  1. I can't understand what makes people be so shit to each other though. It's fine to say that without religion the likes of the Shiites and Sunnis (or Catholics vs Protestants or whatever) would just find another excuse to kill each other but I just don't get how they can justify the atrocities committed. In the case of Islam it seems like regardless of the reasoning behind it the (probably twisted) teachings opens the doors for martyrs to claim their 72 virgins or whatever and so they 'know' they're doing allah's work and are going to a better place. Regarding the stuff we currently don't understand that's all well and good but religion does absolutely nothing to further our understanding as I see it, only con people into accepting some fairy story by lying to them. Agreed that we (the West) have f**ked things up and are continuing to do so most likely but at the same time there's something really really intrinsically wrong with things if when you remove some nutter like Saddam Hussein or other crazy that the first thing people do is start murdering one another, and not targeting the evil West, just their neighbours and fellow followers of Islam.
  2. Ok so a few years ago we had a fun religion thread (mainly populated by me, Ben Rowlands and Hannah (then) Shucksmith I think) but with the general crap going down these days thought maybe people fancied giving their opinions on whether there's a place for religion in the modern world. I wasn't brought up as anything and am a very content atheist who, probably wrongly, tends to be a bit disappointed and thinks less of someone who I know is religious. That mainly goes for the younger generations who have all the information at hand and in my mind I simply can't see how anyone could come to the logical conclusion that there can be any truth in religious texts of any description. Discuss... Edit: Ok, so I know it's a bit quiet in here these days so can't expect too much but there you go.
  3. Where's the f**k religion thread when you need it? Flying out to Italy on the first with the family and rightly or wrongly I'll be keeping an eye out for anything looking even remotely f**king sketchy. c**ts can do one.
  4. And the proportions are wrong for a street trials bike... Looks like a Monty urban.
  5. Ah fair enough. Magura hoses are fairly easy to shorten if necessary, should just be a spare olive.
  6. Can't you measure what you currently use?...
  7. It kinda swung it for me. The bike was cheaper than most similar bikes on eBay but with King wheelset, uprated chainring, custom stickers, two sets of tyres etc. and I couldn't resist! 26 month 0% on a new Clydesdale Bank credit card helped too of course!!
  8. It's been a while since I posted my growing collection so here we go... Dirty 2015 Whyte T130 Works SCR with custom Rockshox stickers, Chris King hubs on Pacenti rims, limited edition Spoon saddle, crank booties, Shimano rotors etc. On One 456 Evo built up as a 'don't mind leaving it on the back of a car/taking to Center Parcs' bike with SLX groupset for the most part, Spoon saddle, 1x10 etc. KHE Evo BMXwith chrome rear rim, fatter tyres and Cult saddle Ribble R872 with black 105 2x11 groupset and Spoon saddle
  9. It may just be down to paint thickness. Are they close to fitting? No obvious damage to the dropout itself?
  10. Are you not getting another vehicle that you can transfer the policy to?
  11. Although they say it's not really an issue in terms of visibility I wonder how it would be going through somewhere like Eau Rouge...
  12. Well there's one answer right there- two gear setups; one with the shittiest, grimiest, stiff linkyest, poorly indexed wornout crap and one nice (worn-in but not brand new) set up with well oiled and set up components each running with a single crank and a handle rather than a pedal so people can come up hand have a play with each, change the gears and realise the difference it makes.
  13. Yeah, yeah. Bastards like you make me sick.
  14. I seem to remember reading that it's a small alloy BMX chainring (something like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMX-CNC-machined-ALLOY-28t-BMX-CHAINRING-BLACK-chain-ring-wheel-/191794464579?var=&hash=item2ca7d74743:m:m9PKTdMx9AhBYnSPXg_cmMQ) that's had the teeth removed and been cut down and is then run between the frame and BB cup.

    RSQ

Told you! Where there's a will etc. I had expected it to maybe need 4x or 5x (does that mean the spokes stop being radial in any possible sense?) to work but was sure something would!

    That's more like it!
  17. Nope, as above (the /owa is outlook web access) Outlook can connect to all sorts of accounts. Worth a try if you have access.
  18. Can you not just sign in through outlook?
  19. It just makes a mockery of the US system in its entirety. I imagine if anything even remotely similar happened in the UK everything would be done so much more thoroughly and professionally. I see there are recent actions filed at the federal level and a petition to investigate things on the US government site so maybe this series will force the correct course of action. Even if it comes back proving that he did it so long as things are done properly it would be hugely worthwhile.
  20. Watched the whole series over the past couple of days (after seeing this thread) and seriously can't believe the system could be so f**ked up to convict both and then refuse any kind of retrial etc. after conviction. So many things just don't add up in Steve's case from start to finish it's just mental to think that the jury still found him guilty. Having said that I do feel the series didn't really make some things clear, especially when things went to trial. Very little was made of the lack of blood, the tampered with blood vial, the fact he didn't use the car crusher, the cop ringing in with Teresa's numberplate for no reason and also what the prosecutors actually think happened to the victim. Bone fragments show she was (probably) shot and obviously burned but how did the body get smashed into tiny pieces? Surely that's more than just a bonfire? The whole thing stinks.
