  1. Ooooh. Sounds like it might be worth a shot then, hahahaha.
  2. How did you get on? What was the success rate like?
  3. Following on from a conversation I had at work today, I wanted to see what you guys would do. I was asked if I would go up to a total stranger on the street that I liked the look of, if they would go out for a drink with me. It was said, that according to the law of averages, if you asked enough people, eventually you would get a positive reply. Question is though, would you do it?
  4. I think the older you get, the worse it gets, until you have children of your own. This year is my neice's first Christmas, so hopefully that will spark a bit of life into it!
  5. Hahaha, I was SO close to doing that, but with a white bin liner, cotton wool, and red food dye. I wimped out in the end, knowing how hot it would be in the club!
  6. Tank top + big boxers + slippers + dressing gown + Haribo + friend dressed like a schoolgirl = damn good night as a kiddy fiddler! Fairly suprised I was actually let into the club to be honest!
  7. Regardless of what happens, don't do that. Memories are not something you can replace. It might feel good at the time to destroy pictures of her, but the second after you will regret it. Put them in a box or something, and hide them up.
  8. If you have the strut out already, why do you need compressors? Just buy a new top mount and bearing for each side, you'll probably beniefit in the long run, and they are cheap. When I did mine on the Toledo, I'm pretty sure they were under £20 for the whole lot. I would also be wary about taking out the adjuster. My car dropped ALOT more once they had settled, I was suprised. You may also find that you can't go down too far on the front, due to the ARB. On the Toledo it was fine, but on the A3, I could only go down about 50-60mm, before the driveshaft rubbed on the ARB You can get round this with a Whiteline ARB which goes under the driveshafts, in a similar layout to the R32/TT etc, but its costs £140+
  9. Everybody knows its bad web-ettiquete to advertise other forums on a forum. So sorry, but no thanks.
  10. Do you realise how many different combinations there are for that? He would literally be filming all year for it! I didn't watch it, but knowing Derren, it has to be something more ingenious than that.
  11. Not really a lot I can say to be fair.
  12. I would consider my car "modified", but not to the extent of the lads you see sitting in Maccy D's. I think its all down to personal preference in the end. Once you start spending more on the car modifying it, than you did purchasing it in the first place, you're onto a slippery slope. Its no secret that you will ALWAYS lose money modifying a car, very very rarely can you recoup the (often very expensive) costs invlolved in buying all the parts, simply because they are not worth it! Its my mind set, that no matter what car I have, I will always "modify" it, simply because I want to be different from the thousands of other cars out there. I like to think I'm an individual, and like my car to follow suit. Although, ironically, that is also what the majority of people my age also think, so the indivduality is somewhat taken away by that thinking! Your first few years, you will not be able to modify, insurance simply wont let you. Due to the stereotypical (but sadly, often correct) image that a modified car gives. I say wait a few years until you have a car that actually is worth something, rather than just sticking a set of lexus lights, and big wheels on some £500 Corsa.
  13. Don't do it. That's my advice. You might think now that 5 years is not a long time. You won't want to keep a car for 5 years, I promise you. When I was 19, I took a £2500 loan out to partially fund a car, to be paid over 2 years. It was £110 every month for 2 years. I wanted rid of the car by about 10 months. I ended up selling it at 18 months, and I had to continue paying the loan off for the remaining 6 months. Let me tell you, paying £110 a month for something you don't even own anymore is the most demoralising thing ever! Obviously thats just personal opinion though. If you want something that much, me saying that really isn't going to stop you! What sort of figure are you looking at taking a loan out on? You're right about the loan being better than finance though. At least if you take a loan out, you actually own the car outright. If you take finance, you don't technically own the car until the last payment has been recieved, so if anything goes wrong, you could potentially lose the car, and have nothing to show for it.
  14. Plus there's loads of fanny.
  15. I'd probably kill myself if I couldn't put a hat on my head square
  16. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I know this completely goes against anything I should do as a mod. But my god Kev, that was amazing!
