Deng, The New Koxx?

Almost every year from 2003 up till 2008, all of the frames seem to be beefing up gradually. Until now.

Even the 2005 Echo Pure (with seat) looks more sturdy than the current control. Same goes for the new 'Team'... compare to it to previous years' Teams... it's even more slimmed down than these last years' Lites!

It is a big step into the light-zone. Notice how almost every CNC'd bit is drilled out in some way or form, and how there is a distinct lack of in-built boosters which was becoming a trend on Deng bikes.

I don't mind it, but gosh, it's a bit overkill on the light front?

As far as I'm concerned, Deng's ruined the Echo Control

Well he's still continuing the trend of that frame having brilliant geometry. So in my books, it's still a Control.

Personally as a rider, I don't think that frame is a looker, nor is the Team. But we must remember that the key feature and reason to buy this frame is the low weight. So if I were to build up an insanely light bike, I wouldn't think twice before getting one of these.

Well it's designed as a comp bike, so...

Be interesting to see how many comp riders use it compared to how many street riders use it. It makes sense for Koxx to make uber light comp bikes because they actually have a comp-riding team, and they're a 'comp' based company themselves. Just seems like a get-out clause for Deng so he can make ridiculously light shit that's going to sell like hot cakes to weight obsessed street riders, then just turn around and say "Well, it's a comp product" when they inevitably snap. Bearing in mind the longevity of some of Deng's "non-comp" stuff in the past, I'd be concerned whatever I used it for.

got all this stuff in today, not had time to unpack it yet but I am pretty impressed with a few parts...the forks are soooo light! Frames look cool (except the pyhon, ming machine lol).

With the amount of people complaining about how weak forks are, lighter forks are most definitely what riders need (Y)
