  1. It was "Danny Macaskill - April 2009 - Inspired Bicycles" April 2009 was it's main title though, the Inspired was simply put as a title sponsor kinda deal!
  2. ONLY GONE AND GOT INTO ONE OF THE BEST COLLEGES LOCALLY TO FINISH MY A LEVELS!!!!!!!! Also, i have a LOT of good mates there, and its within 5 minutes cycles of 2 B<X race tracks, some dirt jumps and about 15 minutes away from some DH trails. Safe to say i have landed on my feet! Got Euan Beaden coming up tomorrow to stay for a week to ride bikes and film, then start at this new place on Monday
  3. The Mini 2007 lever blades fit fine. Ran them on my DH bike like so. http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Models.aspx?ModelID=17240
  4. I see what you mean, but what they are saying is that the A2 course follows on from the AS, so until you finish the AS, you won't have the skills to do the A2. They can't be run in parallel. Basically, just had a call back from one local sixth form, saying they are going to get one of the tutors to get in touch with me to discuss it further. I can be hopeful eh?!
  5. Again, already been through this route, although unfortunately I get the standard "the A2 course follows on from the AS, and as such you could not do it without the skills learnt from that first year" Yes, I am currently speaking to one local sixth form, who I may be able to convince. Pretty much on my last chance here! My current school won't see me, as as far as they are concerned, I am no longer a student.
  6. Completed all my other courses, just because I started Media a year late, I have only done the first half. Sucks big time styley! Problem is, I am doing cinematography/film making at Uni, and so it is the one critical course for me really!
  7. It is a little silly! Most won't take me. I've done the AS, I need to take the A2 and then that's me done for Uni, but I cant take that year anywhere as no one will let me.
  8. Nothing, got full marks in my Media coursework, it is basically because I would only be taking Media Studies next year, and they want me to be taking 4 subjects worth of lessons to continue at school, but won't let me start any new courses as I would only be doing the to AS level. Essentially, I cant do what I need to do to stay on and finish my course, despite being one of only two people to ever score full marks in the coursework, and being, in their words, the best media student they have ever had. Been on the phone to the colleges and schools locally, most won't take me or have the same problem as my current school. I feel your pain buddy!
  9. My school have decided that it is not in my best interests for me to continue next year and finish my A Levels, and as such they re rejecting my re-enrolment and I have been kicked out of the school. Applications for local colleges and schools have now closed, meaning there is little to no chance of me getting into any to finish my subjects. Chances of Uni are now diminished, and all plans I had for the enxt 4 years of my life are screwed up. FUBAR'd Thanks a lot arseholes.
  10. If you're willing to pay, Premiere and After Effects together make a killer combination! My MacFaggot-edness screams out that Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5 are the way forward, but obviously not useable on a Windows machine without Hackintosh setup. Shy of that, I had good results using Cyberlink Powerdirector. Super easy to use and really powerful! Vegas was a bit of a "mehhh" for me, just didn't get on with it. But if you do go down the Adobe route, make sure you go CS6... it's much nicer than any of the previous editions.
  11. I do everything on my Macbook Pro 13" 2012 mid model. Granted I am running 16GB RAM, a dual core i7 2.9 gHz processor and two 256GB SSD. Saying that I can simultaneously run After Effects, Motion 5, Final Cut Pro, Photoshop and Dreamweaver without any issues as well as browsing the web and listening to music, so a slightly lower specced model should be fine for any one or two of those tasks at a time.
  12. Shimano Saint on the front, Avid SD7/Ultimate or XTR on the rear with an XT trekking lever.
  13. Cheers guys! Done quite a few now but nothing particularly impressive. This summer will see a big video released of myself. Got a week's filming with Euan in 2 weeks time so aim to pull some shapes then and make a start on it! You can see my older videos here: https://vimeo.com/album/1983121/sort:date/format:thumbnail https://vimeo.com/59504940 https://vimeo.com/59427719 https://vimeo.com/49619938 (My three latest, two comp entries and a short video to get rid of less impressive clips!) Cheers James
  14. Edit was a bit of a winged job, all shot on a single lens and a Flycam, no tripod or standard lenses to use at all! But as I say, wasn't meant to be a "proper" video, just a record of some fun we had! Euan's riding is coming on massively! There will be some good things to come from this lad!!!
  15. Here we go guys! Spent last Friday and Saturday down in Portsmouth to ride, chill, party and generally have a chilled time with my good friend Euan Beaden Official! After deciding to film a few clips for his next video, it turns out we had enough for a whole video!! We had fun, learnt some new stuff, relearnt some old stuff, partied, got depressed, cheered up again, rode bikes, led in the sun, rode more bikes and had a huge laugh together! Almost without it all getting a bit homoerotic! Almost.... Please note this is a video not about going big, fast or pushing ourselves, it is about having fun! I certainly believe that if all you care about is beating others and going bigger and bigger, then bikes are not for you. You should enjoy it, and if that brings progression then so be it! Saying that, Euan was on form as ever and his riding piddles all over mine! Enjoy!
  16. I've snapped them on a few mountain bikes and street bikes. Wouldn't ever dare pop on on a trials bike because of this. Because of the bends in the plate, these try to flatten out under load, creating not only a silly amount of stretch but also a perfect place at which to snap. All of the links that I have snapped have been in the middle of the plate on a bend. Normally the outer bend at that. If you rivet a chain properly, and then peen it over, it's very unlikely it will ever go on the rivet. The only exception being the SRAM 1091r that I had, in which I cracked a plate from the rivet hole through to the little cutout in the side of the plate! To this day i don't know how, but I will not run one again!
  17. Willing to bet a Hex, with Hope and Shimano componentry...
  18. Did you ever get this sorted in the end buddy?
  19. Hmmm, can I go to Malaga? " Questions answered correctly: 8 out of 24 (33%) Time taken: 03 minutes 01 seconds "
  20. With RockShox sidehop forks bing some of the flexiest I have ever encountered, and XT hubs not exactly having they greatest bearings/ratchet/pickup, he is certainly a braver man than I riding that bike! The fact you can see his forks flexing from simply hopping on the back wheel would not be putting me in the best of confidences! Other than that, seriously smooth rider and I love the mountain bike look! Surprised he is running and XTR mech though and not Saint!
  21. All about Hope headsets..... And Rowan, I concur with the above! be good to see you out again!
  22. No more exams for another month now, bloody love study leave!! Got a sweet weekend planned for Portsmouth this weekend, riding bikes and partying with Euan Beaden and various other mates down there! Will also be the deciding point as to whether or not I keep my trials bike. I shall be happy to have decided either way! All's good it seems!
  23. Shimano Saint hands down.
