  1. Sweet riding, I'd love to have a place like that near where I live.
  2. Just seen this, pretty decent trials on a fatbike.
  3. Think this vid clinched it, you are now my favourite rider hands down. So sick
  4. I would totally give this a go, right down my alley. Pity this sort of event will never come to Ireland. Don't think my Commencal likes the way I ride it though.....
  5. My neon bow creaked as well from the BB area. I couldn't find any source for it either. I've since got an inspired and. using all of the same componants and no creaking. I think some frames just creak. Not much you can do about it.
  6. Yeah I'm doing a demo tomorrow so I'll be keeping the brakes on for that but after I think I might take em off for a while. I've been doing a good bit of skatepark riding on a bmx so I'll try out this there.
  7. So more from me over in Ireland, been wanting an inspired for ages now so went and got one. Some of you eagle eyed folk may recognise the frame and guess who it belonged to before me. Anyways here it is with and without brakes, photos aren't as great as I'd like since I was only using my phone at the time. Hope you like it, I do
  8. As far as I know you're not supposed to reverse levers unless they're designed to do so. Usually marketed as flip flop levers, they generally have bleed ports on both sides. That one doesn't look like it should be used upside down. Saying that I'm not exactly sure what goes wrong if you do use them the wrong way up, they'll leak or not work great I'd say.
  9. Yup I'm based in Limerick and I'm good friends with Cormac. Theres also a guy who's moved up to Dublin and I'm pretty sure he still does some trials. I can let him know you're looking for someone to go out riding with if you want?
  10. So not exactly a trials video but hey it's Chris Akrigg and this one is pretty awesome.
  11. A good mate of mine is planning on cycling round the world next year. He's already cycled across eastern europe and north africa/the middle east so he has a lots of experience. I can hook you up with contact details if you want.
  12. I've been running them since last June, even spent a week in the Alps with em and they never let me down once. Why anyone would need to spend more I don't know. I think the only benefit of the more expensive shimano's is better modulation. The slx's aren't as bad as say maguras for on/off effect but they take a little getting used to. First time my mate tried my bike out he almost went over the bars cause he was used to avids.
  13. I've got slx's on my DH bike and I can't fault them, you certainly won't be upgrading them later for lack of power. While I admit I did go through a phase of really wanting an Orange I can't believe nobody mentioned a Commencal Meta or any Commencal for that matter. I've got two friends with Metas and I've got a smaller 120mm travel Super 4 for more xc/enduro riding. They're great bikes and don't seem to suffer any noticeable suspension drawbacks. Anyways I hope you enjoy your new bike, passion red would've been the colour I'd have picked as well.
  14. For a laugh I put my echo tr disk rim on my xc/enduro bike for a spin the other day. Didn't have any problems with it and I'm pretty sure the wider rim gave me more grip. The only downside I can think of and my mate stated it on the day is that sticks could end up going through the holes and bursting the tube. Didn't happen to me though.
  15. Wait guys, if it's not a bike then it's not illegal to "ride" on the pavement and associated obstacles with it. I bet that was their angle all along.
  16. Maybe so but thats about a four to five hour drive away for us. Anyway there hasn't been much progress for us since most of our riders have moved to get jobs and I'm the only regular rider left in the area.
  17. Wow that crash just before the music kicked in was pretty huge. Lucky he wasn't hurt and fair play for giving that line another go and nailing it.
  18. That last clip is nuts, takes balls to try that.
  19. Holy crap, that was some of the best riding I've ever seen, from anyone. Clearly the arcade suits Ali really well and the riding seems so natural. There were a lot of awesome lines in there but that last one from post box to rail made me go whaaaaaat.
  20. Worked fine for me right away. Still working great year and a half later.
  21. Wow, still one of my favourite riders. Love his gaps with a 180 or 360 thrown in. Slo-mo was pretty awesome too.
  22. Can you make it to Limerick? I'm based around there and there's some pretty good riding spots. I've been riding there almost three years so could show you around. There's a couple more of us around as well.
  23. A bit late to the party but I just bought a commencal super 4 because I wanted a xc bike I could race with but still have fun on. It's light and has lockout on front and rear suspension so is great for xc and when you drop the saddle it'll handle most downhill stuff. Not as durable as a meta but much better for commuting. They're out of production but you may be lucky to pick one up second hand.
  24. I'm the same hight and have a 08 kona stinky in medium and it fits me fine. I wouldn't really go for a large DH frame unless your over 6ft, too cumbersome. You want something you can throw around and control. The stinky is a pretty heavy bike but it'll take all the abuse you can give it. Go for it.
