great video! one of my favourite riders right now. was he one the riders in the china video of the famous one (was it coustellier? can't remember). there's quite a few asian guys with great videos and skills on youtube lately. i find his landscapes infinitely more interesting than any bucolic crap that confuses bike videos with tourism commercials. absence of ballet moves and a Mogwai soundtrack is always an extra plus point.

at which point are you all opening your rear brake? i always keep my brake locked until i'm on my way upwards. so most weight is already off the back wheel when i add the kick. lately i've been trying to open the brake before squatting to jump, to use the brake only to get up on the back wheel and find initial balance. this way i can get more momentum down but it's also a lot harder balance-wise.

i was expecting that. to my defence: it's not that bad and i think the pic was taken when i got a new rear hub and wasn't sure on the cog yet. still my favourite color combo.

this is some nice beginner riding... may i suggest you try this on a real bike from today? also maybe invest some time in training, so you can ride those rocks in a more upright position like a human and don't have to grovel across like a bouncy snail.

i was exaggerating a little bit. the 4play was my first trials bike. i was ogling the mods from the beginning, but i wanted something with a seat. but when i found out that i was much more into static stuff than street, i wanted to change. also i had a christmas bonus on hand that had to somewhere. still i found the chain tensioners the most unnecessarily annoying things ever. i did all that- tensioner arm againt the chain stay, ... still i kept messing it up or the hanger. i bought a new mech hanger (appr €20 inc. postage) and within a week it was already bent again. constantly bent hangers were affecting chain line, huge pita when changing tubes . as a beginner every attempt at sidehops i was afraid of ruining the thing again.

i really hope he poked at least a little fun at you, because he does all that stuff on a bike while you can't even walk properly without falling over.

i tried but couldn't get anything to work without having to do some filing. (didn't think about running the tensioner for a while until the chain lengthens). now it's too late. happy with the mod.

absolutely the worst part about inspired bikes. the f**king tensioner is the main reason don't ride my 4play anymore and got a mod. never again a bike with vertical drop outs.

i really don't get that new v-brake thing. how's the cable anchored to the brake arm? still just the cable wedged between screw head and brake arm or is there something better now? i wouldn't trust that for one second.
