    Covid19

The positive (and negative) in the UK is that your, admittedly fairly incompetent, government has the balls to call off Christmas. Switzerland probably will be finding body bags under the tree on Christmas morning and the kids will be taught to fill these special stockings with their grandparents in January. Our government vowed that we won't have a second lockdown but most people agree that we should have had another short one two months ago. Ironically people are starting to distrust them because they thing they should have done more. Now they went ahead and close stores earlier than usual which will concentrate people more in the shops and on their way home at closing time. Can't even get some bread at a petrol station on a Sunday anymore ffs. But hey, Christmas is safe, that the main thing, right? Right?
  2. I don't actually remember many songs from videos. Band of Horses has been mentioned already so I'll go with what introduced me to riding with ska: Shootin' Goon - MTV / Do the Goon intro from Matt Berridge's Do the Goon Again vid. Also, from @aener 's Jezebel vid, Iron & Wine - Jezebel.
  3. Bicycle frame arrived today, postman walked off with customs invoice, I found out that I need to return in. Dropouts a bit messed up, edge at tips bent over a little and missing some paint, but nothing a file couldn't rectify, but the top headset cup has quite a dent so that fitting a bearing wouldn't even be possible. Yes, sure I could try knocking it out with a piece of wood and a hammer, but that's not really what I want to do with a new frame. Generally fairly stressed with a school assignment, I usually can't keep things short, but it seems like I can write the whole stupid thing in 5 pages instead of the ~20 requested.乁( •_• )ㄏ
  4. I see someone quarantined together with a slackline! Some sweet moves in there. Actually didn't mind the cheese here, was creative and fairly unobtrusive.

Actually don't know what to say to this other than he got lucky (sprinkle expletives to suit)! Don't want to hear anything about the halos anymore either! https://www.formula1.com/en/video/2020/11/2020_Bahrain_Grand_Prix__Grosjean_escapes_huge_crash_and_fire_at_race_start.html
  6. Well it only took me 3/4 of a year to buy a frame (and a car getting snatched up infront of my nose - though my wallet is happy).. Went with the DMR Bolt (short version) and will see what wheels I throw on it when it's here. Thought someone with grippier tyres and lower standover height would be advisable in icy conditions since I'm avoiding public transport and ride to school 3x a week. First thing to report: Shipping went up from £5 to £12.50.
  7. I've also got some of those boxes. Just opened one yesterday looking for something and I found a few things in there that made me so happy! Totally worth holding on to it all these years.
  8. Treat it like a tattoo is probably quite good advice. Defo wouldn't go to just anyone and follow people's recommendations. You can't set up shop here without any approved qualifications so I guess it's less of a risk here. Acupressure doesn't need any though, but that also hasn't got the risk of messing you up with needles. Never tried that. Anyway, first time I went was to a Chinese lady, which one usually links as "correct" with acupuncture, and I didn't find it great, then was recommended an Egyptian chap who is the most patient man I've met (he needed to be, I don't enjoy the thought of needles in me that much honestly) and it's been great the times I went, though it doesn't seem "first choice" with it being traditional chinese medicine, if you know what I mean. So yeah, get lots of recommendation from people I'd say.
  9. I've had it a few times and it helped me a lot for various aches and pains, but I think it also really depends on the person you go to, some are simply useless. For some things I only need to go once, for others another once or twice a few weeks later. I'd say it's defo worth a try.
  10. I'll need to check when I'm home, I might have a key left over. If I do you're welcome to it.
  11. Nice riding, enjoyed that! But it does now? Or are you saying that this discussion was pointless? sorry, really couldn't help myself
  12. 15:13 looks like Kriss missed it Brilliant video as always.
  13. Just looked up some reviews, love the little grub screws they've got on the calipers for alignment!

    Unite the tribes

Some absolutely brilliant stuff in there, not quite sure where to start. But the last line made me go "wow". I think I wouldn't even have seen it! Also, did the picnic table survive? And thanks for reminding me that I missed the Eluveitie gig a few months ago haha
  15. Maybe this from three threads down might help: :)

At 1:52 I thought "yeah, but you did that with your bars turned round why show it with them the right way rou.. - oh!" Also, that backwheel hop turndown, very nice! Enjoyable watch
  17. And then you get places like book depository. I ordered 8 books and for some reason they're arriving in 6 separate shipments..
  18. What's the water trick if I may ask?
  19. So, uh, what's up with this brand? Totally flew under my radar until I noticed a ton of people getting the same odd looking carbon frame. Seems like they're suddenly sponsoring people left and right even though then can't do four consecutive back wheel hops. (not having a dig at anyone really - some definitely are very capable riders, far better than me!) Also, how? I can't even seem to access their website currently. Suddenly made me feel quite like an old grumpy man wondering what this newfangled stuff is.
  20. I feel like It'd also be a bit of an odd construction for an air raid shelter really, especially with Anderson's and Morrison shelters available. Maybe it's some kind of ritualistic baby drowing thing or whatnot. The corners seem quite complicated for a simple trough, but what do I know.
  21. First thought was that it was for water/food for animals. Second thought is that I've got no clue. You could get it out and make a nice fountain out of it though. Any idea when all the soil got dumped on it?

    Arcade V1

Cheers! I had spent a while trawling wayback machine looking for the original specs and only found "Trialtech Sport stem". I'll be back measuring, I'm pretty sure I measured 80mm last night haha Called up Tarty earlier today about the drive train and they weren't quite sure, but thought that'd definitely work with a half link.

    Arcade V1

Hey guys, Was wondering if anyone has the spec sheet for my Arcade. First version, don't remember the year to be honest.. Mainly interested in what stem is on it as it's overdue replacement.. Not trusting my measuring skills and would like something to compare to. Also, I see on the new frames it's possible to run 22-16 as well as 22-15, was this the same on my frame or have the rear drop outs changed since? Otherwise I'll order a 16t ring too.
  25. Had the best ride in years. 5 hours and I expect that every single muscle in my body with ache tomorrow.. But who cares, nothing much else to do! Visited some spots I hadn't been to in ages. Reminded me of the good old days. or, well, the old days. Not sure if they actually were "good". haha Oh and I found this: https://theholophonics.bandcamp.com/album/maskarades-vol-13-yeah-but-also-check-out-our-original-music
