  1. infowars? that alex jones guy? are you f**king serious?
  2. because brexit was such a well-balanced and respecful decision, nothing has happened about it in months. it's such a shitshow that nobody has any plan how to move forwards. those are decisions made by people who are inflamed by shit-politicians and boulevard media, who tell them everything's going downhill (while it's clearly not). this is not politics for someone's benefit, it's only aim is destruction and payback to those who they perceive as superior / have it easier (aka. "elite" politicians and foreigners)
  3. yeah, i thought i remembered the same thing, but it's probably the trialtech sport riser my bars are similar to which have 88mm rise. (if 'center to top' is the right way to measure)
  4. if i put the bars on the floor upside down (so that they are appr. vertical) the center of the bottom part is about 95mm off the floor, the bottom of the bottom part 105mm (subtracting 5mm for the grips i was too lazy to remove). makes the 110mm rise of the clean and jitsie risers seem less crazy than before.
  5. so, top of the tube at outermost/highest point is one measuring point. the other is bottom of the clamping area oder center of clampig area?
  6. thanks. i found that 40mm rise number somewhere on the web, but it seemed very low compared to the measurements i saw on new bars and especially compared to the trialtech ones (which i assumed to be similar to mine) i'd do an appr. measuring of my bars, but i have no idea how it is measured: center of clamping area - to center of tube at top point? here's a pic of the bars:
  7. i'm thinking about updating the front of my mod soonish - new bars and lever/blade. since things are moving towards a higher front ends, i wanted to get bars that are a little higher than the ones i have now, but not crazy high. i can't find the rise-measurements of my old bars anywhere, because they aren't sold anymore. i think they are the inspired high rise bars which i bought in 2013. any help would be appreciated. also anyone have pointers on good bars (aluminum, not carbon)? i was thinking about the clean ones - but 11cm is a lot of rise.
  8. i've been struggling with sidehops for months... it never felt right, really shitty heights and never landing on the backwheel, always very uncomfortably on both wheels. i thought i just needed more training and some working on my technique, so i went on. there was a little progress, but barely. two days ago i rolled my bars back, because i felt like maybe trying some new stuff and bam! sidehops are back. after months of struggling i really feel like a weight came off my shoulders. and i didn't even have the bars excessively rolled forwards, just a bit. now they are a tiny bit more forward than vertical. the positioning of the bars seems to have a huge influence on my posture / ass-positioning on the bike.
  9. i have the same ones in white. really cool. grippy as hell (especiall compared to the plastic platforms i had before) have you ever gotten one against the shin? i haven't yet, but i'm really dreading the day... those pins are like needles.
  10. same here. i thought the reason is that "search indexing" process that's announced at the top of my new-posts-feed.
  11. having seen only the title i stumbled in here expecting some kind of buster keaton video/gif... still wasn't disappointed.
  12. me? i'm not. looking at bmx bars, there's like 25cm of rise (opposed to like 5 or 7 on a trials setup), i'm really just whether the stem clamp can this much extra torque from the leverage with trials typic moves. (i'm not saying the bmx parts are worse material-wise in any way, just designed for something different)
  13. i'd like to think that too. but on the other hand bmx stuff is not really designed for strong brake forces.
  14. would bmx-bars really be strong enough? can they handle the torque? it's quite a bit of leverage on there. it's probably not a problem for brakeless, but are bmx-bars really suited for landing to-fronts with locked brake?
  15. you might want to be careful. i landed on my back really bad once or twice after switching from my fourplay to a 20inch comp bike.
  16. love the color! frame looks like mine. is it a speedrace frame? edit: my birdbrain couldn't hold the thread title for long enough... still looks like the same frame though

    Films!?

i haven't seen "tim's vermeer', but 'secret knowledge' by david hockney is about the same thing (and possibly one of the inspirations for 't's v.' ) http://imdb.com/title/tt0387965 hockney is a super-amusing character
  18. my hipster frames stay in place pretty nicely. but it depends of course on how wild you get. if my glasses are to loose, i bend the end part of the earpiece a little tighter towards my ears (a little heating up can help)
  19. nah. i don't think Damien Hirst ever did anything similar. Hirst is the formaldehyde guy. it's Gordon Matta-Clark you're thinking of.
  20. are there new episodes? elba is indeed amazing. and luther is watchable altogether, but the stories are mostly a pretty big letdown.

    Ali C Vlog

hahahaa, "Schwabble Tires" <3 'schwabbelig' meaning 'blubbery' in german.
  22. looks like a radical 1-palette sidehop!
  23. that very first up-to-front was so damn smooth, i could watch it all day
