  1. Loving the colour combo! Whats the cost of this sort of spoke set up and is it that much lighter than steel spokes? How come you're going with a Pro4 and not a Pro 5? Like the idea of running a freehub on my mod.

    New Hope Pro 5

Do agree, really impressed with my Tech4 Trials brakes. What's the issue with the Pro IV hubs? I was considering getting one modded to 116mm spacing when my FW dies.
  3. Bike looks awesome, apart from the forks Have you tried it with the current headset and the Crewkerz forks for comparison?
  4. You can probably space the cages and jockey wheels to make it more compatible with wider chains. The main issue you might face is the clearance of the top jockey wheel to the larger 18t sprocket you're looking at running.
  5. The Tech4 lever has a smaller 9.5 mm piston, rather than the older levers that we're 10 mm. So a small change
  6. I wont be looking elsewhere, Plusnet now do full fibre to the home. Which as you don't need a landline works out the same sort of price for 5x faster speeds than i'm currently getting. Bit of a no brainer really
  7. I've been with Plusnet for 7 years for exactly the same reason. Good value for money, good customer service and a good product. Only looking else where as I can now get full fibre at our new address.
  8. Looks so nice Alex, have you got any photos of clips of the repair you did with the crack? Would love to see that too Little wheeled bikes rule!
  9. That's really crap makes a massive difference to what you pay, hope you find a good deal. We're really lucky, we bought our house in February this year and got a 5 year fixed rate at 1.9%, hoping interest rates are back near that when i come to renew.
  10. Rates have risen dramatically for loans, not so sure about mortgages; we were waiting a few weeks for some quotes to sort our roof out and in that time the interest rate on loans to pay for it the work jumped from 4.5 to 7.8%
  11. Nice to see you're enjoying the new bike, the silence of discs rule!

    Target 2021

Having split my chin open several times from riding trials I can understand why you'd want to wear a full face. I can't imagine wearing one though myself, are you using a lighter weight enduro spec full face?
  13. Doesn't seem to be a very practical solution that's for sure. I can't see the police having much appetite to enforce it either, they can't catch burglars or muggers, so I doubt they'll be running after cyclists for not having a number plate.
  14. Trains are shit, get a car..... or is it not quite that simple? You do make it sound easy to just go out and find a job that offers adequate pay and decent conditions etc. I mean, if that's the case what are all these people striking and moaning about.... What are they supposed to pay the bills with whilst they're looking for these readily available well paid jobs? You sound a little like an entitled Tory politician, life is not as simple and clear cut as you seem to believe or are making out.
  15. It's not as simple as leaving one job and getting another, a lot of the people that end up striking over pay and conditions are in specialist fields that require skills that aren't always transferable to other careers. They also feel that they should get paid adequately for their specialist skills/qualifications/experience. Others are in jobs where the conditions, shift patterns and/or pay don't provide for what most would consider a reasonable quality of life. What's wrong with expecting a job to pay you sufficiently to be able to survive? Or provide you with a contract that states you will be paid for a fixed number of hours every week rather than zero hours contracts? A lot of jobs have have had pay freezes for extended periods of time, or if they have been "lucky" a pay rise that doesn't track with inflation. On the flip side there are the minority that just want to strike because they're demanding money when they're already in a well paid/compensated job. There's plenty of money out there, it's just not very fairly distributed.

    Films!?

Watched the new predator film yesterday "Prey", was really good, certainly much better than the rest since the original. Also saw Black Phone which i enjoyed too.
  17. That looks stunning, very envious!
  18. Mini update: Bought some Maestro carbon forks from Joe Seddon (thank you). They're tapered steerer so had to use a lower adapter headset, so the geometry has been altered. In my books a win as I was looking at a new frame anyway... higher BB, wb is the same, guess its a marginally slacker head angle.
  19. As you say things should hopefully improve with use. It's not the face of the mounts, its the fact that the mount has not been welded square and the caliper is right on the edge of it's positional adjustment. I'll try some more fettling and hopefully it'll improve When I spoke to Hope a month or so ago they said that they were concentrating on the current full brake orders and that levers wouldn't be available until the end of the year. That's why I bit the bullet and bought full brakes rather than upgrading my old trial zone brakes. Are the stock Hope pads still the same old compound? Thought i'd read that they were a new "race compound", Contemplating Jitsie or TT pads as my next purchase if they are the same old pads.
  20. I did find the fittings i bought for another disc brake were a bit off, maybe i'll just leave as is. I just enjoy pimping my bike out, my Magura Ti fittings were spot on and leak free for years I'll be honest i've really struggled to get the brakes 100% square to the disc, so this is probably why i'm having a slightly squishy lever. Doesn't help with the QC of trials parts, my frames post mount isn't totally square
  21. They definitely are a bit different to the previous levers, but i do prefer the feel. Mine have a good positive bite point and then a bit of squish after. Guess it's the longer lever combined with the slightly smaller piston diameter. I've tried bleeding them multiple times and no change, so they are as they are i guess! Unless there's a trick to bleeding them i don't know about... Do you also find that the pads sit very very close to the disc? Might also be a side effect of the smaller master cylinder piston size. Thanks for the info on the Ti bits, strangely enough that's where i had been looking; good to know about the bleed nipples though... shame as I do love the Ti bits, my OCD may give me a migraine if i have to leave them as steel lol!
  22. Not much of a solution as there is an obvious design fault, but you could get a custom axle machined up in in steel (hollow to save a bit of weight) or Ti?
  23. They look lovely! Where did you get your Ti fitting kit from? Ti bits and some Jitsie/Trialtech pads are next on my list for upgrades They really are a step up from the previous generations in terms of feel. Do yours have a bit of lever squish?
  24. Bike looks sick, loving the colour! Afew of us were chatting about this the other day, the last range of bikes were looing awesome, would be a really shame if they are done and finished
  25. I'm going through this issue myself, my surviving pair of Adidas Swift solo (Stealth rubber - no longer available) shoes are reaching the end of their life. I'm also currently using some Five Ten Sleuth (not the DLX) and they have a better feel than the Adidas Swift solo as they're softer and flex more, but don't have the same sticky stealth rubber as the Swifts. Five Ten don't seem to produce a lightweight approach shoe anymore, the Five Ten cycling specific shoes tend to be a bit stiff for trials and Adidas don't seem to use Stealth rubber on any of their shoes... The Grip shoes look like Pixie boots, look a bit cheap; like they'd fall apart and just naff styling wise, especially for £130! The Hebo Bunnyhop 2 black shoes look ok and the Jitsie Air4ce shoes look like an ok option too, but i've no idea what they feel like on the foot.... how flexible are they? Do they have stealth rubber levels of grip etc? Some of the lightweight approach shoes could be an option, i was looking at Black Diamond Technician and Scarpa Spirit and Spirit Evo shoes, which seem to have a nice flat sole with sticky rubber, but unsure on the support they'd offer or how stiff they would be. Bit of a mine field!
