It's all the ads, conversations and decorations before and after that f**k me off... I guess I prefer to consider the world in a different way whereby life in general is special rather than particular days. Additionally, I feel that in the sense that Christmas is a construct, to get into it would require a type of acting. Although, in general, life is seeming more and more like an act of sorts. No doubt I shall recieve flak for this view. However, I will admit to enjoying the Christmas eve drinks with all my school mates back at the same time.And of course, the fact that Christmas is so immersed in commercialism does make it even more undesirable. Not to mention it's an excuse to get drunk in the day, watch shit movies an eat till you think you're gonna explode.Plus the fact that it generally means empty streets which lend themselves well to riding/painting/all sorts of illegal activities. All the people that I know who have moved away or are at uni are back and the pub has a great atmosphere.I don't really like Christmas, I guess its cool to get all the family together but its just the same old thing year after year. How ever, now getting older I don't want the presents. I just want my friends and family having a good time, enjoying nice food and watching seasonal stuff on TV.
