  1. Yeah that's the one. I hope for another Phoenix jam.
  2. Pretty much what Mark said. I personally (in the whole terms of things) think geo really doesn't make much difference in this discussion. The thing is, as Mark said, there really isn't many doing anything that different. Most riders currently all have the same outlook now. Buy long bike, do sidehops. Buy Inspired, do fjwhips and backflips. There are however riders who do mix between the two. But they aren't pushing anything new. Gap here, spin here, and the end result is the same as the two previous incarnations with either no thought to style, links, execution etc. I still hold Ryan Leech to be responsible for a lot of trials progression. He helped my riding a lot. Martyn Ashton had a great section in Trial Noir. I've still seen nobody replicate a certain move he done in his section. Akrigg has also been responsible for some progression due to his loose nature. Also bringing a couple of fresh tricks too. The sport is still young however. I don't think the comp scene had really done anything at all for trials progression. Maybe helping develop slightly better pogo sticks. What i think is funny, the rules. Strategic dabs, watdufuq indeed. Get out of jail free card? The popularity of comps on here is an indication of it's staleness in the whole view of things. TF is a funny place too. There are so many riders who tilt towards mtb street moreso than trials but TF is their/ our home. Is TF and Inspired the final string keeping us/ these riders connected with trials? Will we all eventually part ways? I dunno, i think i'm just babbling. I've even forgot the initial question. Something abour trials being boring. Oh yes that's it. It's really the community that is boring. With Facebook killing Member Organised Rides, the getting out and having fun with new people has gone. Different styles aren't mixing but people are all just watching the same video and replicating it. An example, years ago i would go to a new skatepark and find the locals sharing similar styles of their own, formed by their park and the local riders before them. These days, go to any park, see same kid trying same trick. I do agree with Greetings though, trials does feel like it'd taken a step back. Ben Rowlands had a great idea with getcreative. But unfortunately i think most people seemed to think it was about putting your tshirt on backwards, wearing your seat on your head while doing a fakie off some kryptonite rock from the planet kiwi. But there were some who just went out there and did what they wanted to do, alas the Aussie guy on Ashton won? Either way him, or someone like him definitely on an Ashton made a very enjoyable video. Also, Tim Pratt is/ was great to watch. The end. Conclusion / TLDR Riders suck. Trials does not. [edit] Late night typos. Also no digs be associated with this post
  3. Inches. On my Element i could gap and sidehop near what i could on my mod. You just need some muscle, aggression and abuse. So in saying that, i will hop several inches more on mod, but it'll be smooth. On the 24" it would be a huck to rim breaker to get near the same.
  4. I can't see shit on my phone but i doubt there's a new model being tested. Inspired took a long time leaving these in testing so i doubt a new model would do them any favours. It would panick me a lot if that junction required changing after paying out the bucks for the frame.... But people do insist on buying the latest and greatest because it's new..... Again, i doubt either are true.
  5. Lower the better. It'll teach you to spin. If you're having to land with your back brake on you're probably not spinning enough. If you're not rolling out with much speed, then again the spin probably isn't correct. The above applies primarily for lower drops. Higher drops focus on smoother landings in a different way
  6. Right now i'm with the bump guy. Just so fed up with work atm, yet i could afford to walk straight out. Such a relief leaving jobs, had too many like that. But normally the tranquility (sp?) feeling. If i'm on my bike just sat there at sun down, with no one around, no noises, just a mild humm from the motoway down my local is great. Thinking in such a philosophical way i really enjoy. But the funny thing is, when i was in various places in the middle of knowhere, in front of crazy sunsets, in isolated places, in no light polluted spaces looking at the stars, the feeling was no different. Thousands of miles away from home or 2, it makes difference. Also appreciation from someone else is great. Though i don't seem to encpunter that much anymore. Be it friends, shops, general people. I guess that's why i'm such a negative b*****d half the time. hah
  7. No disrespect but i would of gone for the, email them and ask "for a possible fix/ repair of my second hand product". But you're right, people have somehow claimed warranty on second hand products, BIZARRELY Your excuse is acceptable, for now.
  8. No offence, but this is the dumbest thing i've ever seen from you. Second hand. Emailed them but posted here anyway. Do i need to write a post about why, how, WHYYYYYYYY. I hope not >.<
  9. Most has been mentioned. The non-queue thing as Ailsbury mentions is pretty much the game. Unfortunately skill level kinda takes priority a lot of the time. Most parks these days you have to play the game/ politics. Cruise about and identify the mood of the park. If people appear snakey, compy, or generally rude then it's either give them a taste of their own medicine or put up with the crap. Most people normally back off easy enough i find, but some don't which then creates a whole load of compy session, which is tiresome. Generally i've found skaters are normally pretty respectable to riders if they are not average tailwhip joe with tight jeans. One thing not mentioned though, filming normally takes priority, if it's genuine. Not average joe doing a flyout or other basic move. Which again does tie into the, skill = priority.
  10. Is this legit...? Either way; No thanks, Kevin
  11. Looking tidy. What you doing about the bb?
  12. The answer to your question is probably in that paragraph
  13. If a lot of rain is guranteed then i'm dropping out. Trials, knee, work f**king my monday off; off, solo car journey, all equate to not worth it unfortunately.
  14. You mean about Vancouver? You said you wanted experiences rather than just boozing. From that i thought you wanted to go do something different to the norm. Vancouver and Whistler are highly commercial places. Nice and friendly, but nothing special. But when it comes to decent/ big mtb places, they're probably all gonna be commercial.
  15. As if London driving wasn't fun enough. Is there a train station close by to the meeting spot
  16. Goodo. Be good to meet you as everyone else i've met
  17. 14/15yrs Saracen then a Monty x-alp Sidehops and everything else that hurts my knee. They are indeed a pain to learn. Although with the newfound 20" bars now they should be easier to get. They took me a while to get, but when i got them i did them on and off anything and everything
  18. Higher the better. Stronger tyre and better puncture protection.
  19. Without time & money considerations it's hard to say. You can go anywhere if you weren't set on taking your bike. If you're after "experiences" avoid Vancouver completely imho. There are places on doorstep likea scottish highlands and iceland that would offer a fresher experience if you like.
  20. Those bikes are sure funny to look at. Sprung! Friend had them tyres. Were about as wide as my 2.5" hookworm. Plus they punture proof. Get a pair of hookworms. Yes a pair
  21. Some folding do have higher tpi, how many more tyres i don't know. But just something to be wary of. As i said OP. Holy for pure street. TT for some dirt grip too.
  22. Watched this the other day as i'm subbed. Truly impressed!
