  1. What a bunch of cunts. I'm all for saving the planet and finding better ways to fuel our lives but pissing off the general public is never going to bring about change. All the protests on the M25 stopping people getting to work or the airport or whatever, blocking roads in London stopping people from picking up their kids from school or visiting relatives in hospital is never ever going to bring you the respect and support of the public and does nothing to force the hand of the government, petrochemical firms etc. See my first sentence...
  2. Our multicover insurance is a good one for us- renewal comes through, give them a ring and they knock off around 20% of the premium just for ringing up (on an £800 policy it's very much worth it (that's two cars, a van and the home insurance btw)). Breakdown cover used to be another one- I'd annually just switch betwee nthe AA, RAC, Green Flag or whoever had the 'new customer' deal. I've sacked that off now and just stick with AutoAid who are far cheaper for a better service but even their prices have increased quite significantly over the past few years...
  3. WD40 isn't really a lubricant. I never lubed my chain on the trials bike but use a normal 'wet' lube on my mountainbikes. I know what you mean about it attracting dirt and gunking up but it's kind of a necessary evil.
  4. Had a little go on a friend's 2020 Kona Remote 160 and didn't really get on with it. Sure the eebness up hills makes it easy to pedal but wasn't feeling the weight or apparent dragginess off power and, possibly due to the whole trials background thing, really disliked the sloppy front freewheel type thing that happens at the cranks. Assume that's a standard thing for eebs and nothing you can do about it but it just felt mechanically poor to me... Meh, I'll stay analogue for a while longer I think!
  5. I saw there were some good fixed deals out there but at present 'savings' need to be easy access... Using £13500 between Mel and I in December for our mortgage overpayment and then have around £12k sitting aside that's probably half earmarked for a big holiday to Vietnam next year for Mel's 40th. So yeah... short term savings for now at least until the mortgage is gone and then savings will hopefully mount up and be longer term.
  6. DUB seemed like a complete joke at the time and I think I'd actively avoid buying a bike with it for one more reason now... Edit: Any of thse what you're after @manuel? Happy to give it a go in ABS with max resolution/finest nozzle if any use?
  7. We started our 10 year fixed deal at 3.24% in 2015 I think but we're still overpaying and should be mortgage clear by March next year which I'm very much looking forward to! On the flip side also very much enjoying 2.75% on savings...
  8. Good ol' Royal Mail are striking tomorrow... Blame @manuel.
  9. *Looks disapprovingly at @Luke Rainbird...*
  10. Just WTF? How he doesn't crash about 20 times in this is beyond me.
  11. A fine of $144M to be paid out of next year's budget to be paid to the other teams in a diminishing return from the back of the grid to the front? Guaranteed to be peanuts to them whatever it is...
  12. This is the direction I'd like to see things go in but I'm not ready to jump in just yet! When I struggle to keep up with my kids on traditional bikes I'll look into them seriously! Hopefully by then the market will have evolved and worked out what works and what doesn't.
  13. TL;DR: The rail network is f**ked, trains suck and unions are only out for their own ends. Who knew? Sorry Dave
  14. I've still got that for PC and Playstation! On the PC one I used to have a custom Dougie Lampkin Montesa Red Bull skin I'd use
  15. I'd be looking at getting a 6 bolt adapter waterjet/laser cut and sacking off the CL... I can't imagine anyone bothered making aftermarket for that setup and chances are Shimano hardly made any spares either. A metal 3D printer will set you back many thousands of dollars and are still incredibly specialist and just not an option. You could design the part and get it made by Shapeways or similar but chances are that will take a few attempts and still cost you a few hundred dollars to get right.
  16. So are internal and semi-integrated the same thing?... Ali's pic and Ben's links look identical in terms of what's going on!
  17. Do/can you use it for components only? I thought it had to be complete bikes...
  18. Congrats to you both! Kids are wicked fun
  19. I've had our bikes named on our home policy for a few years but when I queried them the other day apparently that's only while at home which isn't whatI thought it was... Now I've got 'proper' bike insurance I should be able to save on the home insurance by removing them I guess.
  20. We're off to France with the bikes in the back of the campervan so I've just taken out my first bike insurance ever- I've gone withe Cycleplan who were about half the price of Yellowjersey with far lower excess too. In theory you can get 30% discount if the policy is over £75 using this link: Linky
  21. So it turns out America is even more backward and retarded than I thought...
  22. That's either weirdly written or she is totally just after cash... She doesn't even seem to bother with the 'no amount of money will ever fill the hole he's left buuuuut...' bit, just 'GIVE ME MORE MONEY BITCHES!'.
  23. Yeah, that grab: makes it look like you're sitting on a saddle rather than in a seat!!
  24. Cats are dicks. I'm with the security guard.
