  1. Be sure to treat it so it doesn't rot!
  2. What's the top one? I like that new toyota.
  3. Unhook the battery for a bit, overnight perhaps.
  4. Scratch that, it did it today. Also the coolant level has dropped.
  5. Duh, open the bleed hole and squeeze the lever and it'll come right out. That advice in the other thread to burn the oil off with meths was sound, do that.
  6. More misfire talk from me. It seems like it only misfires when I start the car up when it's hot. The error codes for the injector circuit and misfire show up at the same time. It doesn't seem to be able to transition between misfiring and normal operation without turning the engine off. The coolant was low so I've topped it up with water to the right level. It doesn't make sense to be related.
  7. More misfiring. I'll leave it until I can see what tech 2 says, but it's probably the ECU at this rate. Shame no-one on astraownersclub is bothered, you'd think they'd have more answers.
  8. I think he did but he stopped.
  9. Update, I put those two extra bolts in and the misfire's gone. I started it 3 times (and drove it about a bit) by which time normally the EML goes off but this time it didn't. Maybe I have to leave the engine off for longer in between. Anyway, if the misfire's gone at present, but if it keeps coming back that suggests very strongly a dicky ECU, to me. If it goes and stays away I'm still going to go poking around and clean the throttle body and the injector valves if I can get to them. I'll breathe a sigh of relief and spend the last of my money on the brakes and steering instead of the electrics. Thanks, Robin.
  10. The idea with the dodgy chainstays is to let you route the chain so you don't have to split it to get it on. But it's not worth making a frame look disabled for it. That said the onza one with funky stays was cool.
  11. All the fault codes are here - P0036 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Range/Performance (Bank 1 Sensor 2) C-31 P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2) C-32 P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2) C-31 P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Low Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2) C-31 P0141 O2 Sensor Heater Circuit Open (Bank 1 Sensor 2) C-31 P0202 Cylinder 2 injector circuit low C-24 P0202 Cylinder 2 Injector Circuit Open C-24 P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected B-22 P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected B-22 P0304 Cylinder 4 Misfire Detected B-22 P1613 Immobiliser No Or Wrong Signal Immobiliser C-05 The immobiliser fault has been there for ages. There's no way of telling which of the different versions of the same code it is without Tech 2, but I ordered something like that so that'll help me track it down. Thanks for the advice to look at the wiring, I'll do that tomorrow. I'll also try putting all the bolts in, I tried it with a few out... if it's that I'm seriously going to kick myself.
  12. A faulty injector could cause a misfire? But it couldn't cause a misfire in a different cylinder... It's not the HT leads/coil pack, and it's not the spark plugs, and the next thing up in the chain on my car is the ECU. It couldn't be the cables leading to the coil pack, surely then it wouldn't spark at all. This is certainly puzzling.
  13. Every time, if it aint split, split it.
  14. Ah, right, you're a girl...
  15. Another grading down, red belt now. In each category the adults go first and then the kids, so this time I got to see the kids grading for their orange belts. Haha, they were pretty bad, bless them. They all passed though.

    Films!?

So, prometheus is good. Plenty of gross bits, and a few more questions I feel I want the answer to.
  17. Apparently they clear by thenselves if the issue is solved after a few starts. In related news, a car not in limp mode is SICK.
  18. That's almost certainly true. I've changed the plugs today, and I had the battery unhooked overnight to give the ECU time to reset. All of yesterday's error codes are still there though. I suspect they've not cleared off. I get an injector circuit error too. Anyone know actually how to clear the fault codes?
  19. It could be RSI from too much wanking.
  20. It's Base 02. I think it's lame if you can recognise the font.
  21. Yeah man, had a scare today. I was at my mate's house, started it up and the EM light was off! The car suddenly had more power, so clearly it was on limp mode with the 02 sensor issue. Anyway I got home and when I next started it up it only did 3 cylinders. Looked at the spark plugs to see if I could divine the issue - they're pretty brown/black/burnt looking, some white powdery deposits there. Sorta rubbed that off and hoped for the best, it started up on 4 cylinders this time but the engine management light's on again. I've unhooked the battery, hope it will reset the ECU which should help. Tomorrow I'll go buy some new spark plugs that are nice and clean and it should be plain sailing from there.
  22. Those people moves are gay.
