    Fufanu Tips

I'm gonna start learning fufanus, I've been close to doing them accidentally when landing pedal ups and Im okay at spins. I'm just wanting to find out if you guys have any tips ? also Ill be learning them on flat with a wall, not at a skatepark.
  4. Nice collection mate, are you riding/ living in bournemouth ?
  5. I havent had time to ride the past couple of weeks, just went out for a quick blast and thought I'd take some pics and post up my adjusted setup. So heres the new stuff: I've changed my front wheel and drive train, she rides so good I'm really happy especially with the new 18:14 ratio. It weighs 10.90 kg for anyone who's into weight. 6. As long as you can raise the front the rest will happen in time. Doing a small endo and rocking back is a pretty stable way of lifting the front as well if you haven't seen that. When your wheel is raised you have different body position sweet spots, you can stand right up and have the front wheel really high, or compress your body backward and lower the front wheel. A lower front wheel will give a lower centre of gravity and is easier to balance, but the squashed body position is a lot less maneuverable for hops. Stood high up is better for hopping about and good visibility for lining up. So experiment with what feels good for you, and use hops to correct your balance.
  7. I agree with him, Ive read Lee's books and the art of expressing the human body is something that I feel strongly about, I often think about it when I ride, but I'm too shit to do anything about it.
  8. Just grind it and wear headphones. also yellows aren't that loud compared to other pads, especially if you're snappy with them.
  9. cheers for the advice, ill give it a go.
  10. unfortunately its an 09, and Im running 22-16.
  11. Im thinking of filing my dropouts on my fourplay and it seems like a half link chain would make sense but I've heard they stretch loads, has anyone tried them ? Which chains stretch the least ? I'm using a KMC 510HX at the moment.
  12. your speed is amazing, great lines and great flow.
  13. theres a hampshire trials fb group if that helps ? http://www.facebook.com/groups/251876548219260/

Its so good to see a video that flows, everything was so smooth: Riding, directing, camera work, editing a real pleasure to watch.
  15. how is it now that you've moved to disk ? I would like to go disk too... one day.
  16. Pro 2 Front QR 100 Onza Hub Dia Left 56 38 Dia Right 54 38 Centre to Left 19.5 34 Centre to right 34 34 Spoke Hole 2.6 http://www.hopetech.com/webtop/modules/_repository/documents/OldHubDimensions.pdf Yes hubs are very different sizes use this calc I think its pretty easy... http://lenni.info/edd/ (Press the small enter your own measurements button) All you need is the ERD of your rim. If you wanna change lacing still calculate it, you only get +/- 2mm of tolerance, even then its annoying, spot on spokes are worth it, halo spokes are cheap and do the job. itll only be about £7.50 for them
  17. The cockpit size doesn't have anything to do with the wheel size. Some street bikes will have lower bb's than comp bikes so you aren't so lent over , but then they are shorter so you are just squashed a different way. Just try a high stem and bars with a big rise if you want more room, or maybe if your forks have been cut down loads get some with a longer stem and use stackers. It probably feels weirder because you are going about on two wheels, its fine if you spend all your time on the rear.
  18. The trains near me have special carriages for bikes, they are marked with a symbol outside (I think its 1 in 3 carriages, or the first and last). There is a rack in the carriage but they don't usually fit fat tyres. So you have to stand there and hold it. It may vary on other companies, but its fine to take bikes on as long as you use the designated area. I wouldn't leave my bike unattended.
  19. Some old man phoned the police because my 'brakes were too loud'. Needless to say they didn't turn up.
  20. I think putting them in the oven at 150 for 10 minutes is the usual way.
  21. one bottle will do,
  22. I guess BB7 probably aren't that powerful compared to really expensive hydraulic disc brakes, but their ease of adjustment means that in reality you can quickly set them up to run consistently in any environment. I find them far better than hydraulics for that reason, I can always run them at their maximum effectiveness.
  23. i think a brake needs to dissipate energy somehow, i.e. heat. so if it were teeth it would have to break something somewhere.
  24. I would write a letter to maxxis, not as a warranty claim just saying what happend and not asking for a new one. I do it with anything that breaks, I get a lot of free stuff in return.
  25. I ride the old fourplay as well and I would recommend it because the geo of the cockpit is so much more similar to other mtbs (dirt, park, freeride) than a pure trials bike. So you'll feel more at home and your skills are transferable. I think pure trials bikes are less tiring to learn moves on because they are so much lighter, but you get used to the weight. the inspired are way easier to bunnyhop manual and spin on though. So really just choose your bike based on what riding style you want to try. I love my fourplay and im well happy with it. also want to add that im basically a beginner too!
