  1. I am assuming you have done a reboot of the router (power off for 30 seconds to 1 minute)?? Could be a number of things; 1. You say his Wi-Fi drops out, is it the router or the computer? Does anyone else computer in the household have the same issue? 2. Have you tested this with an Ethernet cable to the router, rather than wireless? 3. Is there anything that causes the issue which he knows of? Only on Games, streaming media....or any time without a known pattern? 4. Anti-virus all up to date on his PC? 5. Who is his internet provider (pure curiosity)? 6. Does he have any other devices near his router which could cause interference with the signal (for example mobile phones inc. wireless home phones, radios, baby monitor things) 7. Is the wiring to the router all sound, no cuts in cables, lose connectors? 8. Any warning lights/flashing lights/red lights on the router when this error occurs? 9. Make/Model of the router - find out, this could be a common problem depending on this? 10. When you say 'disconnecting' you mean disconnecting from the game or disconnecting from the internet? These are two different things completely, disconnecting from a game could mean a complete drop in internet connection OR not enough bandwidth to maintain a suitable connection - the game will attempt buffering for a while, however once this times out, the session will end). 11. Is he able to view streaming media with no issues (youtube)? But yea, as Muel said - cable, cable, cable!
  2. Not being funny, but surely you were fully aware of all the costs before you signed to join Lloyds - therefore this isn't a problem with Lloyds, its a problem with you failing to read the paperwork and not bothering to move your account or cancel that particular service? I'm with First Direct - Costs me £10 a month but the service is spot on. Never gone over my agreed overdraft so cannot comment on that - however I don't think the policy will differ that much from bank to bank. As someone else said, banks are there to make money, not to help you. Whilst they may be willing to cut your informal overdraft fee they are not obliged to do so...you broke the terms, you went beyond the agreed overdraft and you foot the bill. If you find yourself paying £25 for going 80 pence overdrawn (you may find they have a flat rate of £25 for any informal overdraft, anything below 10 has no fixed fee, £10-25 is £5 per day, £25+ is £10 per day) then you may want to consider setting up an overdraft if you don't already have one, if you do have an overdraft and still go over, then you need to look at your finances carefully and see where you're f**king up. I have 2 accounts, a bills account with an overdraft facility of £100 and another account with disposable income (no overdraft). I total my outgoings for the month, and each time I get paid that amount plus £10 goes into the bills account (to cover any overspend - e.g phone bill). Whatever is left remains in the normal account and I know I can safely blow all of that money (if I wish) and the bills will still get paid. I used to f**k up my money all the time until I had to become responsible for it. 99% of people who 'complain' about their bank are the ones f**king up in the first place - why shouldn't they charge you for using their money?
  3. Ouch! What a depressing view on life you have, in my opinion I think people use the word 'system' to mean 'laziness'. Anything is possible if you work hard enough for it. Personally I have no regrets on anything - that's the way it went, so be it.
  4. Probably golf or something like that....
  5. White Lightening 20 Lambert Park Some random slapper Friday night sorted if you're under 18.
  6. Alright saying 'Install Firefox', which I would also recommend anyway, however it doesn't really solve the problem? IE is shutting down when opened, this isn't normal for any web browser, and the possibility of malware being present is the bigger issue than what browser shes using? Might not be anything major, but could be doing some nasty things in the background. Initially, I'd suggest a decent malware scanner, full scan, update security patches, reinstall IE and see what happens from there. Firefox may well bypass the issue, but its not solving what is causing it.
  7. Worse when you do it all day at work, come home and then do it some more simply because you have nothing better to do.
  8. Well, if you're sat in front of a PC all night, why not do something constructive with it? Create a website, learn a programming language, start a small business?
  9. Yeah, but who needs that when you have blue LED lights?!
  10. What is it with this forum and an unnatural obsession with topless men/working out? Anyway, I smoke and cycle XC - with several ciggy breaks on a good run. Since cycling I've noticed I have gotten a lot fitter. I'd say it can certainly be done, but it doesn't make it easier by any means. Best off to just not bother in the first place (smoking, not excercise...sometimes).
  11. Nice work! Especially with the Worcester Bosch boiler

    Fail

    Is this full of peadophiles?
  13. More common that you'd think - I've seen it dozens of times where connectors have come loose, cables crushed, strained.

    Halfords

With the amount of stores they have it doesn't suprise me at all that they have a couple of idiots in there - clearly a training issue. The problem isn't the stores but the some of the staff that work there. I wouldn't class Halfords as specialist - they offer a cheap service for people who just want a bike quickly, cheaply to do a bit of cycling. I'm sure most people who are really into cycling would go elsewhere...

    Freeganism?

Well, thats scrumping surely? I have no issue with people doing it, and I can certainly see the benefits. However, when on Earth do you get the time to go looking through bins - obviously under cover of darkness, on a Sunday as it tends to be the only time that supermarkets are shut these days? The waste of food is pretty criminal, although I really couldn't be arsed sifting through the shit to find a couple of quids worth of food. I was under the impression a lot of stores now open the packaging or soil it to prevent all this?
  16. Never attempted suicide or self harmed...I can't relate to anyone who has or does, life has mood swings, bad days, good days, shit days, loss and gain, it all depends if you can handle it, surely?

  18. Only read the first page because I couldn't be arsed with the rest. I seriously double google will be any competiton for facebook. It just isn't straight forward to export account information in terms of photos and such - a lot of people have their entire life on there, IF facebook was to shut down or experience massive data loss a lot of people would probably lose 5 years worth of their life in pictures. Also, these new social networking sites only appeal to the people who have a bit of an interest in technology; I can't see the pregnant, unemployed 22 year old mother of 3 whinging about the NHS on anything but Facebook. All in all, I generally can't be bothered with another hype.

    Pay Advice

Maybe a daft question, but is there a difference in working hours? I hear this a lot from my mates, usually bragging there on £15 an hour, but fail to mention they only work 5 hours a week or so. Of course there not obliged to pay the same rate - as far as fairness goes in pay rates, welcome to the working world.
  20. Ordered a Xen and Camlebak with them about a month or so ago, I opted for free delivery which took about 4-5 days if I remember correctly. I was concerned as the status remained 'Order Processing' until the day it was depatched, then it turned to Complete upon delivery. They do drag their feet a bit but with my first ever order I couldn't really grumble. A lot of horror stories on the net about them and I've heard the lack of contact details being an issue several times. Just hold tight, I'm sure it'll turn up but just don't expect it quickly...
  21. This will certainly be backed up - so I think subtle changes would be best a complete deletion will bugger things up for a couple of days for sure, but they'll soon have the data restored and be back in business; probably with better security than what they previously had...
  22. Failing that - you could get a hacksaw to cut across the head of the bolt and use a flat headed screwdriver.
  23. Good luck finding a phone that isn't assembled in China!
