  1. You've seen hostel right? :-)
  2. Erm, not really and not really I'm afraid
  3. I get this every single day 16 years here now and It's still great to see something you conjured up in your head become reality.
  4. Could still be polypropylene, just quite often has a smooth and textured face
  5. It's likely to be polypropylene, does it have a smooth shiny side and a textured side?
  6. I can provide a localish quiet lawn to camp on the saturday night + van lift to and from the event if required
  7. It's sunday luke, get your arse signed up
  8. But did you accidentally a whole sealey mig?
  9. Congrats again, we waited till the moment to find out Persephone was a girl. Have you considered home water birth? Have a look into it, was f**king awesome although obviously medical conditions and Hayley being happy with it are paramount. Yell if you are interested in more info We're working on the attached parenting with P (the whole co-sleeping, self weaning, baby wearing hippy type of parents if you like) and it's great. Would also recomend cloth nappies if you have a decent tumble drier. I'll stop ranting, as @Bing said to me before P was born, it's the best thing that can happen to you and he was right
  10. Make sure this one doesn't blow up half way up the M6
  11. That sucks, we're all full up I'm afraid
  12. S-max passed the mot with nothing more than advisories for rear tyres getting close to legal limit. Obviously replacing the front dampers, rear arm bushes and exhaust flexi has cost in the region of 520 quid but hey it needed doing and it's good for another year edit: I'm working on the fairground at onslow park steam rally this weekend and saw a man with a "make the noise" t-shirt, instantly recognised it as a project binky shirt, made me smile
  13. Really, really daft question, have you copaslipped the back of the pads?
  14. Nope, just the 2.0 soot chucker, 140 bhp but apparently they're normally up on that and some standard ones have been recorded at 150+. I like my 50mpg too much for the 5 cylinder volvo lump
  15. The exhaust flexi on the s-max has been blowing for a while, giving it a somewhat tractorish rattle on acceleration and affecting to torque from low revs. Ford in their infinite wisdom decided to weld the flexi onto the manifold and it's completely non-servicable, a replacement manifold runs to about 800+ quid. Local ford place recommended mij exhausts in Walsall and they cut out the old one, flanged the manifold made up a new flexi and fitted it all for 115 quid! Drive in drive out, took the mountain bike and did 18ish miles over to Sandwell trails whilst they did it As a curious side effect, the new flexi appears to resonate just as the turbo spools and gives it a bit of low down rumble tl : dr, exhaust got fixed and is now louder because racebus!
  16. I doubt you'll find any complete engineering drawings of a frame, simply due to IP and copyright reasons. Better to model it yourself taking measurements from an existing frame. I wouldn't want to be modelling in autocad either, I dare say it's progressed from when I last used it for 3D but there are far better programs out there
  17. A quick thought, you do have washers under the bolt heads don't you? If not then tightening the nuts against the dropout will cause it to move. Always nip up non-drive side first, then push the wheel sideways (near the BB) to centralise the wheel and tension the chain, nip up and tighten the drive side and then non-drive. Adjust till you get correct chain tension and wheel alignment. If the frame is slightly out of alignment I wouldn't bother trying to straighten it if you can get the wheel properly aligned and chain tensioned
  18. Too many pies What is it?
  19. Generally yes, 99% of them are a pressurised air cartridge (same as air suspension forks) with either a mechanical collet/clutch or a hydraulic lockout system to set the height. Most are cable operated with a remote to the handlebars, the rockshox reverb is a hydraulic line remote which can complicate things but is less maintenance intensive (no cable lubing). Press the button and your weight pushes the seat down, press it again and the air spring will push it back up when you unweight the saddle.
  20. Dropper posts are as said a revelation, it's the ability to seamlessly adjust seat height on the fly that makes them so useful. It doesn't take 3 seconds though - stop the bike, get off, get the seat to the right height (and straight) get back on and continue pedalling down the the drop off in front of you, once you've done said drop off you have to repeat the process to go up the next hill. With a dropper it becomes a subconscious thing, spot the drop off, seat is instantly down and up again afterwards without even a break in pedalling. Yes they're heavy (relatively) and expensive but one of those things that once you've used you don't want to be without
  21. I'm in Lichfield although truth be told I've not ridden my trials bike in a couple of years due to work and life commitments. Wouldn't hurt to dig the bike out the cupboard though, just limited with time right now Dunno how familiar you are with the Lichfield spots but obviously aldi rocks, beacon park and the chapel lane park are best locations.

    Tubeless?

Tubeless ready rims still require sealing over the spoke holes (with gorilla tape) but have the UST compliant section which helps retain the seal and the bead. I believe that full UST rims are solid with no spoke through holes, as such they hold air without the tape. This is stolen from WTB who have TCS (Tubeless Compatible System) on their rims and explains it pretty simply. I've been using this with michelin wildgrip'r tyres for the last couple of years without any issues, the bead lock and on ramp are lifted straight from Mavics UST standard and facilitate mounting the tyres but don't require a WTB TCS specific tyre to work.
  24. Done, got nothing on the phrases and only a few words Perhaps I should have answered to cut your ears off
