  1. Going back a few posts but surely the drop in the pound is going to help our economy as that means lower prices for our exported goods which you'd assume will lead to a lot more business for engineering firms, pharmaceuticals, the motor industry.....
  2. Nobody can say what the future is going to hold, it's all speculation with no way of truly knowing what's to come and for all we know everything could be 10x better than it currently is. Only time will tell.
  3. Yes, a Zoot. Some may disagree with me but I personally would recommend you stay away from older trials bikes if they crop up like Base, old Giant trials, Saracen or similar as you will be throwing away money you'll really struggle to recoup. At least with a Zoot or Inspired you stand a good chance of getting back near enough what you pay for them if you don't get on with the bike and they're good to upgrade if you do. The only super cheap bike I'd possibly recommend is a MAD Phase 1.1 or 1.2 and they do sometimes pop up around the £100 mark.
  4. First you get a brake, then a bike with gears. Who are you man......
  5. Most general cyclists who've had a go on my comp bike tend to find themselves falling over the bars due to the extreme geo differences to what they're used to. As has been said keep an eye out for a 2nd hand Zoot or Inspired, either should get you started!
  6. Looking on Tarty the stem clamp on the Jitsie is 5mm bigger, also they usually list the actual angle/length rather than the claimed so you should be good to go.
  7. Sunk 4 pints in the Piccadily Taphouse after a safety brief in Manchester this afternoon with a couple of the managers. Really feel like going at it tonight now! * Angry thread content \/ (though the wife is feeling tired and rough so probably won't happen)
  8. Carbon forks, Hope headset, road mech and new wheels all fitted!
  9. Ordered some t shirts from America a few weeks back which finally got through customs on the 7th. Strangely though the tracking number now shows on both Parcelforce and Royal Mail that my item, posted on 07/06/16 has been received at our international mail centre and is being made ready for despatch overseas. Been waiting nearly a month for it and praying to God it doesn't all get sent back to the sender!
  10. Might have accidentally ordered some new Hope Pro 4/Pacenti SL25 wheelbuilds for my CX bike for the bargainous price of £390!
  11. Pull up bar is set and ready for use!
  12. Already got some, was looping them over the branches on some of the trees but they are a bit old and rotten so weren't filling me with confidence. Also gonna put a swing on there for the small people when I'm not using it, though knowing my daughter she'll never be off it!
  13. Knackered now but happy to have got this up
  14. Very pissed off, had to leave my mod on the shed loft whilst we had the sheep in for lambing and I've just got it down. Due to the condensation from the weather and the hundred or so sheep and lambs almost everything on the bike has corroded. Discs and all steel bolts are rusty, brake calipers, hubs where the spoke holes are, pedals and brake bodies are corroded and the brakes whilst still working well look f**ked. Pretty much turned a £350-400 bike into a £150-200 bike
  15. Never mind all that, vid required boy!
  16. Got myself a mission on this week as I've got loads of bits I've had lying about waiting to get fitted. First up will be carbon forks and hope headset on my CX bike, next is to build up my other Saint to go on the front of my 4play and then I need to swap the clutch mech off the CX to a 105 and change my sons drivetrain from 1x9 to 1x10. Also on the side project Rockhopper I've sourced some U-turn 140mm Pikes to go on which should be here for the weekend!
  17. I remember a mate of mine sticking one in his Nova (that was the predecessor to the Corsa for all you youngsters on here) and that was stupidly fast!
  18. Agreed, 87Monty wins the Car Thread

    Films!?

Eddie The Eagle was a good watch, a bit (well, very) corny but I really enjoyed it all. Definitely a feel good film!
  20. New series of Banshee on NowTV, gonna be tired for work tomorrow!
  21. I've finally succumbed and ordered two new door locks for the Golf. Got pissed off having to check whether or not the rear offside is locked/unlocked and having to lean in to rectify it all the time. Also had more than one occasion (one leading to a flat battery) where I've left my lights on because the car doesn't realise I've opened the drivers door so the reminder doesn't go off. She's also now rocking some atrocious fitting Chinese chrome wing mirror covers after the drivers side one decided it had had enough and jumped ship on the way to work a few weeks back! Also sticking a standard exhaust back on, the one I've got fitted is far too antisocial for 05:30am starts, shame really as it writes off the idea of getting something nice like Jardos scooby!
  22. So, for some reason I thought it'd be easy to source a couple of 3.6m fence posts for my pull up bar to the point I've already dug a hole for one of them. Now after ringing and emailing nearly every place I could find in the North West, being told I was too far to deliver or they only do 3m lengths, I accidentally phoned a merchants in New Mills (literally 10 mins from my house) I never knew existed who not only have them in stock but they're the cheapest I've found and will happily deliver for a tenner. Was almost ready to propose to the woman on the phone, she is my new hero!
  23. Nope, far too sensible. Like I said though the half time entertainment made up for it though!
  24. New scoring system was way better than before, took it right to the wire and was interesting as the public vote was almost completely opposite to the judges! Very disappointed at the lack of weirdos this year though the hosts act before the votes were in was quality. I agree though, Ukraine???
