Had a change around on my bike, Rockman Spade forks fitted and swapped brakes for Tensile levers, Trialtech hose and fittings with Magura and Raceline calipers.
Burn through front tyres despite being rwd, problems with the auto gearbox possible and clutch problems with the manuals. I was looking at them the other day and changed my mind, have a read up on honest johns!
Wife is mental. Been on one since she ran the half marathon as she knows she could have gone quicker and the guy she runs with is now getting pretty busy and unable to train with her cause he's signed up as a plastic copper and is moving house.
I know she'll piss the Manchester marathon but is now having a break down because she doesn't know what to do or how she'll train and is coming up with all sorts of shit along with having a go at me for having the balls to push through my self confidence issues and get to the gym.
To top all this off she keeps moaning we have no money and wants to save up to fix the house up yet at the same time moans when I agree to overtime to come up with said money.
Managed to book 3 days off at the busiest time of the year at work so I can go on a fitness instructor course. Now I just need payday to roll around and there still be a place available for me!
The boys bike has arrived so I've just built it up ready for when he gets back from school. I'll be honest, I'm jealous! It's really tidy and should be a great base to last a good few years!
Just need to hold back on the urge to spend a fortune upgrading it now......
The spec, steel forks, square taper BB, plastic pedals, V brakes, generally cheaper components....
Also the geo is slightly different, 5mm shorter stays and 15mm overall shorter wheelbase so I assume the extra 10mm is down to the rake of the forks.
Nexus is where it's at. May not be the number one in terms of performance but they're vanilla so no bloatware (my old Sony was rammed with stuff I never used but couldn't remove) and the first for updates and stuff.
Yeah but a set of disc wheels can be had for under £100. To be fair the rest of the spec is miles ahead of anything in the price range so if he gets into riding it I won't mind spending to upgrade the wheels!
Tracking one of these down has been a nightmare, out of stock all over the country and none coming in for weeks (except the red one at my cousins bike shop but that's the wrong colour!). Ended up ordering one from a German website for the princely sum of £10 more expensive than the UK price delivered!
Hope nothing goes wrong!!
Well he proved the Trialtech Sport Lite forks were up to the job and now he's onto the carbon Echo forks. Might just be me but it seemed like his style was slightly different to when he was on his old piranha?!
I changed the stem on my old Fourplay to make it a bit more trials friendly and I fancy doing the same to my current one as I never really got much chance to test it. The problem is I can't remember the geo and as the search function doesn't work I can't find the thread I got the info from so can anyone recommend the right geo?
I'm thinking maybe 120 x 17 (currently got a system x 90 x 35)??
