The Happy Thread

Today was a f**king good day. I'm really happy.

Woke up at half 7, was bored, said to my mum 'shall we go to Brighton?' and we all bundled into the Panda and off we went.

We listened to Black Keys on the way down there, made it in good time, no traffic.

Straight into the legendary Bill's restaurant for breakfast. It was packed, but a lovely atmosphere and the breakfast was awesome.

This was the best breakfast ever...Eggs Benedict with bacon and black pudding...Mmmmm...

As previously mentioned I took my Trip 35 with me to run through some film.

I snapped a few good shots, I'm looking forward to getting them developed.

I stopped off at one of the best vintage camera shops in Brighton, who have a lovely cabinet full of classic camera's at reasonable prices. All tested and ready to go.

This really caught my eye.

A cracking little full frame 35mm with a great lens, battery operated light metering and apart from focus and film speed it is an automatic. A great little cam.

But it's not really going to do a different job to my Trip.

The guy behind the counter suggested this...

Half frame, 30mm/2.8 prime lens, the same selenium cell automatic metering my 35 has and it's tiiiiinny.

£40.

Done!!!

Picked up three rolls of 400 Impossible film, a set of iPhone lens adapters which are pretty cool.

There is a close up.

A fish eye.

And a landscape wide angle lens which I haven't really used yet.

About two months ago I lost my glasses, this made me unhappy and blind.

Grr.

There is an opticians in Brighton that I use, and purchased two pairs of Persol folders, my last glasses and my mum's new glasses in there and will be taking Bethan there to get her new glasses in Feb I got a bit of a silly deal in the end, but I found a set of glasses I really wanted. But at £279+ lenses I wasn't going to be buying them this time of year.

Mum got these.

I drank beer, and pondered the possibility of getting the Prada glasses I really needed, and wanted...

RAWWW.

Beer done.

More shopping.

Went to Home Sense which is basically TK Maxx for homeware.

Kerching.

Whilst I was waiting for all the useless tatt that I'll be filling my house up with I did a bit of googling, shopping for my lenses. Found them for £142 without lenses.

Decided it was worth a shot, so I went back to the opticians and showed them the price 'Look guys, don't want to beat you up. But if you can match these then look after my prescription I'm game, otherwise I'm just going to have to wait and find something cheaper that I like as much.'

'Yeah go on then but at least wind it up to £150 to cover the postage you're not paying.'

Shiiiit. £150 cash in the end for the frames.

I've totally expected to just take the frames, then get the prescription sorted in the new year. That's what happened last time round.

Anyway, he told me I'd have to wait five minutes. He took a measurement of my face, job done. I assumed he was adjusting the frames.s

He asked me to try them on 5 minutes later, PERFECT lenses, included in the price. Legend.

f**k me. I can see again.

All in all a really good day, feeling very happy, chilled out and all is good.

Happy happy happy.

Fun fact; Bills is 30 seconds from my house.

If you walked past 3 Jolly Butchers/ LA Shitness, we coulda done some waving (if i was there).

I did indeed, what road do you live on?

I go to Brighton two or three times a month for gigs, shopping and drinking, next time we will have to wave at each other.
