Me and D-L-B will (90% sure) be joining you for Manchester. If you get a chance, post with times. In fact, cancel that - you'll probably be en route to the Scatty Gaff as we speak.... I'll send you a text or something - you going by train or car...? -
PMed you.

Although I did buy a pressure gauge, I never use it. Just judge it by hand. Probably low 20's front and back. Want it hard enough that it's stable, but not rock hard as the bike just rides shitty.

What do you mean 'this time' - I've never been to Llandudno to ride before... -
Simple solution... don't send whatever he has paid for. I'm sure I've heard of Luke Malpass, and that he's a sound guy. Don't go jumping to conclusions, it might not be what you think. Could well be some guy trying to get Luke into trouble...

Funny. How did you manage that Steve - you'd 'ave had that!!

You will need: A plastic syringe (10ml - 25ml) - can probably buy in a chemists A small bit of plastic tubing to attach to it An old Magura cross-over pipe Some oil (Mineral brake fluid, Halfords, 7 quid a litre, green bottle or cap) You need to cut the cross-over in half, and attach it to the syringe using the plastic tubing. The cross-over, at one end, should have the threaded barb so you can screw it into the caliper to bleed. So, for about 10 quid you get your own kit that'll do countless bleeds.

What Windows is it? Check the BIOS settings on startup to see if it is recognising the drive ok.

You don't have to justify your disagreement like that - I didn't have you marked down as a trouble maker or anything!!! As far as sales figures go, you'd have a better idea than me being that you work in the industry, but I'm still not sure. Perhaps Magura have felt the pressure to revamp the HS33 because disk brakes are cheaper and more readily available. I have seen a fair few XC riders with Maguras, although I think I can safely say the days of DH riders using them are over (HB & Tomac!!!). I never had much trouble with TPA's on the old brakes. I think people just abused them or tried to do them up too hard. My 05's didn't even take getting used to - they were fine straight out of the box.

Seb, that's crazy! Once in Brighton I got started on by this guy. He was talking to us for ages then suddenly went to get my arm behind my back, which I dodged, but he managed to get me in a headlock and I felt all the vertibrae in my neck compressing and he was just screaming at me. In the end he let go but I wasn't too happy. He went off, saying next time he would have the bike... Apart from that Brighton has always been ok for me, but sometimes you do get characters down there. I bet that guy was one of those twats that has too much to drink and then thinks that all his mistakes (hitting the post) is somebody elses fault. For Christs sake, he had just taken the piss out of you guys. It makes you angry, I know. I got knocked out by some guy when I was 18. Can't even remember why. He fell of his bike or something, and then I woke up in some old person's house with the Police around me. BTW, hope you told the Police - worth seeing if they can get a lead on him. There's CCTV all along there (where abouts was it?). They're just wanker these people. Total wankers. You get people like that up here in Liverpool and they'll dish out the abuse, but when it turns back on them they can't take it. If it happens again, throw your bike at him. Just throw it at his head as hard as you can. But I know what you mean, you don't want to make the first move, and then their hit comes out of left field. It just sucks, especially when you and your bro were just out for a relaxing ride. It's always rubbish when something spoils your day/week/month like that. Anyway mate, you've got my sympathy - that cut does look a bit harsh. I should think it'll heal ok if it's been stitched properly. Just a damn shame, I thought Brighton was better than that... EDIT: If you get a Police crime number, then you may as well put in for a 'compo' claim, seeing as everyone else does. Who know's, you might get a couple of grand dished out. Just say you're traumatised. This system created animals like that, so you might as well milk some money back out.

Wasn't he the clown that kept us all awake at Tech 04?

Thought she had her own car? Have you decided anything for next weekend yet? Rasclat...

If we're talking cool as in laid back, relaxed, just chilled out, then it has to be Edd Tongue. He just rides what he wants, when he wants. He's not interested in bike fashion or silly fads, he just goes out and rides. He wasn't an option in this poll, but Martin Hawyes has got to be the coolest of this lot. Bear in mind that cool doesn't mean best rider. A lot of the 'European' riders just come across geeky.

The 661 Jon Taylor gloves aren't thin. In fact, they're damn good. The new version has just come out, but the older ones (that I'm using) are on special offer at Chain Reaction Cycles (depending on what size you want) so it might be worth checking them out.

I think he meant worse for trials. Magura have never seemed to recognise trials riders - I never saw them feature trials riders on their promotional material. But that isn't a complaint as if you set brakes up properly then that's usually how they work.

Or try eBay, there are always people selling full sets in mint condition, and they tend to go for £60-70. As it happens I prefer my 05 Maguras to the older ones. I think they must have a smaller lever piston or something, as I have to set the pads up closer to the rim, but I find them more comfortable. With my old ones the TPA's always used to screw up, the levers creaked at the pivot or just ripped clean of. Whatever, I'd say your best bet is eBay.

Mail order is cheapest. Try extremepie.com, shore.co.uk, routeone.co.uk and rollersnakes.co.uk

Are you serious? That's nothing to be proud of you know.... P.S. That was directed at 'Richie'

My only gripe with the Monty grips is the fact that they are super thin. Makes holding the bars like trying to grip a cocktail stick. I prefer the Toxsin grips - big and fat, with soft rubber....

Sounds good to me. Don't know about Llandudno - I'll see if anyone else here fancies it. Where were you thinking of going out in Liverpool? Danny usually goes to the Krazy House, and Adam goes out most weekends. On Sunday I'll ride Manchester or Liverpool. Went to Manchester last weekend and hardly rode at all - I think the late start and half-arsed attitude were to blame. -
Try-all rims don't fit in the old Ashtons. I bought a Tioga DH rim because even a DX32 required brake pad modification. Tioga is nice rim though. You'll have to grind a braking surface (like on the D321) but it's 5mins work. And a steal at 25 quid...
