Toilet/shower/kitchenette block now assembled for the workshop :) I'll fit and plumb it all in at some point but for now it can stay as a shell (well it'll get clad and receive a door then stay like that for a while).

Actual workshop stuff should be happening next week, I'm very excited! New beams going in so the crappy supports can go and then I can whack in some lighting which will make a bit of a difference for me as it sucks working at night with flood lights.

More than welcome, I kind of want to as well! I'm afraid my ridiculously fluffy cat is on mouse duties though... I'm really excited to get this done, It's about as close to a dream workshop as I'll ever get, once I buy a ramp it'll be super. There is another side to the building that is surplus to requirement so that may end up becoming a store room for multiple vehicles :D

Will upload some pics from the roadtrip! I didn't take that many as I was too bothered about driving. Got loads of footage though so will be looking at that later.

This was from our first campsite in Ullswater, Lake district

Moving onto wales, the views were pretty unbelievable. This road was fairly scary with the sheer drop off the end at pretty much all times!

All in all, it was a f**king fantastic trip. I did find sleeping in the tent tedious after a bit though as I didn't sleep well which doesn't go down for setting you up for the following day of driving a lot! The roads around wales were incredible though, just every single road was perfect for a well set up clio. really want to go back.

We did the evo triangle too which is something else.

And another update from tonight. Finally got home to my place and neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed to tinker. Got my race heater a few weeks ago so the heater matrix and lower dash needs to come out to get to it etc.

Removed the upper dash and airbag

I then started removing the heater matrix plastics

Plenty of insulation removed too!

Got to remove the actual matrix next, not sure how it comes off from the plastic clip @Chambers_RS how did you go about yours?

Decided i'm going to have the upper dash. It's going to be fun to fabricate the middle panels as i'm wanting to keep the radio.

Hoping to have a panel and just have loads of flick switches on, all the same make and size so it looks tidy and have them labelled with 3d metal sticky tape (not sure of the name)

Removed a fair chunk of weight though and thats just the insulation and plastics tonight. Got my @bristolnate door cards to go on the front soon too. Really wish I ordered the rears too :( Gutted I missed out as it really would have tidied the rear.

Told you Wales was good :P  One conversion from this thread now.  Need to go rip around there again before I get rid of my Mazda.

For the radio, do you listen to the actual radio radio or is it just stuff being played by your phone/MP3 player of choice?  If it's the latter, could you not bin the radio itself off and just get one of those dinky amps to play whatever you're playing music from through your speakers?

It was so so good! The evo triangle was immense, just checking footage now.

Got a link to the amp you speak of? That would make so much sense as I only ever use my aux cable.

this was funny

Can't seem to find the one I was looking at now.  Was planning on doing the same thing to my car, found one with a bunch of good reviews that was ~£30.

The one I saw was pretty small and mega stripped out so it didn't have any 'nice' facia or anything like that, but even a fancy looking one like this is only 250g~, which I assume will be lighter than your radio?

Also, it'll be great for powering your left sperker and your right sperker.

Any small amp will do, all I had in my old Mondeo was a standard little sub amp in the glove box, the only downside to it was it got very hot on hot days, but if it was mounted somewhere air can get to it, it'd be no problem at all :)

Just takes a 12v input. Just have to butcher one of the gazillions of 12v adaptors everyone has in a draw someone to get the connector then wire that up to a switched live off the ignition.

I have realised that that one isn't actually bluetooth though, not sure what I was on when I posted it.

Got one of the ball joints replaced on the new (to me) civic, and did some prodding with my test light to find the suspect fuse I knew would be the cause for my head unit not powering up.

Tomorrow I tackle the tiny bit of rust that's present and then make a start pulling the B16 out of the VTi

Replaced the water pump on the E46, bit of a faff to do! It seems to run fine so that's a relief. I need to get a belt stretcher in order to refit the AC belt which is annoying!

You just have to wind them on. Get it wrapped all the way round the crank, and partly on the other, then turn the engine round by hand in the correct direction and it'll pull itself on.
