  1. Or perhaps people are more inclined to talk about the things that make them angry?

    Forks

The Koxx, Toxsin, JB and Atomz forks all have that bonded steerer effort. The main problem is that the steerer tube tapers into the bonded area. Of course it's going to snap, what were they thinking? The new Echo Hi-Fi forks are really nice (www.selectbikes.com) so they might be worth looking at. What frame do you have?
  3. But that's what I'm talking about. £250 on a CG125, it'll be beans to insure and you won't loose a grand when you sell it to buy a car.
  4. Does anybody know of any decent, safe and reliable free FTP programs? I need a way of uploading large files to my webspace, and am too tight fisted to pay. I'm wary of downloading 'cracked' or pirate FTP programs from file-sharing communities. Thanks for any help.
  5. Waste of money. Look in the free-ad papers for a Honda CG125, or a 125 Yamaha. Those race-rep 50cc bikes are a bit shitty and just aren't worth the money when you'll want something faster or a car within a year or two. The Honda especially is a dead nice bike and they're easy to work on. Oh, and you'll only pay a few hundred quid for a really nice one...
  6. What, two of the best in the uk for bike/sport camera work? Mate, you haven't watched enough bike videos. If you want an example of good camera work go and watch Sprung, or watch some of Alex Rankine's stuff. Think perhaps we should have a new thread to bitch about video styles. As far as 'arty' stuff goes it can be over-done, like with really long shots of 'irrelevant' stuff. I thought with Seb's video one or two bits were like that, but the finished product (as I said before) was good. Although to be honest (and I'm not trying to create a ruck here...) when I watch a bike video it's the riding I'm interested in, and I was amazed at how Seb's progressing, having first met him before he had a proper bike, etc. And it's always nice to see someone who's put the effort in do well.

  8. It was one of Jonny's, as it happens... Think your point was that I was discussing it in a thread about a different video. Either way, I think I'm going to go outside now.
  9. Well, once I DIDN'T like a video and you slagged the shit out me. And for the record, I was a little thrown back.
  10. Yeah, at least a bit of meat would be nice...
  11. Theres a couple on the Gate Eight website.
  12. Oh right, so because he criticises something he's a prat? I think half the problem on this forum is people NOT being honest. Dan's just airing his opinion, in clear to-the-point English.
  13. If people are willing to buy something, there's every reason to sell. I saw an article having a go at 'conmen' who sold items on eBay with a 'Buy It Now' price higher than the current R.R.P. They're not conmen, they're just being a bit sly. If people are too stupid/lazy to do their research then more fool them.
  14. I've got a BEng and an MSc(Eng), although I'm not quite sure how... I currently work for a civil engineering company, although that's not what I studied and not where my career is going.
  15. Hope told me they wouldn't be out until the end of the year.
  16. I didn't notice going from 1018 to 1050 - that's a whole 3% longer. In fact, it depends on your size. I can hop higher on my new bike because it fits me (6'1") better. Component choice also has a lot to do with it. I find my 2.5" Azonics make bunnyhopping easy, but when I've tried riding bikes with Koxx bars I can't get anywhere because I feel like my weight is right over the front. Think about what you want to do on the bike, but make sure whatever you buy is FUN to ride too.
  17. I was told they were near Gravesend by someone who said he'd ridden the stuff. PM Ashton and ask him, although you might have to wait some time for a reply...
  18. It's just terminology. And don't feel pressured to say 'I love you too' the moment she first says it, which, if she's under 18, will be 5 mins after meeting you.
  19. You're meant to have a licence but you could be naughty. Think channel 9 is the emergency/rescue channel so don't dick about on that one. EDIT: The licence is if you want to transmit - think you're ok to listen
  20. Both the Identiti and DMR were street frames, and their geometry is quite out of date and they are heavier. The Czar is similar to the XTP and as such will be fairly expensive. For a first frame you'd probably be best looking in the 200-400 price range. The BT's are nice, but it might also be worth looking at the Toxsin and Onza frames if you want something fairly long (1090ish).
  21. If I'd known you were that keen I wouldn't have been so aplogetic last time I asked! Ok, then, this one's specifically for Adam... Hope XC (6 bolt), front, on a 32H Koxx rim
