the medical benefits are indeed a complete unknown as far as just what it can be manipulated to treat, from an alternative to opiates for pain relief to eating disorders it should undoubtedly be exploited for its benefits to medicine, after all, other illegal substances have. hemp and cannabis are very different, hemp is grown for its fibers and cannabis for the trichomes (the bits that contain the cannabinoids). most strains of hemp have low to none thc (pretty sure this was started in america to stop stoners stealing a commercial crop or to conform with regulations) meaning it wont get you stoned. i quite sure some people in the uk have licenses to grow hemp in the uk for commercial purposes, like for the raw material not the drug side of the plant species (and i know of one place that has a license to grow for medical research). i thought i read ages ago it was down to the cotton trade in the us as to why it was made illegal in the first place, there are plenty of quotes of old american presidents and the like who smoked weed before laws where passed. making it legal now would be a nightmare with no regulation, it wouldn't work, decriminalization for personal use and medical research is the way forward.

its also worth noting that most people can't seem to distinguish the difference between recreational use and addiction when it comes to an illicit substance, you can drink alcohol and not be an alcoholic. justifying its illegality by saying its a gateway drug is bollocks, i drank ale and smoked cigs way before i smoked weed. laws will never change, that would be an admission by the government that they where wrong and the backlash of unjust convictions would be crazy if it was to be legalized. maybe decriminalizing it for personal use is a possibility and i suspect people would be more likely to seek help for addiction issues if the stigma was lifted, however this would undoubtedly open the floodgate for people wanting all the other illegal substances to treated the same also.

fishing bait is the material use you chose to rep cannabis/hemp with? surely you could have gone with the carbon positive hempcrete or other building materials, fabrics ect. not sure any 'truth' is being kept from anyone, people with me/ms have been campaigning about the benefits of cannabis for time. its mainly down to the public perception of it, anything to do with weed turns you into a lazy brain dead mong or a schizophrenic is the general perception.

living costs are not the same through out the world. the uk is probably one of the most expensive places to live, mainly due to all the costs that our government adds to everything. comparing how cheap things are in russia to the uk by using gdp as a base are so wrong, have you checked how many rubels are to a pound? (1 rubel = 2p) so anything compared to gdp will seem cheap to you. you have a glamorous view of the uk, not sure where you have got it from but its wrong imo (and i live in the uk) its a wildly expensive place to live and if you work for the minimum wage you are classed as being below the poverty line. we're not all millionaires like seem to be suggesting, i wish i could afford to buy a house and the reality of live in the uk is very different from the documentary you must have watched to get the opinion of the uk you have.

did you try soapy water? oil can be a bitch to remove you only need the tiniest bit on the disc/pads and it has drastic consequences, if you only used water and wiped it you just end up smearing it around.

springs and pawl are the same as the xc and bulb, but the bulb hubshell came with a 36 ep ratchet thing in it rather than the 21ep the mono has. there is a bulb in the fs for 15 notes, you could swap all the bits over and get the extra ep's couldn't see how you could mod it other than machining the freehub body to a 6 pawl system, but you'd still be better doing that with a bulb hub shell on and getting 72 ep

you should go dual disc as for paint, its more important to do it right rather than buying the best paint. ie shit job with good paint vs good job with shit paint, the one with the effort into it will be the better one . your local paint shop will be best to advise you on paint and 2pac is normally more resistant to abuse than cellulose/acrylic ect paint, the paint i got from the quid shop went on ok and has a nice finish to it but i can't say anything about its longevity as of yet. but rims tend to be safer from scratching than other parts.

if the caliper will clear a 200mm rotor there will good chance it will clear a 203mm one too. bearing in mind that a 203mm is 1.5mm bigger than a 200mm (by a radius measurement) so if it was to catch you could slap some washers between the caliper and adapter/mount to gain the extra bit if clearance is an issue (post mount caliper).

what's wrong with the xt-tr setup? works kick ass for me, and i get matching levers which is a must. words can't explain how happy i am with the tt forks, mainly as i could ditch the clunky looking +20 adapter. not sure what it is, but i have a hatred for silver forks and stems. the new colour scheme is so much nicer imo. have a 24 and your mod a bike for more than one occasion haha.
