  1. I ran a CK when i got my first Hydroxx without snailcams, had no issues with wonkyness or it moving in the dropouts. Takes a little fiddling to get it all perfect, but it's not rocket science.
  2. Not really a 26" 'trials' bike though is it....
  3. "They're". But if you rode a bike with proper size wheels you'd understand that discs aren't a lot of kop for stocks. A little finesse wtih your tools and some properly installing parts goes a long way to stopping things from stripping/ cross threading.
  4. Some drugs are only available through prescription, I take a fair whack of nerve pain killers which I obviously only pay my fixed prescription charge for (I actually have a pre paid prescription certificate so it costs a bit less), but the drugs in question cost a whole lot more per pack than I am paying. Drugs companies have huge R&D costs in the drugs and a limited period of time to recoup these cost and make a profit, hence the reasoning some drugs cost silly silly amounts. Other drugs are a lot cheaper, but they're generally the older and more frequently used drugs that any pharmaceutical company can produce due to the patent rights having expired.
  5. Gilles Coustellier is an animal!

  6. Pretty sure there are a whole load of parts you could happily upgrade and save more weight on, hardly a "no expense spared" build, a damn nice on though indeed.
  7. It's not really old at all. It's a Rockman Switch (as it says on the downtube) not a Slate, quite a nice bike for the money. Although what are the wheels?

    Beards

Not strictly true, i had a mate that had to shave every morning with the teachers at year 8 camp, he was 12. Were not talking bum fluff here, but a proper "big bushy beard!".
  9. Well this looks familiar.... You seem to be getting on with it too. Just get that silly tyre off!
  10. What bar and stem set up do you currently have?
  11. That'll be why then. You aren't the first to have them go there. And if it's been rewelded at the point there will be a heat affected zone that is likely to go again. Rewelded cracks can go instantly or last ages, depending on the alloy, where they are and who welded it. Bit of a bugger though.
  12. Was it rewelded or did you remove all the paint? I know Josh Kydds went there too; but his was used and abused for a far while. Did you get it brand new?
  13. Ones a fresh products the other is a RB lever blade.
  14. The price gap between even a 2nd hand diesel and a petrol version of the same car means that unless you're doing loads of miles and keep the car for long enough you'll never recoup the difference. It's why I went for a petrol load lugger. The price premium for a diesel 2nd hand car is just silly! Especially as it's nigh on 10p a litre more expensive....
  15. It's fine mate I was pulling your leg, irrespective of the bike being mine almost 6 years ago and it still having most of the bits I had on it I'm in no disillusioned state that I would get anything back now! Unfortunately our friend Rusevelt failed to grasp this; but then I don't think we need to say any more about his "input" to the forum. It's a bloody nice bike and I was gutted when some pikey b*****d nicked it. Somebody from Somers Town pinched it and then it's been through a few people in the Southsea area. Don't sell it though dude, just enjoy it! There weren't many made in black, originally the forks matched too.
  16. It's a Hydroxx 2, they have the additional CNC gussets between the top tube and seat stays.
  17. Was like watching a video from 5 years or so ago; minus the black and white slow-mo. Loads of power and big moves but made for nasty nasty viewing.
  18. You're in a safe group Adam, feel free in confidence that you can share this experience Taunton isn't all that bad... could have been Bridgwater. On a side if you live in Cornwall, Devon or Somerset everywhere is "up north".
  19. Don't know if he is stocking them, but he's certainly able to get them to order.
  20. Andee, everything he said was true...... General consensus with carbon parts: If you're a basher- don't get them. If you crash a lot- don't get them. If you don't see yourself in those categories then go ahead and buy some, I've had mine for over 18 months and they're still going strong; for piece of mind I'll replace them when they get to 2 years old, but i'll do that with any bars. Now pipe down.
  21. Maxxis for the rear (highroller ST or wet scream ST) and will and hope are the only things that will give you grip on the front
  22. Looks good Sam, hopefully will last you
  23. Bloody wish i could justify/ afford the £300 on a set of forks they are damn sexy though! Unfortunately new cranks and BB are needed first. And Steve of course you can I have a feeling Lukes will be lightest
