I can't be the only one that was fairly confused by the title of this? By reading the post I didn't quite see where the broken finger came in! I'd be surprised if the shifters can't be detached to be honest, but I guess everything is possible.

What age primes are you looking at? Most of mine are from the late 60s to 80s and are pretty decent. All have their own character though, and that doesn't necessarily mean that they are extremely sharp, but most will out-resolve a regular sensor (unless you have 30mp on a crop!) There's lots of lenses out there with 10+ aperture blades to retain smooth bokeh when stopped down (and to mesmerize you when looking at them) Corner sharpness wouldn't be an issue on a crop sensor either. You won't find, say a 35/1.4 though as they didn't exist back then, but decent 35/2s can be found. Don't know what you're looking for though, I really don't know much about contemporary lenses, Samyang seems okay but their quality control can be a bit wonky afaik. I enjoyed 35, 85 and 150 a lot on crop. Weirdly enough I use 28, 50, 85, 120 the most on FF. EDIT: damnit. Can I deactivate the shift + enter auto post? I keep messing up with that. Nothing happened for ages and now I've got a billion posts in here. \o/

Maybe 'rash' was a bit a strong word, it doesn't stay nearly as long as any regular rash, it also doesn't get as bad as nettles (though they never really got that bad as much as I remember). Happens with long or short sleeves, so I doubt it's clothing. Pollen/sweating could be, but why would it only affect that area? I once figured it must be something to do with vibrations but I can't quite see how that makes sense.

Let's revive it then Icons are sorted onto various "pages", like on a smartphone, and folders with Fences, double click and the whole thing is full of them...

Had this happen for a while now after a couple of laps of the local pumptrack (dirt) and attributed it to dust, blood flow or whatever, I never actually have it much thought. But the day before yesterday I actually got a pretty bad itch again on the inside of my under-, elbow and upper-arm when riding a roadbike over a gravel track for a few km, so not really utilising the muscles in the region a lot. First time I noticed that I actually get slightly blotchy skin, though it's gone in 2mins when I take a break. Itches like hell though whilst it's there. Not anything that concerns me a lot, but I do wonder why it's happening? Anyone getting anything similar?

Oops.. Kinda missed this in here! Adapted Petzval lens by Geoffrey's Creations, on Flickr And here on film: Victorian Timemachine by Geoffrey's Creations, on Flickr Got a build progress thing on my website if anyone is interested. http://blog.gcs-creations.ch/ Yep that works!

I don't even know what I do, I think my pedals are a bit further forward too, but I think sometimes it'd be nicer to have them a bit further back. But my ankles are not that great anyways since I, err, failed too many 180s and kept smashing them on the cranks. Thought thinking about it that actually only accounts for one of them.. Other than that.. Your shoes look a bit f*cked Edit: checking my instagram I appear to be standing on my pedals about the same as you.

Just extracted the tube from the closet, seems to be 2.2mm wall thickness, probably more than the holy rollers lol But yeah, I'm not sure about the contis. They're bloody expensive. And if it ain't broke don't fix it (in my case). Would need to try them first I think.

I once had a downhill 24" tube that I got for free in the back tyre a few years ago, was heavy as f**k, weighted about half a kilo. Actually wanted to pinch it but gave up after a year and put it on a shelf.. Only ever ran Holy Rollers though, used to get lots of punctures in the first few years, not many lately (touch wood)*. I guess they teach you to be smooth. I do consider changing to the Contis sometime when I've got no more rubber left on these.. *bet I'll get one this week?

Just run them how they're comfortable to you/your wrists.. I don't even know how mine are set up, a bit forwards I believe.

Not entirely sure anymore how the 2012 fourplay felt as I never owned one, but my 2010* fourplay felt very cramped after a while and I used to get lower back pains riding it. The arcade feels lighter in a way and it's not that noticeable that it's under you if that makes sense. I felt like I'm standing in in, being more upright with less weight on your arms. That said, I could pedal up higher with less difficulties with my fourplay, but that might be down to practice or lack of it.. All in all, for me switching to the arcade was brilliant. It's a right hoot to ride 'normally' too. No idea how the TMS Silex would compare though. *2011? No idea anymore.. I don't even remember which year arcade I have..

Yesterday, but I'm really quite chuffed with it. and here's another for your amusement, if you haven't seen it yet.

Absolutely top stuff! Really enjoyed that! Is it me or have many of those spots not featured in a video anymore in a while? I haven't been watching all that many lately though. It somehow made me feel like I was getting thrown back a few years when seeing some of them

Have you seen the recent reviews on the gopro apps on the Play Store though? [Spoiler, reviews for the latest version of Capture look like they average at about 1.5 stars] There's some room for improvement there.

Just looked up A2 injuries. I now know why my ring finger is f**ked, but I have the feeling is will stay as it is for the rest of my life. Fell off at a pumptrack three years ago and landed on the back of my hand but the inside started hurting. Only hurts when tapping against the spot when the finger is bent or when lifting something, but I could strike it with a hammer when stretched and it wouldn't hurt (apart from the hammer.. But you know what I mean :p), which always confused me. Kinda got used to it over the years but I guess I'll try taping it sometime to see if it makes a difference.

Second smartphone I've cracked in half a year. I usually sprinkle a few drops of water onto the phones screen before I head to bed and give it a quick clean because I don't like the look of a grubby phone as much as that of a clean one.. Apparently I was a bit too tired for my fine motor skills to work and I hit the phone out of my hands with the towel. Took quite an exciting tumble, hitting the wall, narrowly missing the toilet and landing screen down on the floor where it slid back through under the toilet a and through half the bathroom. Picked it up and it was fine but pretty dusty. Wiped the dust off with my palm, *crack*. Not sure if I shall be angry that I cracked it or amused by the way it happened..

If it's anything like my mates bmx downtube that bent and then cracked around there it'll hold up for around 4 harsh bunnyhops and snap off. 10/10 would not ride.

I was just about to say, it turned to looking like this way sooner than expected!

Well, this would depend on the gearing wouldn't it? Let's say you have a fixed point in the room, let's say where the BB is, and you'd have a sufficiently light gearing you could pull back on the crank and the crank would move away backwards from the fixed point faster than the bike would move forwards, leaving the bike traveling forwards with the crank actually traveling 'backwards' until it gets to the point Ali brought up? That is a good point too, you can tug backwards on the string whilst standing on the front of the bike too..

Still messing around with that old lens.. Made a makeshift aperture and it's bloody sharp when stopped down and the bokeh is just as special as I wanted it. (crappy shot though!)

Had the crazy idea of adapting an antique lens.. Took an old m42 lens apart that basically came for free with a camera and was in a pretty rough shape and re-used the mount. Cut a few sheets of plywood and screwed them together and slapped the lens with the lensboard onto the front of it. Well maybe it was a bit more complicated, but that basically is it. The lens is a petzval design off a magic lantern lens from the late 1880s. It's roughly a 120mm f2 and has no aperture..

Do you mean something like a Sony Nex? I've never used one myself but they seem quite decent. Here's two shots I was quite happy with from the Gevena Motorshow.
