    Wooden Fixie Bars

Like fixies? Just without the cool bit...
  2. 12 hour shifts aren't bad if you can physically cope with it - if you're handling heavy machinery or production line processes then your and your colleagues lives could be at risk. Additionally, your wanting a civic but working all hours to buy it - how to you plan to maintain, run, tax and insure this car? Also, what the f**k does 'bossing out work' mean?

    National Lottery

Is that a statement or a question?

    National Lottery

Not to mention my local corner shop won't accept £50 notes, I don't think he'd take my £14m cheque seriously...

    National Lottery

    Yeah? Must take some skill...
  8. Thought the forum could do with some discussion.... So, the national lottery, often call the Tax on Stupidity; ever play it, ever won anything significant, do you agree with it, do you disagree if so why? For myself, I rarely play - I might get a scratch card occasionally and I may have a lucky dip out of boredom but I don't understand how people can play it religiously every other day, normally spending a fortune on it. I've never won anything, maybe £10 on a card and I don't think I ever bothered cashing that in the end. Although I have a friend who won £100 on a card, that's the largest card win I personally know of. However, I hate it when I hear someone talking about a mid-expensive car and they mutter the words "Yeah, If I won the lottery". I find it awful that people see the national lottery as the only way to make money in the World.

    April Jones

I see a trend in the posts here regarding 'modern day'. Can anyone find any truthful statistics on child abduction from 1900-present day, has it actually increased? I can't help but think that the 'modern age' is no more or less dangerous than previous decades, it's just more widely reported and media encourage the fear factor that everyone is a paedophile, everyone is out to get your children and nowhere is safe. http://www.murderuk.com/child_killers.html I found the above after a quick google search, of course there are other child murders other than the ones noted above, however looking at those it was certainly a bad time 1960-1980's!
  10. Only if its worth watching; mostly documentaries. f**k soaps, X factor and all that sort of shite.

    Red Dwarf X

Hmmm, dare I say Red Dwarf is wank? :/
  12. Thanks you for the 'but seriously', gonna say you crazy son of a bitch!
  13. So what if you were on long term sick? What would they do then? Wait for the job offer so it's all official and then do it - no point in saying a word if you don't have any facts on another job.
  14. Speak to BT frequently though work; generally I tend to find them completely useless. However, the actual engineers are worlds apart (actual BT engineers, not contractors) those guys are seriously good - in my experience anyway.
  15. Also, how far does it get when connecting to the router? It is just like it cannot resolve an ip address? Could so try sticking the laptop on a fixed up address, 192.168.1.254 or something well out the normal range and see if that works - it'll rule out the narrow DHCP scope anyways.
  16. How many devices do you have attached at any one time? If you disconnect everything, connect the laptop and then phones, ps3 etc will eventually one fail to connect regardless of what the device is? Initially it sounds like a veeeery small DHCP range set on the router - maybe?
  17. My gosh, isnt Anne Frank ugly?
  18. Might not be the laptop then? Can you get hold of another laptop to test your router with? Or even a ps3 or mobile phone? Is there any software on the laptop which handles your Internet connection, this could also be the problem.
  19. Does anyone watch the US programme where they bid on abandoned storage units? I don't recall what it's called but kind of worth a watch - apart from the American "wooooah dudes!" and scripted arguments with other bidders.
  20. Trials Action (pre Trials Central)
  21. Opening was good. Closing was bad - too celebrity obsessed for my liking, why the f**k did they let One Direction play? And also ginger pubes who killed pink floyd!
  22. I'm not massively convinced on the wireless lag comments. I currently use wireless for my ps3, laptop, phone, television...no problems with any of it. I agree cable is more reliable, but I'd say the lag in gaming would be more down to your actual broadband connection, not by your connection method. Of course wireless can be interrupted by alsorts - Mircowaves, radios, mobile phones. I'd try borrowing a router to test with rather than shelling out for something which may not even solve your problem.
  23. ...and eyes, and ears, and mouth, and nose.
  24. Ahhh right, it's been bugging me all week
