few years ago. I'd love to do it, sounds like so much fun. Especially if you have some old abandoned factories or power stations nearby.

Yeah, it's pretty cool, I'm just starting to get into it really, There's a bunch of quarrys around here, most of the old factorys have been pulled down now unfortunatly. There's an abandoned mental asylum, which is kinda cool, but all the wing's have been smashed to the point of not being interesting now, and the security on the main building's got really tight.

We've got loads of stuff down our way, recently got shown the Hillsea Lines, which was a defense line in the II World War, so it's got where all the guns use to be too. I'm too sketched to go any further than the front door though, as I know there are tunnels which go for miles there. Don't wanna get lost, haha.

I'm in to Urban Exploration.

There are a few places around Nottinghamshire I visit. Raf Newton is one of my favourite places I've explored as I can keep going back, it's really interesting.

The abandoned houses on the base. Felt like a ghost town...

Inside one of the houses..

Got loads more photos.. if anyone wants to see.

Yeah I really want to explore some more places. Like Ali said, we had a quick look round the ground floor of that building, quite spooky in places. I want to go back and get further up the building at some point.

Anyone know any local sites to explore near Preston? Any Forums etc?

Cheers!

We used to go into a HUGE abandoned Abbotts, but its all been fenced off and security cameras put up now :(

We used to make trials courses in there cos there were hundreds of palletts.

Was pretty cool, was some stuff there that they had made, brand new, and just left...

...'Sonly really any good when you're in an urban environment.

Makes me laugh inside, a little, when a friend from out in the countryside of Buckinghamshire claims to be really into it :P

Even towns ain't much cop.

Need cities. :(

Yeah, there's really not a lot around here. Way to rural, you get the odd decent building though, and they tend to last longer before they get trashed because there's less people around. But you soon run out of places to explore.

Pierre, I've had a good look around 28 days later, there's some good stuff on there.

Mr Blobby's old theme park used to be a couple of miles from my house, and there's still one blobby style house left there, overgrown in the woods, may pop up there soon, looks pretty funky.

Went up there earlier, way easier than I expected, haha, all just open gates :S. You can also wonder strait into the safari park attached to it without bothering with the entry fee from that entrance, haha.

Pics, they're pretty shocking, but with a destinct lack of decent flash, tripod, or good light I couldn't be arsed to try and get decent ones really:

Ah right cool, I'm a couple of roads over from Avishays.

Go for it, it's pretty easy, have a look on google earth at the woods behind the wildlife park, and there's some pink stuff in the trees, with a path going through a field into the south end of the woods, basically just follow that path through the woods (it's a public footpath), then it turns right and there's a fence infront of you blocking what's blatantly more path going strait on, walk around/jump over the fence and it's on your right through a little tunnel.
