  1. It's all a matter of quality. From what I'm lead to believe, factories will make these freewheels up to a certain standard - either a cheapish version which looks the same but performs poorly, or a more expensive version which has superior performance. Trialtech could be a good example, the first freewheels were pretty poor but now they're noticably better, even the feel out of the box is superior. Bonz also has very high quality versions of this freewheel, compared to the old Rockman 72/6 it becomes quite apparent that they're miles apart. I'm guessing it's all one factory, could be wrong though considering how much copying there is going on in China.
  2. What's wrong with them? They are two completely different fonts. The a is a completely different style, t,r,e,s is completely different too. I get where all this negativity is coming from but whoever thinks one is a rip off the other is a bit of a twit. As for the bike, it looks a bit wrong to me.
  3. The first half would be a pretty decent setting for a porn movie. It made me mildly disturbed when the person in wrapping turned out to be a guy. Watched it to the end, I take that back. That was one of the most disturbing things I've seen all year.
  4. I'm against it for one reason - it's the wrong way to do it. Example - if you want to stop people from stealing in supermarkets, you don't ban supermarkets, nor do you ban the public from entering them. You introduce security and raise people's awareness while retaining their freedom to do what they want. The guy in the video spoke about Valve's viewpoint - that to stop piracy, better service needs to be provided by retailers. That's so true from my point of view, many years ago I used to download illegal software (mostly games) but now I prefer to buy them from Steam purely because it's easy and I don't have to mess around with cracks, viruses, slow downloads and other inconveniences.
  5. Nope, but I recently had some sort of crap on my PC (which ended up with a format because I couldn't get rid of it) which redirected me to all sorts of sites without the address bar changning. So for instance, I could have TF in the address bar and be on some website full of ads. It was the same story with searching in Google, would click on a result and be redirected somewhere else.
  6. Try a different browser, or better - a different computer. There's lots of nasty malware out there which could even redirect you onto a dodgy PayPal website copy without you knowing it. edit: also, have you tried entering a credit card number? Just write any number in and make sure it ends with the 2 digits they need. If it goes through, it's dodgy.
  7. Clearly you've ended up on a phising website, not on PayPal.
  8. It was an analisis of the sidehop (or so I understand) so perhaps that would explain why there were a lot of sidehops in that video. I gather this is just a video that documents the process of your work and that all the findings are written down in the form of a dissertation or something? None the less it seemed very professional. Top work.
  9. It's not Kim Jong ill, it's Kim Jong Dead.
  10. I think you'll find a normal human will struggle to lift both wheels off the ground at the same time
  11. Good and bad. 7/10 probably. + sort of finished uni + business going incredibly well + sorted out all financial difficulties + did a lot of riding and took it seriously + got really fit + traveled a lot + got back into motorsport + winter isn't that bad - mono infection which has pretty much f**ked everything from the middle of september up till now, not fit anymore, can't really ride, can't attend ma etc. - car took ages to complete and it's giving a lot of trouble - still no gf
  12. Ok I must say this because it's driving me mad. Who the f**k thinks it's a good idea to put this f**king stupid music that sounds like a robot vomiting into more and more trials vids? I'm tolerant when it comes to music but this crap I can't stand and the worst thing about it is that it's spreading like a disease.
  13. It's going to be a hassle all round, except on mods maybe? On every single stock wheel and frame I've used in the past 6 years (when I turned away from mod bikes) the rim has had a tendency to shift about 1mm to the right under heavy load from the drivetrain. I'm pretty convinced that others who run lightweight wheels will confirm this. The stiffer the wheel, the less likely this is to happen - so Urban rim, Alpine spokes and a Bonz hub - you're ok. Secondly, they say that the pad can be pushed in very easily so even if the rim rubs against it, it will not cause any braking force to be applied. That's fine, but remember that as with disc brakes, every time you push the pads back in, the brake needs to re-align itself - this is done by pushing the lever in a few times. With this rim brake it would mean that every time the pad is pushed in (in the case of a light wheel this would be every time you do a big gap), you'll have to press the brake lever in order to re-align the pads else you will get pad contact at the very end of the lever travel. Now imagine you have to do this during a gap. Thirdly, the clearances suggest a lot of mechanical advantage in this brake which means a very soft brake lever. I once ran Magura slaves with a Deore M525 lever and while that had immense braking power, the lever had absolutely no feel whatsoever. It was difficult to tell when the brake would release. For this to feel good, you'd need special very hard pads and some super stiff boosters. That said, I'm all for this design, it will be interesting to see how it performs.
  14. Only when it comes to food. Anything other than marmite must be evenly spread on bread - I'm properly anal about the surface being perfectly smooth right up to the edges and will refuse to spread anything that won't grant a perfect result. Something that's an absolute no-go would be jam with pieces of fruit. These pieces of fruit make the surface all bumpy and as a result renders the toast inedible.
  15. Nope. And whatever you do, don't video tape it before joining in. And definitely don't then share the video with Trials Forum, that would be plain stupid and I'm sure nobody on here would want to watch that. I just thought you'd want to know.
  16. As far as rear discs go, I've hated them on 26" bikes. They make the bike feel all wobbly. On a mod they're ok but wouldn't be my personal choice. I love the bite of Maguras especially when you're releasing the brake. When it's off, it's off. Disc brakes have an intermediate state where they're dragging a bit, I find it rather hard to get used to when riding DD mods. It's all a matter of preference, I like my bikes to be sharp, stiff and responsive and in such a setup there's no room for disc brakes.
  17. Very good riding indeed, lots of precision moves.
  18. Ride the Zip until you have more money to spend. Save up and get something nice for the spring
  19. I love the CBO burger. Unfortunately it only appears in the spring. edit: I want a CBO soooo bad now... damn you Rusevelt!
  20. Isn't that some message written in a hexadecimal system? Or is there more to it?
  21. I wish more girls rode trials. Not that I have anything against all my riding buddies being male, but it could be rather fun if there were some girls in there too.
  22. Hypothetically, if you had a passenger with you in the car who didn't buckle his seatbelt, wouldn't you point it out to him? Or would you just carry on onto the motorway thinking that if he wants to be ejected through the front windscreen in the unlikely event of an accident, it's his problem. Personally I don't like to see people get hurt. That's why it makes me slightly annoyed when I see a rider without a helmet.
