  1. 99% sure you will be able to. I have had a problem in the past because not all 160mm IS adapters are equal - some are a slightly different shape and can foul the caliper. I.e. An Avid brake would be fine, but the Hayes might not. But Hayes are pretty shite anyway, you'd be much better off with the Juicy (ultimate if you can get it, but they're not cheap) or even Shimano Deore (by far the best value brakes).
  2. Apparently this happens with non-Apple chargers - when you get to less than a certain amount of charge (It's 10% on iPhones I think), they don't work. I have no idea why, but plugging it into the computer or using an official charger will sort it out.
  3. What Teezr said ^^ Do that for the pads, but I wouldn't stick the rotors on the cooker - just use (very) soapy water - preferably with some kind of industrial-strength degreaser. If not, fairly liquid is actually pretty good. And then rinse with clean water very thoroughly.
  4. I think "England vs Europe" is a bit unfair. UK population ~60 million Rest of Europe ~670 million I think people always tend to compare the UK with the whole of mainland europe, when what they should do is take each country individually - E.g. compare Britain vs Germany, or vs Belgium etc. Each of these countries has 2 or maybe 3 world class riders but I think it's fair to say, so do we. I don't think we do that badly really?
  5. I thought Siberia was supposed to be cold?

The back wheel Daddy. I remember those videos - "Martin and the Daddy Pants" is the one you mean.
  8. You can try. I doubt I'd be offended though, and I have a ban button right here. Your call.
  9. If you don't STFU, I am actually going to suspend you so this topic can actually carry on... Mark Cavendish looks like a Thalidomide baby, or a dwarf or something.
  10. I don't really know what you're talkng about, but I do have a Polo of the same vintage and the matching Haynes manual. If that's any use, let me know.
  11. It doesn't sounds like your problems are due to heavy impacts though? More from posture/holding the bars? I wouldn't have thought you would want any extra weight up front. I'd concentrate on working out your riding position (I.e. alter the angle/position of the bars) and posture (E.g. when you backhop are your arms straight or bent? Try different things). As for forks, they only thing you'll get for under $100 is probably something second hand like Marzocchi DJ3s or something. They're not bad forks for the money - they're tough enough but they're heavy (6lbs ish). Yeah you might be right - I didn't think I'd seen Rowan using sus before...
  12. I had loads of aches and pains when I started riding, in my back/shoulders. It's just using muscle groups you're not used to using, plus trials is addictive so you don't stop when your body tells you to! They go away eventually though. I'm not sure sus forks are the answer - I don't think they'd help that much (if at all!), and they're expensive and heavy. I don't know if it's an American/non-British thing to want sus forks, but I knew you would be American just from reading the first post Having said that, I think Rowan Johns sometimes rides a 24 Ashton with some small-travel sus forks. At least that's what he was sat on in a picture in MBUK...
  13. Uh... Does twotter mean something I don't know? :$
  14. I think that was intended as a joke? Just a shit one.
  15. Uh... Don't? It'll look rubbish
  16. Go on... I'm not against piercings at all - I had a couple and I liked having them. But aside from bing able to fiddle/play with piercings, I can't really think of too many reasons other than aesthetics. It's sort of considered counter-culture, and it puts you in a different 'box' which some people want, but that's really coming back to appearance.
  17. Uh, how much screenage is going on there?!

    Jackson...

Why is that cool? Or is that just you trying to be too cool for school in a like "Yah, I was like so not fazed by MJ's death"? I don't get it?
  19. I'm 90% sure it's '98 - I had a 97 GT and the GT logo wasn't like that, but my Dad's bike is 98 and it looks like that. So I'd say 98 or maybe 99 if they didn't change the logo from 98-99?

    Forks.......

To be honest you may need to find the manual because I'm very hazy on this. All forks are slightly different. There WILL be rebound adjustment somewhere - that may even be controlled via the air valve. Check the Marzocchi website, they often have manuals. And yes, you will need a special shock pump.
  21. There's a guy on the forum under the name Mr Plod who is a PCSO I think. He sounds like he knows a bit about it, so it might be worth hitting him up for a bit of info. You might get more useful information anyway...
  22. They shouldn't leak. If you're leaving the bike for an extended period of time, people say you should leave it upside-down so the oil bathes the seals and they don't dry out.

    Forks.......

If it's got two air valves, one will be positive air, and putting more air in there will make the forks firmer throughout the travel (Which is what you want, right?). If they're the same as my old forks (which were Marzocchi but not drop offs), then this'll be on the right leg, but you may have to experiment (or RTFM). What do you mean the rebound ain't great? Too fast, too slow, too variable? There should be an adjuster on them somewhere to control the rate of rebound.
