Went out on mod for first time since breaking my foot yesterday. I really couldn't get used to it after riding the inspired. Is this where i need a 24" compy bike?

i only rode my 24 tgs ee , i done no spins or anything so i got a stock and like it a lot better for what i do
-
I reckon you need to be going for Zoot Pro geometry to keep it functional on 2 wheels and the rear wheel.
-
Another vote on the zoot, the one i rode was best of both worlds :)
-
I used to like looking for a new pair of glove's.. With it being my 4th set this year it's kinda pissing me off..

I'm on my second EVER pair of gloves. (Fox ones both times) I can definitely recommend them.
-
My revs started falling apart within the first month of having them and I'm not exactly a regular rider. Had a pair of Fox ones before that as well which did last a year but spent most of that year with holes at the end of the fingers. Old skool Mechanix gloves are where it's at!
-
Fox were the first gloves i bought, and they were too big so jim has them. And still no hole's, so fox are good! But he don't fall off as much as me :P
-
Do i, A: Stick with my current cranks and 22-16 ratio. Or, B: Put some trial techs on my inspired and run 18-12? Really don't know what i wanna do.

22-15 as god intended
-
22-16 is perfect, dont throw it away!
-
Switch to front freewheel and enjoy the sheer excitement of getting your jeans engulfed by your chain and freewheel when they get involved with each other at high speeds.
-
Has my browser crashed or has the trial forum logo actually disappeared!

I'm on chrome and it's fine for me
-
keeps going on and off for me
-
meh, no matter less distance to scroll down page :p
-
Offically had the worst bail i've ever had on a bike, on the way home from work. I hurt :(

I was expecting something like "fell from the top of the moonrocks to the bottom" or "slipped off the sea wall and fell 20ft to the beach"
-
yeah, i think i wouldn't be doing that on my way home from work for one, point two i would also be in hospital. So yeah unfortunately i'm not going to try harder...
-
:P
-
Do you know what really annoys me, seeing people on unscratched & still brand new after 6 months trials bikes. Sat in the park looking cool... I mean really? More money than sense comes to mind!

The problem is that if money is no object then they can buy a really nice set up. I'm not sure about you Dan, but i've been riding for over 12 years and I started on a 17" mountain bike, upgrading to a 14" jump bike and changing parts, with my first trials bike being a Leeson clear 660 4 years after I started riding trials.
-
...but trials isn't cool in the first place so I don't see how these guys think having a scratch free bike will improve things :D
-
God knows andrew.. And I did the same as you nick, in a shorter space of time.
-
WTF is with the inspired element fork's.. Am i seriously going to need a 1" starnut..

Do what Cap says!
-
Already thought of this, where would i get em tapped though? i have one of those top caps in the shed and everything
-
Check that the top cap doesn't just fall in the steerer first then you know it can be done, you would need to find someone with an m18 x 1 tap :P
-
Wtf.. CRC just gets worse by the day, they have dispatched my tyre only.. Out of 5 items ordered, why do it like that? It's the flaming pig bearings i need not the tyre dammit!
- Show previous comments 3 more
-
:/ Now i do feel silly, Cap told me to do the same. And i chucked away the bearing cage with bearings in it, that i had crushed. Would i not need an extra bearing or two to account for the missing cage?
-
Yes you will need a few more bearings but it will work like a beast like I said :P I ran one for a few years like that.
-
Just noticed, it's still going, it's in my xc bike now.
-
Sod's law.. Set to have brakes fitted for the 16th of this month. And I'm just starting to learn footjam tailwhips. Really torn as to whether to go for brakes or not... HELP!!

Braided hoses are much harder to damage.

This right? And can you still water bleed with braided hose?
-
Yep, I had a braided water bled brake.
-
What a piss take... Been clear but cold most the week. I bring the Go Pro home to get filming for the curb comp! And it f**king pisses it down!

-
I can't even a nice enough curb :(
-
find you mean? If you read the rules it doesn't have to be a curb. Just a single spot, and camera angle.. i think need to re read it all myself to be honest
-
woops, yea find I meant. A curb's the only spot I think I'm going to get that I can really session for hours though, this comp's pretty tactical
-
Hop manual's baby!! And nailed every line i tried on camera today. Happy Gal!!!

-

-
Ok, so i really scared myself on Saturday! Trying to do something for get creative (can't reveal what it was) But i fell, hit my head and I'm sure i have squashed my helmet!

Do you know what the outline font is? And you legend!
-
could be "dope jam" but edited afterwards.
not quite sure
-

-
Grrrr i need a Mac.. Or at least a copy of adobe prem! This laptop is POO!
- Show previous comments 1 more

yeah but a mac handles editing better than a pc, and i meant a pc version of prem :P

just because its a mac doesnt make it better at editing than a pc. urban legends.

Funny thought for frame repair. Jaf Bikes does carbon setting thingy, why not wrap thick layers of duct tape?
- Show previous comments 1 more
-
Carbon looks cool, and is effective. Duct tape is ghetto and wouldnt be so effective!
-
Even still it might work.. Duct tape is amassing :P
-
surely carbon is more structually capable than duct tape, though? Surely the frame would just flex at the snapped point, whereas carbon prevents travel between the two 'halves'?
-
Ahh test day riding the new bike, brakeless without injuury ^_^ & my balance is deffo improving did a 7-8ft ride along on a 4" wide ledge
- Show previous comments 1 more
-
nice, are you running the frame with the dodgy holes? :)
-
Unfortunately yes! Never know it might do me some good. I'm being super careful not to bash! So smoother riding and hence no injury :P
-
a dodgy frame make you ride better :P
-
Might start knitting again, anyone want a chainstay protector :P
- Show previous comments 1 more
-
Nit like a jumper to go all over the frame :p
-
Already thought of that one cal! It's a tempting prospect for the winter.
-
go for it ill have one :)
-
People will laugh at me for this one.. Buuuut Inspired fork's... Forplay or element.. I have an Element frame but i like the fourplay forks better would i be daft to buy them. And they are cheaper!!
- Show previous comments 1 more
-
Had overlooked that! Element forks it is then! Ideally want mountless :P
-
Should have pestered Duncy H, he's got a set of proper brakeless Inspired team forks on his Hex if he hasn't sold it yet
-
does he... I haven't paid for owt yet, as i'm waiting to borrow some cash!
-
hopping sideways onto a wall from two wheels. Sidehop or Bunnyhop?
- Show previous comments 1 more
-
Classic sidehop
-
If your rolling and don't put power into the drivetrain i'd say bunny hop... with power i'd say sidehop..
-
I'm stationary when i hop, and yeah im putting all my power into my front foot!
-
WTF!! Why can't i back wheel hop with brakes, yet brakeless not a problem...? I'm such a weirdo
-
Cause your too used to holding the front low?
-
*shrugs* I don't really know, i don't think my manuals are low, and when i do drop off's i get the bike quite high. To brakeless hop i have to hop into it, then i can continue to hop. Only started doing them today on the flat, had never tried to do it brakeless before and was like wow!
-
Nothing weird about it. Youve grown used to not having to use brakes. Going back to them means you have to get used to applying and releasing the lever again at the correct times.
-
-
Will Vimeo upload intime...!!!
-
Inspired now booked in the paint shop! Muhahahaha
-
f**k it.. gonna spray the inspired pink.. Frame & forks or just frame
-
I thought people loved trial tech disc only forks...?
