Is it agreed value?  If not the declared value means absolutely nothing :(

Not sure mate. Didn't properly check. Will do when I go through with it though. Came to bed at 1.30 this morning. Same again tonight as I get so much shit done. Last night I fitted the bigger turbo, new gaskets all around. Ran the intercooler pipework some more and fitted the coil pack bracket, riv nutted it as I don't like nuts and bolts.its coming together now, driveshafts are both fitted too.

Bagged myself a B series LSD box that I'm going to rob the diff out of to go in the K series box. One thing that let the car down massively was the lack of any sort of decent diff so this should be a nice stop gap until I can afford a plated diff.

Going to test fit the teg wheels this weekend too to see what sort of offset I get and see if I can squeeze some bigger brakes under there.

Brembos fitted this afternoon along with the boost pipes. Shit is definitely getting very real very quickly! Aerocatches tomorrow along with other bits and bobs. Made my own pipe bead roller too put of vice grips, an m10 washer and an exhaust clamp and a welder. Worked a f**king treat. Probably already mentioned it.

So good, Dan! What events/track days you got planned this year? I fancy a passenger ride!

Thanks Harry, I've got two days with work at curby then I'll be going to clio sport festival late Aug time, you should come to that mate. Its always been the best weekend of the year for me, trackday through the day, beers at night. Then I'll hopefully get a few more under my belt this year but Im going to dubai and got another holiday planned so not sure when I'll be able to really!

I'm sure I've said this at least five times already, but every time I see progress on it I just think: BEAST.

Good to see you doing it properly too, uprated brakes etc to go with the extra power.

It'll be great to see it finished.

Thank you mate, I started it up earlier and my girlfriend who was on 2 floors above sent me this on whatsapp as its so loud. hahahah

Then started on the pipework

20170401_134656_zps71jcujdq.jpg

Fitted the lower pipe and protected it with some heat wrap just for fretting reasons

20170401_134700_zpsmzfqofia.jpg

20170401_134704_zpsdhbyjnwy.jpg

Then made a start with the aerocatches

20170401_171734_zpsbizlwny9.jpg

One done, was really easy. Took about 15 mins

20170401_180236_zpsyhxj9qn7.jpg

Both done

20170401_184825_zpsdlp9ynik.jpg

Needless to say i'm rather happy with the progress today and yesterday, still got a few little bits and bobs to do now like fit EPAS, sort out a proper dogbone, bleed brakes and clutch and sort out the accelerator pedal but it's all fairly easy stuff. Got a fire extinguisher to affix somewhere too.

Cheers, hope everyones having a good weekend.

Had a great day today, feels good to finally just use the car, rather than worry about what needs doing. We went to an airfield which is about an hour and a half away from Brizzle, for an MX-5 meet. There was some other cool machinery there, too.

Then we stopped half way home, at a little place called Mells. We went for a walk and spotted a cool waterfall...

Lots of decent food, plenty of roof down miles and a good introduction to another group of '5 owners that I didn't know before today...

Just needs an ali header tank and that will look mega!

That would look gash, would cheapen the whole look of an otherwise immaculate conversion.

On a par with fitting an anodised blue oil cap as a finishing touch.

Sweet shit dude, so close to being back on the road! :D

Thanks man, yeah I can smell the wheelspin coming out of corners from here haha. If I was lighting up the tyres at curby with 170bhp god knows what this going to be like hahaha

Also - is that the final location for the ECU? :P

Haha that's on my list to sort out. Admittedly one of the most annoying things to sort out as the ecu doesn't have any mounting holes. Something to have a think about though.

Yeah gone for the clean oem look under the bonnet. No lairy colours or anything. Thanks for the comment though, are you feeling OK? You've liked a few of my posts recently and I'm not sure if you're building something up inside???? :P

The hateful b*****d I got my donor engine had done exactly that. It's f**king disgusting, even more so given his car was bloody yellow... Suffice to say the standard cap will be immediately swapped across when the engine goes in the car for sure!

Better than the colour the bottle will be in 6 months time, in my personal opinion. :P

Can't beat a spotlessly done conversion, and anything electrical in these sorts of jobs is way beyond my capabilities so it's impressive to read/look at and not something I've seen 100x before :)

I'll get back to ripping it out of you when the jobs done and you go back to just cleaning it and coming up with crap ideas like bonnet vents because everything else is fine and you have an itch to scratch

Ifffffffffffff i was to look at a mk1 MX5, what should i be looking out for? Might have a 1.6 hardtop lined up. I want a car to drop to the ground with some pretty wheels.

EDIT: or mk2/mk2.5

Going to look at 3 of them tomorrow, all need light welding on the arches, and have had the chassis rails done or are fine.
