Luke Rainbird
Just drain it? Should be a drain cock at a low point somewhere, below the boiler is pretty typical.
manuel
Can you not just drain the system down?
MadManMike
I was under the impression that draining can be a bit of a ball ache, especially with a tank in the loft. I also read that 8mm microbore can easily get blocked up, so changing one valve after draining could leave other pipes blocked. Anyway, I bought some bungs and all the kit I need so I'll be doing it with a vacuum this weekend. Yes, I'll set up a GoPro so that we can have a laugh if the vacuum doesn't hold 😂

JT!
He's such a turd. I'm on day three of the temperature being somewhere between -20c at the hottest and -32c at the coldest, not including windchill. Thankfully it's going to warm up a little tomorrow, but wow has it ever sucked the will to live out of me.

manuel
I used to enjoy stanceworks videos, but the f40 series has been a letdown. The latest issue is just plain dumb.

If it's rubbish I won't bother, but so far I have two totally opposite opinions on it.
craigjames
Curious too, i've been following it for a fair few years now. I do feel that his builds don't progress at the rate they used to, but I still find them interesting and enjoyable.
manuel
The f40 has been glacial! I don’t necessarily mind that but it’s drawn attention to some of the other nonsense. The guy has gone to great lengths to model the f40 and 3d scan a real f40 and to model the engine in the car and design a jig for the suspension points. All sensible stuff and actually interesting. But he then has spent like 1 episode per single chassis tube bend that he has basically done by eye. The thing that has baffled me in this episode is that all the stiffening he has put in he has just put in by eye with just a “that looks strong” or “that looks neat”! Also the main tubes from the dashboard down to the front of the car seem totally mental. Yes they look nice but they diagonally bisect the main top suspension points mounting positions which doesn’t seem particularly sensible especially when the angle of that tube is completely aesthetic. Also sending the tubing all the way to the very front of the car seems completely pointless? Surely it only really needs to go to the suspension points as the rest from there onwards is just for hanging a cf body panel and isn’t particularly useful structurally? I can’t imagine legs needing to go past that point. All these odd design/build method clashes have just made me hyper aware every time he says a measurement in inches or says “chassis”. I'm still gonna watch as I’ve invested the time, and I love f40s edit: oh and I nearly lost it when he measured one of the bottom braces of the chassis in situ like a crazy person and had to spend ages with a grinder making it fit properly
craigjames
I agree it has been a bit pedestrian and he does seem to be massively overbuilding the front end of the car in a not very well engineered or logical way. I guess he's pumping out videos no matter the lack of progress to keep his subscribers/sponsors happy? I can imagine the 308 is still taking up a lot of his time in just trying to get/keep it running. I want to see more of the Quattro!
Ali C
Genuinely gutted, saddened, angered and horrified by Charlie Kirk’s murder. The more time goes by and the more clips I see the more I’m reminded of what a genuinely nice human he was.
manuel
Ok yes, it’s bad when people get murdered, and always sad for people who know him and family etc. I’m in no way legitimising what happened to him (it’s awful) but… here is just a section of his wiki page, and he doesn’t sound in any way a “nice human” in fact he sounds like someone I would dislike immensely (to put it mildly) A key ally of Donald Trump, he espoused a variety of conservative stances, including opposition to abortion, gun control, DEI programs, and LGBT rights. His more controversial views included his criticism of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and Martin Luther King Jr., his promotion of COVID-19 misinformation and false claims of electoral fraud in 2020, and his opposition to immigration.
craigjames
Nice?! In the same way Alex Jones or Tommy Robinson are nice? Awful that he was gunned down in public, very sad for his children and wife, but I don't think he was a nice person. 1
Ali C
Edit: you know what, I don’t need to persuade you. What’s done is done, I feel my way about him and you feel yours. I’ll stay sad and angry that a man I deeply respected was killed so pointlessly.
isitafox
Sorry Ali but anyone who's on team Trump is not good for the world (not saying he deserved to be shot!). Some people think Putin and the North Koreans are the biggest threat we have to worry about but Trump is easily the most dangerous person on the planet and those that are keeping him in power should be seen as just as dangerous.
Ali C
I disagree, also you guys totally could’ve not said anything after my post…you just have to get your word in when it’s not needed. i liked a guy who got murdered…why does it need any further comment.
manuel
Please just tell me one thing decent about him. It would be nice to think everyone has good qualities, alongside let’s say other stuff. Edit: I guess my post doesn’t make it clear that is what I was after! Like Mike said, just a bit shocking given the headline features of the guy. MadManMike
I think it was the "genuinely nice human" part that shocked people in to replying. You could agree with some or all of his opinions, but I don't really think he sat in the "nice" category. Getting shot for an opinion is crazy though, nobody deserves that.

It’s not my job nor need to make you change your mind. I just know that I saw plenty of evidence for me to come to my conclusion. I’d like to think that I’m considered a kind decent human and if someone like me can see good in Charlie then perhaps he’s not the monster some people would have you believe he is. manuel
Until you posted I had zero knowledge of the guy other than he is another gun death statistic. My very basic search left me a bit baffled as you’re right, I would class you as a kind decent human being, but the main headlines for this guy are views that are incredibly right wing, intolerant and quite frankly dangerous. The way you posted made me think that I was missing something, but I’ve not found anything different, so if I’m missing something please tell me? If politically that’s what you side with that’s fine, I’m not going to persuade to become a lefty liberal. I can understand how you might in that scenario respect someone like that - to get in the position they were, and promote the things they believe in, sure. But I just don’t understand how you can call any of those behaviours nice. Strong - sure. Hardlined yes. Like did he also do a shit load of charity or something? So to be honest I still don’t understand your original post and still feel like I’m missing something.
monkeyseemonkeydo
Before he was shot I only saw him on Youtube being quite outspoken and aggressive/condescending while debating his political position with academics, students etc. which showed him to be an educated and seemingly quite intelligent complete arsehole. Agree with everyone that being assassinated is terrible for his family and unfortunately the biggest problem I see is that it makes him a martyr for the scum that he supported. Literally anyone who is pro-Trump seems to be stupid, racist, short sighted and basically fucking dangerous. The utter retardedness of Trump's whole persona and presidency is so completely ridiculous satirists will be losing their jobs as you simply couldn't make up the dumb shit he does and says every single day. Being a 'genuinely nice human' would suggest someone who is in some way trying to improve things for ordinary people in a selfless way, something that simply cannot be said for anyone who is anti-gay, anti-trans, anti-abortion, pro-white supremacist, anti-immunisation, pro-Trump etc. etc. It feels like he was distressingly good at pushing his twisted, fucked up politics to a large portion of young, impressionable (stupid) Americans. While we're here I'm livid that the orange cunt is in the UK again. In other news, I only noticed today at work that the Silverhook Big Boy filler logo looks a lot like Trump, if a bit less orange...
