    New Mtb Advice

On one codeine everytime for me. Proper good suspension and running gear for the money, and they get a really good write up. I've got the predecessor to this in the Titus el guapo, and it rides amazing
  2. That looks a decent build, see a fair few of these out at sherwood pines, albeit not as higher spec as yours. Thing that always amazes me about full suss after years on hardtails, is how much you can get away with. Can go proper balls out and the bike just takes it
  3. That one with the bmx rider, with a magura 'chirp' everytime he did something made me laugh like hell
  4. As far as I'm aware, you onl have to be a member of one of the organising clubs and that's about it, other than letting them know you will be attending. It's the same at any clubs Agm, you only have to be a member, and as that member you have a right to see how things are being run, as its your money that's being put into it. That's how it works at my local rugby club and working mans club anyway
  5. The comp scene for me, at 35 years old I've been there and done it, although I wasn't very good at it, miles better at moto trials I've ridden, observed, helped out with marking sections out, at tykes and national level. I've been fairly vocal about my thoughts on comps on various media outlets, and I don't give a monkeys what anybody says, over the last 4/5 years it's been engineered for a group of 6 or 7 riders who shall remain nameless, to suit them and nobody else. And as for the 'strat dabbing', that was very much in effect and very obvious to anybody reasonably in the know. As long said riders were happy I got the feeling it was screw everybody else. I may be wrong in my viewpoint, but that and along with everybody getting sponsored up to the eyeballs, made it less and less fun for the so called little people, doing it on their own, who'd just come for a good time such as myself and a few others who I've spoke to. And that's why people have stopped riding comps in England in my mind. Barbara has done an epic job over the years that I have known her, without her comp trials in the uk wouldn't exist. Simple as that
  6. I ran the same shimano deore m615 on several builds with standard pads on an Aztec wavy rotor. Get an avid or hope adaptor though. Mega power, very good hold. Don't discount shimano's so easy, they are bloody good brakes for the money and are fit and forget in my experience. I've also ran a set of 2nd hand Deores on my mtb since October 2014 and they are still amazing, and I've never touched them bar a new set of pads.
  7. 04 magura bodies with matching cnc levers. Magura slaves with echo clamps. Racing line dual seal piston and Spring, lubed with silicone grease. Never failed me on many builds. Never leaked. Many power. Much bite. Very feel solid
  8. Wrong forum mate. This is a pedal bike trials forum. Have you tried eBay though for a barrel? And try trials and mx news, they have breakers in the back of the paper in the free ads. Give Matt at inch perfect trials a call as well, he's a secondhand dealer and may be able to help you out
  9. I've updated my CX bike. It's only a c2w boardman, but it's now 1x10 using a superstar n/w chainring. And I've bought some of those cable pull hydraulic brakes off eBay to try. They use old style shimano pads, but the compound they have used is a bit hard, so think I'm gonna go organic on them to see if it'll bite a bit more. They are a vast improvement on the old bb5's I had on though

    The Angry Thread.

Class 1 HGV test yesterday. Near perfect drive, 3 minors. Bossed the reverse. Thought I'd bossed the trailer drop/hookup until I got back and finished the test which I'd now failed, when he told me I'd never checked the trailer park brake, which I do as part of my 1st walk round check. It's the first thing I go to when I'm picking a new trailer up and have done since I started doing the job. He said he was stood right behind me and said he didn't see me do it, which he wasn't, he was hiding round the front of the trailer out of the rain. Honestly thought I'd done enough to pass. The same guy has failed me twice and failed the other lad who I work with twice now. He's a f**king joke. Gotta go through it all again on Thursday now because of This guy being a fanny

  20. This is epic. Can't beat a bit of fest series
  21. Rodley barge. Best pub in the world. My grandad used to have a narrowboat on the canal there and it's my uncles second home
  22. Simple explanations for the uneducated amongst us What you are doing young Jordan, is not demo riding. It's a riding spot that happens to be at a craft fair, and you an your chums are getting it for free because the organisers think it'll bring more people through the gate. Purely for profit. It's much like it was when myself, Andeee, thinkdougie and another lad rode at winterton show near us. What @Joe Papasnap Maher, Ian Drummond, Joe prattley, danny butler, Ben savage etc do and charge for, is proper demo riding and putting on a show/entertaining the crowd. They get the crowd involved, and therefore have to have public liability insurance in case somebody gets hurt. I seriously doubt if something happens, the top guy will put his ass on the line for you, and that's why you can't call yourself demo riders. You are just riding for fun, with a few people watching, much like a street ride. And they guy is charging people to watch and you are getting f**k all for it apart from free entry Chandler
  23. Passed the on site shunter test at work today, after passing my class 2 HGV a couple of weeks ago. Getting to play in a class 1 tomorrow, then Thursday and Friday, and all next week I'm in the shunter on my own all week doing the job for real. It's weird reversing and moving stuff round that's so big. Got my class 1 lessons and test 1st week in July. Life changing stuff going on, glad I did the career change
